Chapter 147 Meeting A Familiar Face In The Wilds

Ian stared at Sylvia's departing figure and let out a sigh. He lowered his head and looked down at his palm in loss. Ever since he found out about his feelings for Sylvia, he could tell that something was changing inside him. Second by second, he finds himself always wanting to look at her. He didn't know why, but he just wanted to imprint that cold image of hers into his mind forever. “No. This is not right.” Yes, none of it is right. In fact, it seems crazy that the girl he had rejected was the one he fell for. Just when did he begin to develop feelings for Sylvia? Was it the day he first saw her smile? Ha-ha. Of course, Ian knew that it wasn't. His feelings had begun during the interschool competition. The young girl, after beating up several students who bullied her had looked at him who stood at the entrance of the cafeteria with cold eyes. At that moment, he was taken aback by her sudden change and began to pay some attention to her. But who would have thought… Yeah, who would have thought that he would eventually fall for her in the end? 'Master.' A soft voice filled with curiosity rang inside his head. 'You haven't fallen for that person, have you?' Ian didn't reply to the question and just continued to stare at his palm. Huji began to panic when he saw this. No, master. You can't. Do you know that the girl you're interested in is a two-faced devil? You don't want me to be bullied to death, do you? Even if you fall for all the girls in this world, it shouldn't be that two-faced devil. This was what Huji wanted to say, but the young dragon couldn't bring himself to utter it. What if his master became depressed after hearing his words? It's better to keep silent. However, thinking Sylvia would end up with Ian in the future, he couldn't help but shiver in fear. No! I must persuade the master. 'Master, I…' “Don't mention anything regarding her to me.” Ian cut in before the young dragon could begin his persuasion. 'Ah,' Huji was surprised to hear this. 'Okay.' The young dragon could only continue to lie in silence inside the contract space. … Seeing that Sylvia was coming in his way, Atlas asked her. “Are you injured somewhere? Do you want me to cast some healing ability on you?” “No.” Sylvia shook her head. “I'm not injured.” “You must be tired after working for several hours. Here, let me cast some rejuvenating spell on you.” As he mentioned this, a white light enveloped his palm and fell over Sylvia's body. Sylvia felt the soreness in her body vanish. She looked up at Atlas in gratitude. “Thank you.” “No worries. This is my job as a healer.” Around the same time, Tyron and Miley came back from their short discussion. “Boss, what were you and the vice president discussing?” Milo gazed at Tyron with a teasing expression. “I almost thought that you went on a honeymoon vacation.” “Scram.” Tyron kicked his foot out at Milo. “Ha-ha. The boss must be very shy.” Milo dodged the attack and hid behind Kai's frame. Tyron didn't bother arguing with him and focused on the others. “Miley and I have decided that we are going to camp here. So, start setting up the sleeping tents before it gets darker. Walker, go spread out the beast-repelling powder around the area.” “Right away.” Just as everyone was about to begin their task, Tyron's sharp ears perked up, detecting a rustling sound inside the bush. “Who's there?” Surely, the intruder wasn't a beast because if it were, it would have dashed out during their weakest moment. Hence, the only thing that could have made such a sound must be a human. Tyron's gaze became sharp as he stared in the direction the rustling sound had stemmed. Everyone became alert, putting on a defensive posture. Ian climbed down from the boulder, joining the team. “If you don't show yourself, I don't mind resulting in violence.” Tyron gave out the last warning. Perhaps the other party realized that stalling longer wouldn't do any good; the rustling sound became louder, and soon, several figures emerged from the bush one after the other. “Hello, I'm sorry to intrude on your spot.” The buff man who stood at the front spoke out.Tyron scrutinized this new group of people before him. When he saw that they were all wearing combat suits, he knew that they must be mercenaries. Just in time, he caught one of them putting the invisible cloak on his body inside the storage ring. No wonder he didn't detect their existence from the beginning. If not for the rustling sound he had caught, perhaps all of their actions would have been under the watch of these people today. Thinking of this, Tyron's expression became gloomy. “This spot has been taken. So, please leave right now.” The man in front had already expected that Tyron would react this way, but he did not attempt to leave with the group of people behind him. He's not crazy to leave just because the other party says so. It was already late in the evening, and one should know that the nighttime is the most dangerous period in the wild. Besides, he and his group had walked up several miles to arrive at this place. Initially, they planned to hunt down the metal-eating beasts in the area. But since Tyron and his members had already gotten there before them, they could only cancel their plan. Still, that doesn't mean that they would leave the safe place they found. “Mr. Tyron.” “You know me?” Tyron's brow rose in surprise, seeing that the other party knew who he was. “Ha-ha. Who wouldn't recognize the renowned president of the Tyron guild?” The man put on a flattering smile. “I'm sure that every mercenary on the planet has heard of your amazing feats.”“Okay, stop beating around the bush. What do you want to say exactly?” Tyron cut in before the man could continue with his praise. The leader smiled, seeing that Tyron wasn't urging them to leave again. “My team and I have just gotten here from a fierce battle. I know that this is the territory that you found, but can you please let us spend the night here? You know how tenacious it is at night in the wilds.” They were all mercenaries who struggled to make ends meet. It wouldn't be good to make it hard for each other. However, before deciding, Tyron looked at Miley and the others for confirmation. Seeing that none of them said a word of refusal, he turned to look at the leader. “Okay, you and your team members can stay here.” “Thank you. Thank you so much. You are just as good as the rumors say, Mr. Tyron. My guild would never forget your favor.” Tyron nodded at him before turning to set up his tent. Sylvia looked over at the new group of people who would be staying with them for the night. Perhaps because it was the first time she would meet other mercenaries in the wilds, Sylvia was somewhat curious about them. As she scanned through the 13 members, her gaze suddenly paused on one of the figures for a slight second before shifting away. She turned around and joined Miley in setting up the tent. However, the figure whom Sylvia had just looked at had a shocking expression on his face. His mouth was wide agape as he stared at Sylvia, who was working in the distance. Getting Tyron's approval, the buff man turned to his team and began to speak. “They've permitted us to stay. So get ready and start setting up the tent. We will have dinner after that.”“Okay, boss.” The people began to move, apart from a figure who stood rooted in the same spot. The leader's brow furrowed when he saw this. Especially when he saw that the figure was none other than the young man he had just recruited today. “Why are you still standing, Julian? Don't tell me that you don't know how to set up a tent!” “No.” Julian was snapped back into reality at the roar. “Then get to work!” “Yes.” Julian hurriedly went to choose a spot and began to set up his tent. But occasionally, his gaze would settle on that familiar figure in the distance. He was definitely sure that the person he saw was Sylvia. There's no way he would mismatch that cold expression on her face. But what's Sylvia doing out here in the wilds? How did she become acquainted with the Tyron guild?
