Interstellar Businesswoman Tycoon
“Hello, Sylvia. I just got the notification from the academy about your results. Congratulations on coming out as the top ace of the school.” Mike said on the other end of the phone. “Oh, look at me. I didn’t even realize that you were already finishing the session. Why don’t you pick a date? I promise to make it up to you and Asher.” “It’s alright, Uncle Mike.” Sylvia was seated on the big white sofa in the sitting room. Right across from her was Asher who was busy playing with his newly gifted toy. “I know you’re very busy with the company’s affairs. I can understand why you couldn't visit during this while.” “Thanks for being understanding, Sylvia. Once the two companies have been fully organized, I promise to spend my whole time with you and Asher.” Mike promised. “Okay. I'll note it down.” “Ha-ha-ha.” Mike burst into laughter. “Of course, you should. Take care of yourself, sweetheart. And say hello to Asher for me.” “Hmm.” The call ended. A second later, the light brain on Sylvia's wrist beeped. Looking down at the screen, she saw the alert notification of money being transferred to her account. A brief message was also attached to it. ‘Here’s a bit of a gift for you, darling. You can use it to take yourself out for some shopping. You can ask me for more if it's not enough for your outing. Uncle loves you.’ Bit? Sylvia gazes at the dazzling number of zeros on the screen. It seems like her desire to live a carefree life is finally coming true. [Are you going to get me some cores now, host?] Like a greedy wolf, Susu began to eye the amount of money in Sylvia's account. Despite spending almost all of her wealth on him, it still wasn't enough. Well, it wasn't his fault that he was this greedy. Ever since he absorbed that red core energy, his stomach had gone through a massive transformation. No matter how much energy he absorbed, the latter was like a big void hole that kept wanting to swallow everything up. Susu was afraid that this would stunt his growth in the future. He would rather not become a useless assistant on his host side. Hence, he could only try to absorb more energy so that he could fill up this bottomless pit as soon as possible. “Yes,” Sylvia answered. “I’m going to check online to see if there's any high-grade beast core on sale.” She logged into a shopping app and began to scroll around the homepage. There were several high-grade beast cores on sale, but their purchase price was astronomical. Even as a rich woman, the whole money in her account was only worth buying an S-rank beast core. Of course, if she wanted to have more money, she could just sell all the materials in her storage ring. The talent fruits and the precious materials she obtained from the research center were still in her hold. Selling one or two of them could fetch her a huge amount of money. However, she was smart enough not to make such choices. Once those materials appear in the outside world, there will definitely be someone investigating her background in the dark. And that would be relatively annoying. Thinking of the talent fruit, Sylvia asked, “Can children eat the talent fruit?” She stared at Asher, who was engrossed in his play. Both her and Sky's talent had already been pushed up to the SSS rank limit. Eating more of it provides no subtle change in rank. Looks like SSS rank is the upper limit the talent fruit can push one's talent up to. There were still some fruits left, which she had planned to give Mike but hadn't found a way to do so. It would be great if Asher could eat the talent fruit. [No.] Susu answered. [Although harmless, the talent fruit contains a brimming amount of energy. For kids like Asher who don’t know how to control the energy in their body yet, ingesting it will lead them to bleed from the seven orifices before eventually leading to their death.] A memory then resurfaced in Sylvia's mind. It was that of the previous owner when she was 10 years old. She was being taught by her father to activate the energy in her body. “I guess we will have to wait for Asher to grow up then.” Hearing the mention of his name, Asher ran towards Sylvia and snuggled into her embrace. “Sister.” “Hmm.” Sylvia leaned forward and kissed him on the cheeks. Since he had just had a cup of milk, the latter breath smelled milky. “Keep on playing. Sister will go to the garden to water the plants.” The plants were the cabbages and other vegetable plants she had seen in the garden when she first came to this world. Since people had no idea that they were edible, they had just planted them like an ornamental flower. But now, all households knew that this unimportant plant could make one a delicious meal. All thanks to Creamery Creamer. === Days went by and the summer academy camp holiday arrived at the door. Having ordered everything they needed to be delivered to the campsite, Sylvia was stressed-free about having to pack up anything they would need for the two-day holiday. Yes, they. She intends to bring Asher, Lis, and the nanny robot ‘Bai’ along with her. Even if she could leave