Sylvia’s life returned back to her usual routine once school start. Since the exam date was nearing the corner, there was a high reading influx among the students. Just by walking around the school premises, you could see several students sitting around with their face buried in different kinds of study materials. At this time of period, the school library was constantly overflowing with students. To ensure that they would be able to study properly, the school gave a week free of lectures to the students. Sylvia was at home, inside the study room as she busily prepares for the upcoming exam. Displayed in front of her was a holographic screen, filled with the notes she had taken in class. “Sister!” A round figure dashed into the study room, interrupting her evening reading. Trailing behind the figure was a white fluffy beast. Lis seems to have become bigger than he previously was. If his previous size was compared to a rabbit, the young cub now looks no less than the size of a small puppy. “Woo, woo.” The baby fox let out a bark as he wags his tail. “What is it Asher? Do you need something from me?” Sylvia turned her head sideways and looked at the young boy. “No.” Asher shook his head as he walked forward. “You’ve been staying in this place for so many times. Could it be that you’re sick? Ayaan said that it is very painful to be sick. I don't want to see you in pain, sister.” Sylvia lips unknowingly curl up into a smile hearing the innocent worry on the little boy’s mouth. She reached out and lifted the young boy into her embrace. “Eek, eek.” Lis cried out, showing that he also wants to be lifted up. “Okay. Just don't touch any of the devices on the desk.” Sylvia lifted the beast cub onto the table desk. Since beasts are known to have a high awareness, Lis could perfectly understand what Sylvia said and sat down on the desk obediently. Seeing that she doesn’t have to worry about the fox, Sylvia turned her attention to Asher who was in her embrace. “Don’t worry, Asher. I’m not sick. Sister is just busy studying for her upcoming exam.” Although she didn't need Asher to understand how stressful studying for an exam is, she still gave an explanation in order to ease the little guy’s worry. Learning that she wasn't sick, the young boy reverts back to his cheerful state. His feet kept dangling as he moved closer into her embrace, perhaps wanting to feel the warmth emitting from her body. Noticing his actions, Sylvia didn’t stop him and continued reading from where she had previously stopped. Soon, an hour went by. Sylvia noticed that Asher's breathing had become fainter. Looking over, she saw that the little fella already has his eyes closed, showing that he was deeply asleep. Just as she was about to stand up, Lis let out a low whimper. “Shh.” Lis seems to have understand her order and stopped whimpering. Sylvia then got up to her feet and walked towards the big sofa in the study room before lying the sleeping Asher on it. The other party unconsciously jerk up from his slumber and let out a low cry. Catching that he wasn’t fully yet awake, Sylvia immediately pats him gently on the back and puts him back to sleep. She was about to leave when she suddenly felt a furry sensation below her leg. Looking down, she saw Lis rubbing against her leg. “Do you also want to take a nap?” “Woo.” The fox cub let out a low bark in answer. “Okay.” Sylvia carried the fox cub and placed him beside Asher. “You can have your nap. I'll wake you two up once it's time for dinner.” Lis lie down on sofa, his head placed above his tail that was used as a makeshift pillow and fell asleep. With the two of them asleep, Sylvia went back to her desk. When she was about to sit down, her eyes inadvertently caught the recording device that was carelessly placed in the corner of the desk. She smoothly reached out for it as she sat down. The recording device in her hand wasn’t the one Ian had found, but instead the one Yatran had used as a container to protect his soul for thousands of years. Sylvia would have forgotten about it if she hadn't spotted it when sorting out the stuffs in her storage ring last night. To her surprise, the device wasn’t just an empty shell. Inside it was stored all the confidential information carried on inside the Abyssal research center. If their discovery of the research center could cause an uproar in the entire universe, then the information stored in this device would definitely lead to a bigger uproar across the universe. Sylvia has a big frown on her face as she stared at the hot potato in her hand. [I've already stored all the data on the device in my system. If you still feel that it's unsafe to keep the device with you, I can help you destroy it, host.] Susu suggested. Sylvia pondered for a moment before nodding in agreement. Before long, the small device that could have brought a huge change to the whole universe was totally disintegrated before her eyes. Maybe because she has been worrying too much, Sylvia’s mind felt at ease when she saw that the device was finally gone. If someone were to see this, they would have berated Sylvia harshly for failing to make use of such golden opportunity. But why would Sylvia care about