Interstellar Businesswoman Tycoon
Ian sat in front of his tent after they were done eating. His eyes appear lost as he gazed into the wandering distance. Since everyone have already had their fill, they all sat around the bonfire and began to discuss about their mysterious encounter inside the illusion forest. During their discussion, Ryker eyes suddenly caught Ian figure sitting alone in the distance. “I will be right back.” He instantly made an excuse and stood up from the gathering. While engrossed in his own mundane thoughts, Ian heard the sounds footsteps advancing towards him. Lifting his head up, he was met with Ryker’s appearance. “Well, I think anything that’s worth seeing in this place have all been buried under that big pile of stones.” Ryker showed a smile when he approached Ian. “Do you mind if I drop the honorific when speaking with you?” Ian shook his head. Seeing his response, Ryker immediately stopped being reserved and casually sat beside him. “What are you thinking about? You were also absentminded during the dinner. Is something bothering you?” Although Ian had only been part of their team for a few days, Ryker had already regarded the other person as a teammate. “… Just.” Ian had a wry smile on his face as he shifted his attention back to the desolate scene in the distance. “Let me guess. Is it about Sylvia?” Ian’s head made a sudden turn, his eyes in disbelief as he stared at the other party, not expecting him to have guessed it right. “He-he-he.” Ryker let out a chuckle upon seeing Ian’s shocking reaction. “How did you know that it has to do with her?” “That… anyone could see it at first glance. Ever since she came out, your eyes have been on her. During the dinner, your gaze was following her movement. Any novice who doesn’t know the relationship between you two would have thought that you’ve fallen for her.” Ryker suddenly felt as if he had been enlightened with something and turned to look at Ian with a serious expression. “About Sylvia, you haven't developed any feelings for her, have you?” “...I...” Ian was taken aback by the unexpected question. Could this be how Sylvia had felt when being questioned by Colton in front of the whole crowd. “No.” He finally answered. “That’s a relief to hear. Although Sylvia might look cold on the surface, she’s actually an easygoing person. So, if there’s something troubling you about her, you don’t have to be afraid to approach her.” “I know. Thanks for your consideration.” “Ah, actually I'm not really good at consoling people but I’m glad that I’m able to be of help to you.” Ryker awkwardly touches his nose. “Oh, that reminds me” His eyes lit up as he asked. “Are you the owner of the dragon beast that brought Sylvia out of the rumbles?” Although, it seems like everyone’s attention had been on Sylvia the moment she came out. The group had also noticed the majestic mount below her. But due to the urgency of the situation then, they quickly put away their shocking expression. “Its name is Huji. He's my contract beast.” “Wow, so that’s indeed a dragon beast. I thought that the existence of a dragon was a myth but who would have thought that they actually exist.” Listening to Ryker fascination, Ian lips curl up into a smile. Seeing that it was getting late, Kai puts out the fire and everyone went back to their respective tents to take a rest. Inside the tent, Ian laid inside his sleeping bag. His gaze never left the ceiling coverage as his mind was filled with the question Ryker asked him. 'Do I like her?' Recalling the first time he saw Sylvia smiling, a smile appeared on his face. “It wasn’t a lie that she indeed looks more prettier with a smile on her face.” His mind began to conjure all the different expression on Sylvia face. Starting from her cold expression, to her annoyed look and many more. However, when it stopped at the icy expression he had seen today, Ian’s heart missed a beat. He could swear that in those eyes, he saw a briming disdain for him. Even the way she had wiped her hand in disgust after his touch made his heart ache so bad.“Do I like her?” Ian questioned again. “It seems that I do like her.” At that moment, a sudden wave of realization hit him. It was as if his mind had been opened to a new world. He swiftly sat upright and put his hand against his chest. There, he could feel the constant thumping of his heartbeat. “Don't tell me...” His eyes widen in surprise. Just when did he began to like her. ... Sylvia on the other hand had no idea of the turmoil that was going on in a certain person’s heart. She was busy having a conversation with Susu. “How is this possible?” Sylvia checked her profile info once more and saw that she has indeed made a breakthrough in her mental strength. If Susu hadn't informed her about it, she would have been totally clueless. Susu knew that when he was absorbing the energy of the red core energy using Sylvia’s body, a bit of it had seeped into her consciousness prompting her to make a breakthrough. [It should have been when you were being attacked. Since