Chapter 110 Passionate Welcome

The third-year students were seated in their classroom, busy discussing the newly published result. Suddenly, the door of their classroom was pushed open, and their homeroom teacher, who had previously berated them for their bad performances, entered the classroom once again. “Huh, isn’t Mr. Reece done reprimanding us? Or could it be that he enjoys the feeling of scolding us?” A brown hair boy muttered to himself as he watched the figure of the man walking straight to the standing platform. “Mr. Reece, do you have—” Before the boy could finish his sentence, he suddenly caught a glimpse of the principal figure standing at the doorstep. “Damm, what’s the principal doing here?” Could it be that the bad performances of our class have already alarmed the latter? “Sit upright, everyone!” Reece ordered the students with a stern expression. However, he was thinking: Tut, tut. Just take a look at their disorderliness. This was the first time the principal would visit our class, yet he had to witness them in this state. I’ll make sure to give them a piece of my mind after this announcement. “Hmm, hmm.” The principal cleared his throat while walking in, almost as if he wasn’t the one who had just witnessed the earlier chaotic scene. The female student who had been following behind him also stepped into the classroom. With the presence of the principal, the students immediately sat upright, maintaining the image of good students. They were all wondering the reason why the principal had visited their class unannounced. “Well, I will keep it short.” The principal stood beside the homeroom teacher before gesturing to the female student who had come with him. “This is Sylvia Austen. She will be your new classmate as from next session. Due to an error on our side, she was assigned to the first-year class. Now that we’ve rectified it, she will be transferred back to the fourth-year class with you.” “That’s right. Sylvia will be a classmate with you guys from the next session, so ensure you treat her well.” Reece also inserted. “Yes, sir.” The students shouted in unison.A male student with a gold-rim eyeglass got on his feet. His whole aura emits a scholarly vibe. “Good morning, Sylvia. My name is Uast. I’m the class captain of the third-year class. It’s an honor to welcome a top scholar like you in the part of our midst.” With his gentle smile, Uast appearance gave one a positive impression. With the current development of healthcare technology, it is almost rare to see someone with a congenital disease. Or someone wearing eyeglasses like Uast. Or perhaps the latter just seems to love wearing glasses. “Hello.” Sylvia bowed politely in greetings towards him. “Since that’s all, I will take my leave now. Mr. Reece, I’ll leave any further instructions up to you.” The principal nods towards Reece. “Yes, principal.” With respect, Reece escorted the principal outside the doorstep. After the principal departure, he turned back his attention to the classroom. “Let’s see if there’s an empty se—” “Over here! Over here!” A brunette-haired girl shouted with enthusiasm as she lifted her hand. “There’s an empty seat beside me.” “Damm, that girl. She always beat me to it at every opportunity.” One of the male students who was about to speak up let out a scowl when he saw that someone had already taken his chance. However, there was no way he would back down to his rival. He instantly raises his voice, “There’s also an empty beside me too, Mr. Reece. Look, it’s even by the window side. I’m pretty sure Sylvia would love to enjoy a constant refreshing breeze every time she comes to class.” “Hey, Sanchez. What do you think you’re doing?” The brunette-haired girl turned her head and gave the boy a hard glare before turning her sight back on Reece. “I spoke first, Mr. Reece. You know this is a first come first serve rule.” “Of course not. It’s about the quality rule. The seat next to me is in a favorable condition than yours. Sylvia can also bath in the afternoon glow of the sun if she sits here.”“Bathing in the sun makes you tan. I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t want to end up like you. My place here is in a cooler shade. With the constant supply of air coming from the air conditioner, she does not need to worry about a breeze or getting tan.” “You…” Seeing the two parties arguing, Reece knew that choosing either of them would result in the other party’s displeasure. But thinking of it, it wasn’t in his place to decide who got to sit where. Hence, he decided to pass the ball over to Sylvia. “Since none of you two are backing down, I will leave it over to Sylvia to decide where she wants to sit. So, what’s your choice, Sylvia? Do you want to sit next to Urea or beside the window seat next to Sanchez?” From the moment she stepped into the classroom, Sylvia was taken aback by the warm welcoming stance of the students. She thought she would receive the same reaction as she did the first time she arrived at the first-year class, but it turned otherwise. Facing the two hopeful gazes of the student before her, Sylvia was stuck with words to say. Both seats were great but she preferred being seated by the window side as this would make her less noticeable in the classroom. “I want to sit over there.” She pointed at the seat beside Sanchez. “Yes.” Sanchez let out a cry of jubilation. Urea on the on the other hand had a pout on her face. She turned her head sideways and gave Sanchez who was celebrating a cold glare. “Fine. You win this round.” Knowing that this would be their new seating arrangement in the next session, Urea could only bite her cheeks in regret. Why wasn’t I sitting next to a window seat? Now I’ve missed the opportunity of being seated beside the top scorer. “Okay. That’s final then. Since the summer holiday trip is coming up, you guys can get to know each other well during the event.” Reece announced before leaving class. While leaving, he felt as if he was forgetting something but couldn’t recall what it was. Well, let’s just forget it then. The student who had luckily escaped another round of scolding instantly encircled Sylvia, asking her one question after the other. “Are you the Sylvia Austen who beat Louis in the pre-test exam?” “Of course, it’s her. Didn’t you that her appearance is the same as the image circulating on the academy forum.” “Wow, bath me in your glory master.” “Is it true that you have a contracted beast king? Can you please show me?” “Hey, don’t you think that your request is too outrageous? The appearance of a beast king on the school premises would alarm the whole school.” “Oh, that’s right. Then what about during the summer holiday? Please. I’m dying of curiosity here.” “Huh, okay.” Sylvia unconsciously agreed to the other party's request. “Ahem.” Uast gave a fake cough. “Okay, that’s enough everyone. You’ll make student Sylvia feel uncomfortable with your numerous questions.” “Ah. Then let’s discuss with each other during the summer camp holiday.” “Oh, and can you give me your contact info please, Sylvia.” “Me too.” “Can I get your virtual net ID name in addition to it?” “Me too.” “Me too your head. Scamper away, everyone.” Uast shouted, almost betraying his scholarly demeanor. “Sorry, student Sylvia. They’re just happy to have you in their midst.” “I see. Then I’ll take my leave.” While leaving, Sylvia could still hear their lingering voice behind her. “Now that I’ve shaken hands with the genius, I feel that I’m going to do well in my exam next session.” “I shook her hands a little longer than you. My name is going to be among the top ten ranks in the next session.” “Ah, keep on dreaming.” While outside, Susu’s voice sounded inside Sylvia’s head. [Host, I think your new classmates are so…] “Hot-blooded,” Sylvia answered the latter thought. Even she hadn’t recovered from their passionate welcome. [I think you made the right decision by deciding to change classes. If it were me among those first-year students, I would have gone crazy from all the hate against me.] ‘Hmm,’ Sylvia didn’t make any more words. Hate, disgust, envy, jealousy, and so on. They are all part of the negative side of human emotion. Yet Sylvia had already experienced them all. Surprisingly, she was able to have a calm state of mind. But that’s due to her simple thinking. As long as you are good to her, she will be good to you. But as for those who try to harm, she wouldn’t mind repaying them in their coin. Perhaps it might seem she had let Aviva off easily but underground, Aviva’s parents were currently fighting hard to keep their company from bankrupting. But sooner or later, the wealthy lifestyle of the proud rich girl would soon come to an end.
