Interstellar Businesswoman Tycoon
Faced with their blatant allegation, Sylvia felt like laughing out loud. It looks like Louis's position in their hearts is that of an undefeated god of war. However, would she bother wasting her time to satisfy their curiosity? No! She took a step forward, planning to walk out of the classroom. But before she could continue her next course of action, the door of the classroom was pushed open, revealing their homeroom teacher's figure. “What is going on here?” As she walked into the classroom, the homeroom teacher's gaze swept across the whole class before settling on the few students who were on their feet. She had heard the loud commotion from the classroom when she was about to arrive at the entrance. Her brow immediately furrowed at the student’s misconduct. Her voice turned stern as she asked, “Tell me, what’s all the noise about?” One of the male students who was on his feet hurriedly stepped forward and answered. “Ma’am, we were just discussing the error published inside the academy results.” “Error?” The homeroom teacher’s furrowed expression switched to that of a confused look when she heard the student answer. “How can there be an error? Before the results are uploaded to the public for viewing, they are first sent to the exam board where they pass through a rigorous screening to ensure that there’s no error in them. So, are you trying to tell me that the exam board is so lacking in their duty?” “I…” The student was put in a tough position. If he were to agree to the teachers’ words, then it would mean he admits that the exam board was indeed lacking in their duty. “Surely, the board would never overlook any error in the results. But ma’am, Louis's name isn’t on the ranking list. It can’t be that he cheated in the exam right, because that would sound absurd.” “Oh.” The homeroom teacher soon realizes what had caused the earlier commotion among them. “Go back to your seats, everyone.” She stood on the podium, facing the direction of the classroom. Sylvia, who was planning to leave the classroom could only retract her steps and went back to her seat. The others also went back to their seat one by one. Although a bit unwilling, Julian could only follow the teacher’s order and sat down.“I’m sure you must all have seen your results by now. Since it’s your first year in the academy, I’ll slack on admonishing those who performed poorly in the exam. Nonetheless, the one who surprised me the most in this exam is none other than Sylvia.” The teacher looked in Sylvia’s direction, her eyes full of happiness. “Not only did she come first in the whole class; but she also took the lead position in the overall rank as well. That’s an amazing feat.” A female student raises her hand, ready to talk. “But she –” “I know what you’re trying to say.” The teacher cut in. “Indeed, Louis’s name doesn’t appear on the ranking list. That’s because Louis himself decided to hop out of school at the last minute before the exam started. We did try to change his mind but he seems adamant on dropping out.” “What? No way! Has he gone crazy?” “The last minute before the exam starts? If he isn’t crazy, then I don’t know what else to classify him as.” “But why? This is his final year in high school. He could have just taken the exam and successfully graduated rather than become a dropout.” “So does this mean that Sylvia's result is correct?” “Damm, I should have realized it the moment he placed his bet on her. Now my allowance for this month is gone.” A student who had placed his bet on Louis cried out. “Okay, that’s enough!” The homeroom teacher slapped on the table, quietening the rowdy atmosphere. “He must have had his reason for making such a decision, so any foul words against him shall warrant a punishment from me. Also, Riley.” Her gaze shifted to the student who was seated in the back corner of the classroom. “I heard you were the one who set up a betting poll on the forum. See me after this speech.” Riley’s expression deflated the moment he heard the homeroom teacher’s sentence. The teacher continued. “Well, I guess if not all, some of you should be aware of the summer gathering holiday that takes place after the end of the exam. It’s a two-day gathering holiday where students from all academies come together to share knowledge and pointers. It’s a compulsory gathering, so all of you must be present at the campsite.” “Yes.” They all chorused. “A full detail of what the event entails will be shared with you on the academy forum. So, you can read it to understand what the event is all about.” After concluding her speech, the teacher called Sylvia’s name. “Sylvia, the principal wishes to have a talk with you in his office. You can follow right behind me as I head out.” “Okay.” Sylvia got to her feet and followed after the teacher. The moment the two left, a lively atmosphere burst across the classroom. “Wow.” “I can’t believe she made it to the top of the whole school.” “I should have known better. For her to have contracted a beast king means she’s an outstanding person.” “She’s a genius we can only hope to be.” “Do you think that Sylvia is going to be dissatisfied with me?” The female student who had supported Julian’s word earlier spoke. “I only said that because I thought there was a mistake in the school result.” “Heh.” Mia who had been listening from the side let out a snort. “No one is going to fall for your green lotus trick, Fancy. Even if you weren’t among those who bullied Sylvia the most, you were still among those who looked down on her secretly. Didn’t you go against her because you resented her for rejecting your friendship?” “What the hell are you saying?” Fancy yelled, giving Mia a dagger stare. “I’ve looked down on her? Tsk, aren’t you and