their opinion. In her previous life, her whole life has been on edge just so she could survive to see another day. Now that she doesn’t have to live like that anymore, she only aims for a peaceful life. However, if Sylvia had known that her life would turned chaotic in the next moment, perhaps her decision today might have changed. === “Damm, it's exam day. My whole body is shaking.” “Me too. I couldn't sleep well last night because I was busy cramming the topics I haven’t read.” “At least you both had time to read. Last week, I made a prank on my sister. She was so angry that she swore to pay me back. Who would have thought she would retaliate by putting a bowel inducing pill in my drink. I had to spend the whole week at the hospital. I was just discharge last night. I didn’t even bother to open up a book since there’s no escape of me failing this exam.” The poor boy narrates his own experience. “Oh my, so sorry bro. Your sister really went too far with the revenge.”“Yeah. At least a few beatings would have been better. My condolence, brother.” The boy had a wry smile on his face as he listens to his friends console him. Sylvia who was behind the trio also felt pity for the poor boy. That’s why there’s a saying that ‘never underestimate a girl’s vengeance’. If a girl says that she’s bound to get you, then she’s definitely going to get you real good. Sylvia walked past them and continued walking over to her class. Just as she was about to make a turn at the alleyway, a figure suddenly stepped right in front of her. If she hadn't made a pause in time, she would have bump into the other party. “Hello.” Louie grinned as he waves his hand at the girl in greeting. However, the person in question doesn’t seem to welcome his arrival at all. Upon seeing the annoyed expression on the girl’s face when she realized that it was him, his smile became even more pleasant. “What do you want?” Sylvia glared at the man who had just blocked her way. “It’s a refreshing day, isn't it?” Louie glanced at the passing by students as he said this. If it was before, Louie appearance in the hallway would have garnered a lot of onlookers. But since most of the students were feeling nervous due to the arrival of the exam, not many people looked in his way. Perhaps, only a few female students who blushed as a result being captivated by his handsome appearance. “You seem quite confident today, don't you? Most people would have fall under pressure of the exam while you... How should I put it.... Ha-ha, your expression is just as stoic as always.” He chuckled. “Get lost!” Sylvia coldly uttered as she stepped to the side to walk past him. “Wait, don't discard me yet.” Louie, already familiar with Sylvia’s cold stance wasn't embarrassed by her action at all. He hurriedly matched on with her pace. “Do you know that a voting poll was made on the two of us to see who will come out as ace in this exam.” He glanced sideways, perhaps wanting to see her reaction but what greeted him was that same indifferent expression. That was somewhat expected. He then continued. “You must not have been very conversant with what’s going on in the school forum. Well, you don’t have to worry about in. I’ve already pressed in my vote for you, so I hoped you wouldn't disappoint me.” Sylvia kept on walking, as if she didn't hear all what he had just said. Suddenly, she felt a warm breath against her neck. She swiftly swung her palm fiercely at the owner of that breath. “Yo.” Louie hurriedly back off and caught the palm that was aiming for his neck. Catching a sigh of the wind energy that was floating on the top of Sylvia’s palm, he let out a chuckle. “I was only teasing you a bit and you were already aiming for life. You are indeed fierce a person.” Sylvia expression was icy as she stared at Louie. She knew that the later party has hidden his strength deeply, so it wasn’t surprising that he was able to catch her attack. “Get your filthy hands off me!” Her eyes were already burning with rage. If it wasn’t that she was being restricted by the school rules, she would have summoned out Sky long ago and fight head-on with him. “Okay, I'll let go. Don't get angry.” Louie saw the change in her expression and immediately let go. “If you dare approach me again, I swear it won't just be this strike but your life instead.” Louie felt the bloodthirsty aura radiating from her body and knew she wasn’t joking with her threat. Sylvia finished her sentence and walked away. Louie watched the girl’s departing figure with a somewhat infatuated look. “She’s surely keeps surprising me every time I think I knew her well.” He clicked his tongue in amusement and was about to leave when the light brain on his wrist suddenly made a beep. Louie glance over and saw the eight words message displayed on the screen. 'The president wants you back home, young master.' A sneer appeared on his face as he read it. He lifted his head away nonchalantly as if he hadn’t seen what was written on the screen and glanced at the receding figure in the distance. “What to do? I'm definitely going to miss teasing her.” It seems like he wouldn't be able to witness that icy expression on her face break into pieces. What a shame.