the robot, there was no way she would let Asher and the small fox be alone at home by themselves. Although Susu could take care of everything at home, she wouldn't be at ease since there was no elder to watch over them. Uncle Mike is already busy with work and Miley has also gone to her parent's house to spend a week time with them. So, bringing them along with her was the only option. “Okay, it’s time for us to leave.” Sylvia chose a grey Hoover car as her ride for today since it’s the one with the biggest space among the various collections of cars. Asher sat down obediently in the back seat, with the safety belt around him. His sister had said they were going somewhere to have fun so he was delighted. Being the first time it would leave the house, Lis was surprisingly obedient and sat silently on Asher's thighs. Sylvia drove toward the location of the summer camp event. The location is a flat ground area, spanning several miles. Ever since buildings could now be constructed in the air, there was a lot of land available for use. Hence, it won't be a problem for each academy to set up their campsite. Sylvia arrived at her destination, joining the queue of cars at the entrance. Most were parents who were bringing their children to the camp since not many were privileged enough to drive a car like Sylvia. At the side, various small stalls were set up with their goods being displayed in their stalls. Sylvia was quite surprised as most of the names of the stalls belonged to well-known brand companies. Her car slowly moved away from the traffic before pulling up at the parking lot. She got out of the car along with the robot, Asher, and Lis. “Hold on to me tightly so that you won’t get lost among the wave of the crowd.” She said as she leaned downward to carry the fat beast cub into her embrace before stretching her right hand out to Asher. “Hmm.” Asher nodded gently and held her palm tightly. The four began to move away from the parking lot. Using the GPS location device on her light brain, she found out where the Hermes Academy campsite was located and began to head there. In the midway, Sylvia suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure standing in front of one of the stalls. “Uncle Mike.” She called out. The figure hearing his name, turned around looking for the direction the call came from. “Sylvia.” Noticing the two tall and small figures, Mike burst into a grin and ran over to them. “Oh, Asher, how’re you doing?” He stretched out his palm and ruffled Asher's combed hair. “Uncle.” Asher let out a toothy smile. “And this must be Lis.” Mike also noticed the small beast cub in Sylvia’s embrace. “You’ve grown bigger. The last time I saw you, you were just this size.” He pats the latter on the head. “Eek, eek.” Lis let out a beast cry. The beast cub was only familiar with Sylvia and Asher. So, to it, Mike was an unfamiliar stranger. Hence, it began to feel disturbed upon his touch. “It’s okay, Lis. Uncle Mike is also a family member.” Sylvia pats the squirming beast to calm it down. “Ha-ha. It looks like it doesn’t recognize me.” Mike had only seen Lis once, and that was when the latter was still a milky cub. “What are you doing here, Uncle Mike?” Sylvia later asked what was in her heart. “The company is doing a promotion campaign here. Every summer holiday event, companies like us set up their stall here offering free goods samples. Although it’s said to be free, it’s also a way these companies get to advertise their product to the masses. Since the academy's summer holiday camp has a huge crowd turnover, no company will miss this chance to promote their products.” “Oh, I see.” Sylvia nodded. “Well, the company doesn’t need the publicity since we have the federation as our backing. But since I haven’t been spending time with you guys, I thought I’d make use of the summer camp event to make it up to you two.” “That’s quite sweet of you, uncle.” Sylvia let out a smile. “Your classmates are first-year students, right? I’ll tell the staff to send a cup of milk tea and some snacks to each of them all.” “No, I’m not close with them.” Sylvia rejected the offer. “Besides, I’ve already been shifted to the third-year class. So, by the next session, I'll be starting as a fourth student. Since they would be my new classmates, you can give the milk tea and snacks to them instead.” “Is that so? Did the first-year students make you uncomfortable? Were you bullied by them?” Mike's expression became worried. “No. I’m just not close to them. Everything is fine.” “If that’s so, then I'll send the snacks over to your new classmates.” “Okay, bye.” She waved.“Bye. Have a great day Asher. And hello to you, Bai.” Mike smiled as he bid them farewell. Being greeted, Bai put on a smiley emoticon on its face screen as it left. === 'Click, click.' In a small corner, the constant sound of the camera fills the whole space. “Jeez, that's Sylvia. How is she familiar with the CEO of Creamery Creamer?” The figure in the corner had a look of curiosity. “Or could it be… Ah.” The quiet gasp echoed through the small space.