Aviva the ones who did the vilest things to her?” “Mmph” Mia snorted again, not bothering to give Fancy an answer. Instead, she looked in another direction and shouted. “Hey, Julian. Weren’t you all mouth earlier? Why aren’t you saying anything now? And you all.” She turned to those who had spoken badly about Sylvia earlier. “I know you’re all jealous of Sylvia because she is more powerful and intelligent than you all. Aren’t you trash ashamed of yourselves?” “Hey, Mia! Who the hell are you referring to as trash?” One of them became angry “Anyone who answers me.” “You—” “Enough!” Mia shouted. “Enough of your stinky words. Do you know how tiring it is to hear your shitty words every day? What makes you guys different from Aviva? You mightn’t have hurt Sylvia physically but the vile words coming out of your mouth is more heinous than committing a murder. At least, Aviva never bothers concealing her hatred for Sylvia. She’s better than you green tea bitches.” “Mia!” “I said shut up!” Mia screamed. Everyone went silent, wondering if she had gone crazy. “Yes. I do envy Sylvia.” Mia continued. “I envy how she was able to tolerate all of your shit for the past few months. You, you, you. Why am I even pointing? I mean every one of you, you are all bunch of losers.” Saying this, she stormed out of the classroom afterward. “Has she gone crazy or what?” “Dare to speak to us that way, is she unafraid of us retaliating against her.” Everyone was infuriated at Mia’s words. Julian's face was covered in red hue both due to anger and embarrassment. The grip on his palm tightened. “You’re going to regret it. You’re all going to regret it.” He gnashed his teeth together as he muttered. === [Ha-ha-ha] Susu who had just witnessed the exciting show was laughing hysterically in Sylvia’s consciousness. But since she was walking along with the homeroom teacher, Sylvia didn’t have the time to spare and ask what was wrong. They soon arrived in front of the principal’s office. After gaining the approval to come in, the homeroom teacher led Sylvia into the office. As they stepped in, Sylvia noticed the presence of the combat teacher inside the office. She greeted her with a nod. “I’ve brought the student here, principal.” The homeroom teacher announced. “Oh, Ms. Austen.” Seeing Sylvia's arrival, the principal sat upright, his face beaming with a smile. “Congratulations on your wonderful performance in the exam. You’re the shining star of our academy.” “Thanks for your compliment, principal.” “Mrs. Kent, you’ve done a great job by raising such an outstanding student.” The principal said to the homeroom teacher who was standing beside Sylvia. “Ah, I didn’t do much work. It’s all due to Sylvia’s hard work.” Mrs. Kent had a smile on her face as she said. She didn’t try to take all the praise as she knew she hadn’t given Sylvia any special treatment. She had treated her just like she treated the other students. “Then you may take your leave. I would love to speak alone with your student.” “Okay.” Mrs. Kent left the room but the combat teacher remained where she stood. It could be seen that the principal words were only meant for the homeroom teacher alone. “Congratulations, Sylvia.” Celia opened her mouth and commended. “Thank you,” Sylvia replied with a polite smile. “Is there a reason why you called for me, Principal?” She directs her attention to the principal. “Ah, yes.” The principal leaned forward; his arms resting on the table as he spoke. “Ms. Celia came to me and praised your astonishing performance in the physical assessment.” “That’s right.” Celia nodded. “If it weren’t that I deducted 20 points due to her brutality, she would have achieved a complete mark in the exam.”“That is a great thing to hear. It does show that our academy will be producing a powerful warrior in the future.” The principal applauded. “Ahem, the actual reason why I called for you is that Ms. Celia requested for me to include your name among the participants taking part in the national tournament. However, before I do so, I would like to seek your consent first.” Hearing this, Sylvia glanced sideways at the combat teacher. She could recall that she had already rejected her offer when she asked her about it back them. Sylvia wasn’t too pleased with Celia going back against her words. “Think it through, Sylvia.” Celia saw through Sylvia’s intention and began to persuade her. “The national tournament is a once golden opportunity. Even if you fail to win the match, you might still attract attention from universities on the first-rate planets. It would be shameful for a genius like you to let go of such an opportunity.” “I understand your care Ms. Celia but my answer remains the same. I don’t have any huge ambition to explore outside of the universe. I just want to stay here and enjoy my time with my family.” Sylvia's gaze was cold as looked at her. “You…” Celia choked when she heard her words. “Do you understand the big future you’re giving up?” “Okay. That’s enough right there. Since student Sylvia doesn’t want to go, then we shouldn’t force her. It’s her decision whether she wants to grab the golden opportunity or not.” The principal had a frown on his face. But inside his heart, he was glad that Sylvia refused the offer. The people from the first-rate planets have always looked down on lower-rate planets like them. So why can’t they keep their geniuses to themselves? Why should the first-rate planet grab them all? Although he knew doing this would cut Sylvia’s achievement short in the future, he couldn’t help feeling a bit conflicted when he saw the girl's determined expression. “That’s all to say, student Sylvia. Unless you need anything from me.” When she heard this, a thought came across Sylvia’s mind “About that.”
