Interstellar Businesswoman Tycoon
[Host, four o'clock to your side!] Two consecutive whooshing sounds rang out in that direction. However, it was stopped by a loud clang. The scurrying beast, which was fortunate enough to escape the attack, immediately darted into the round hole on the ground. Sylvia ran forward, sending waves of wind arrows into the hole. Unfortunately, the arrows didn't hit anything but the hard metal around the hole. Seeing this, she could only head over to the next hole to wait for her prey. Not just her alone, Miley and the others could be seen running around while trying to catch the little scurrying beasts that closely resemble the earth pangolins. But unlike the slow movement of the earth's pangolin, these scurrying beasts were very fast. “Damm it, I almost caught it just now.” Ryker cursed out, seeing that the beast he was chasing had run into the hole. Today, their task is to catch this scurrying beast on the ground. Known for their love for metal, the metal-eating beasts reside in an area filled with an abundance of raw metals. One of their special body characteristics is the hard scale protecting their fragile skin. These scales are very hard to pierce through. As such, giving them an impenetrable defense. Below their four limbs are twenty sharp claws that can dig through any hard metal. Unfortunately, with their huge combat advantage, the metal-eating beasts were too dumb to know how to put them to use. Thankfully, they were compensated with high speed and top defense to offset this weakness in their IQ. Or else, they would have been under the mercy of Sylvia and her group. Sylvia began to pant after an unsuccessful catch of running from one hole to another. [In two seconds, 8 o'clock to your left.] Sylvia swiftly turned around, sending out a wind arrow at that location. Almost instantly, a metal-eating beast emerged from the hole and was met with a wind arrow on its face. “Hisss!” The arrow appeared as fast as lightning, piercing through the soft tissue under its abdomen. Black blood sputtered out of the wound, and it fell dead onto the ground. Sylvia ran over and put the dead beast inside her storage ring. One of the most important resources in the metal eater's body is its blood. The black blood could be consolidated into a hard metal, which is one of the vital metals used in the manufacturing of spaceships. “What a good precision, Sylvia.” Miley was surprised at Sylvia's instant kill. One should know that none of them have managed to catch a single beast since they've been here. Not even Tyron himself. Yet, Sylvia had managed to calculate the moment the metal-eating beast was about to appear and take it down in one swoop. What a remarkable talent. “Yeah. Nice throw, Sylvia.” Walker, who had also witnessed the scene, praised along with Miley. “Thank you.” Even though her accurate precision had come from cheating, Sylvia accepted the praise. There was no need not too, since the hauls would be shared among themselves at the end. After the praise, the three returned to their task. At the end of the evening, the lair of the metal-eating beast was cleared up. The majority of the beasts hunted were done by Sylvia. The rest only managed to catch a few beasts. Second highest to her was Ian. The young boy had managed to take down 39 metal-eating beasts on his own. “Whoa, Ian. I never knew you were this strong.” Ryker laughed out in admiration while putting his arms across the latter's shoulder. “I didn't do much, actually.” Ian said, trying to appear reserved. “You don't need to be reserved with us,” Tyron spoke out. “Our Tyron guild admired those who are strong and hardworking. During the battle, I noticed that you didn't make use of your wind ability at all.” His gaze subconsciously fell on the sword held in Ian's hand, and he continued. “The sword in your hand must be an exceptional one. Make sure to keep it safe.” He had always suspected that the sword in Ian's hand was an unusual one, but he would never have thought that it could split the tough carapace of the metal-eating beasts like some soft cake. If it weren't for Sylvia's detective skills, perhaps Ian would have been the one who astounded everyone the most during today's battle. “So, what's our total spoil?” Miley looked to the side and asked. “Over 500 bodies have been counted. Sylvia killed four hundred…” Milo began to recount everyone's achievements. “Inside the holes, we found some younglings residing inside them. But since our journey is still long, it would be a burden to bring them along with us. So, they are left out of the total spoils count.” “Good.” Tyron was pleased with Milo's action. “Sit down and take a rest, everyone. I'm sure you're all tired from the long battle.” After saying that, he turned towards Miley. “I want to talk with you.”“Okay. You guys continue without us.” Miley waved at the group before following Tyron. Walker found a place to sit and stared at the two departing backs. “What do you think the president and the vice president are discussing?” “Of course, it's about their love life. What does a singleton like you know?” Gael tuts in answer to Walker's question. “Don't call me a singleton. Ah, let me tell you guys. I've already found my one.” A silly smile emerged on Walker's lips when he said this. “Who? A TV actress? News anchor?” Atlas raises a question one after the other. “He must have fallen in love with a character from a comic book he read. Why would you take his announcement seriously?” Kai didn't believe that someone like Walker would find a lover. “I'm not lying. I've definitely found my one. It's true. I…” Seeing that none of them believed him, Walker became annoyed. “Why don't you all believe me? I've really found the love of my life.” Facing this scenario, a smile crept upon Sylvia's lips. But she didn't stay long in their midst and strolled towards the huge metal boulder in the distance. It took some minutes for her to comfortably sit on its top. A small package of biscuits appeared on her palm, and she began to munch on them. 'Thank you, Susu. The praise earlier should have been meant for you.' [Not at all. You were the one who landed the blow, not me. I'm just a system that's good at calculation. If I can help the host every time, then that is a better achievement than getting praise.] Hearing the system's words, Sylvia felt a bit touched in her heart. But before she could continue her conversation with Susu, someone had already approached her. Sylvia looked down and saw Ian standing in front of the boulder. The latter soon jumped up and sat on the space next to her. “You were so cool out there.” The words were said from the depths of his heart.“You flattered me,” Sylvia responded. “No, this is not flattering.” Ian turned his head to her cold profile. “You're strong, Sylvia.” Sylvia felt that there was something strange about Ian's gaze, but she still responded out of courtesy. “Thank you, but I'm not as strong as you put me. There are several dragons out there who are much more powerful than I.” “Yes. The universe is so vast. However…” You are the only individual who can make me feel so stupid. Thinking of how rosy Sylvia's appearance had been when she was chasing after the metal-eating beasts, Ian felt his calm heart begin to churn faster. Seeing Ian staring at her with such an intense gaze, Sylvia couldn't help but feel irritated. “Are you okay?” “Yeah.” Ian snapped back into reality and realized that he had just zoned out. “Yes, I'm fine. Hum, what were we talking about?” “I'm not sure. I'm going to Atlas to talk with him. See you later.” Sylvia didn't bother to wait for his reply before jumping down the boulder. [Host, don't you think he's acting strange?] 'You're right.' Sylvia agreed with him this time. There was indeed something strange about Ian's look. Susu had noticed Ian's changes after the psychedelics monarch butterfly incident. He felt that the changes must be related to the illusion. Just what did he experience inside the illusion world? Susu had only managed to capture a glimpse of an old man standing in front of a grave when he pulled Ian out of the illusion.Such scenery couldn't have warranted his sudden change, right? Although he didn't arrive at any answers at the end, Susu still warned. [Stay away from him, host. I don't have any good feelings about him.]