your body was under a huge pressure, your consciousness must have felt the danger, stimulating your body to have a breakthrough.] Since Sylvia has no idea about the body possession, Susu could only make up an explanation. “Is that so.” Although still in disbelief, Sylvia could only accept it since the evidence was right in front of her. She began to read through her profile once again. [Name: Sylvia Austen] [Gender: Female] [Age: 16] [Combat strength: C] [Mental strength: C] [Contract beast: Gael Wolf King] Her mental and combat strength seems to have formed a perfect balance. This is a good thing. Looking over at her age, Sylvia let out a sigh. She has been in this world for several months and now she was already sixteen. How times flies. Putting down the device in her hand, she slipped into the mattress cover. Since they would be heading back to the city tomorrow at full speed, she had better have some rest. Perhaps due to her mental exhaustion, Sylvia fell asleep immediately her body touched the bed. ... The ground floor of the mercenary hall was constantly bustling with activities. The mission board was filled with mercenaries who were about to go on a dangerous journey into the wilds. Sylvia and the others head over to the guild private room as soon as they arrived and began to split the spoils. As for the materials found in the research center, they were left over to Ian and Sylvia since they were the one who obtained it. If it were other guilds, the materials would have been annexed by the guild leader. But the Tyron guild is known to be upright and fair which is the reason why their reputation in the mercenary hall is quite higher than other first-rate guilds. “Then I guess this is a farewell between us, Mr. Tyron. My stay with you and your guild members has been very adventurous. It's a pity that we have to part ways here.” Amos spoke out. Tyron realizes what the other party meant and nodded. “It's also a pleasure to work with you, Mr. Amos. Maybe the next time you have a mind change, you can consider the Tyron guild once more.” “Ha-ha-ha.” Amos let out an awkward laugh. How would he dare to come back to this place once again when he has almost lost his life three times. And this time with him almost putting the crown prince life at risk, there was no way he would dare set foot on here again. “Then, goodbye to you all.” “Goodbye.” They waved back. Amos pulled Ian along with him and dashed out as fast as he can. The passersby stared at him, wondering if there was some monster chasing after him. But how would they know the huge trauma the poor man’s heart had gone during his stay with the Tyron guild.“I guess we won't be seeing them anyone.” Kai spoke out. “Yeah. He must have had a scare after almost losing the crown prince life. I think it's a good thing that they aren't coming back anymore. The feeling of having a ticking time bomb in your hand isn't great at all.” Jose uttered. Everyone nodded, agreeing with his statement. If Ian had lost his life out there, their whole team wouldn't be spare from the emperor's rage either. “Okay. Let's stop talking about them and go tick in for the task completion. Come on Sylvia, let’s go and exchange our goods.” Miley reached for Sylvia’s hand and walked out of the room. === Esme was on seat today. “Hello.” She welcomes the group with a smile. Sylvia nodded at her in greetings. “Did you go somewhere?” Tyron asked. “There was someone else here the last time I came for exchange.” “Ah, I'm so sorry I forgot. I should have told you guys that I was going to take some days off. My twin sister, Elsa puts to bed. Since she lives in another planet, I'd to take some days off in order to visit her.” “Wow, congratulations.” They all congratulate her. “Thank you.” Esme smiled cheerfully. “Can you show me a picture?" Miley asked. “Of course.” Esme pulled out her device. Since she was beside Miley, Sylvia could only join in to take a look at the picture. On the screen was a baby, who was dress in a pink dress. Her plumped cheeks were flushed and her long eyelashes flutters as she blinks on the camera. “Oh my, she's so cute.” Miley’s mommy fever began to act up. “Do you think our baby will be as cute as this?” She showed Tyron the baby picture.Hearing Miley unexpected question, Tyron suddenly began to cough. “Whoa.” Walker and the others began to cheer. “Don't you worry, vice president. The kids you and the boss are going to have will be very cute.” “That's right. With the boss goodlooking face, how could the appearance of your kids not be topnotch.” Ryker also joined in the praise. “How many kids do you want to have vice-president? With the many of us here, you don’t have to worry about hiring a baby sitter.” Milo added. “Shut up.” Tyron glared at him. “Ho-ho-ho, you don't need to be shy, president. We're free laborers, so you don't have to worry about paying us.” Atlas reached out and pats Tyron on the shoulder. “Oh, it seems like we haven't talked about that topic yet. How many babies do you want to have, Tyron?” Miley stared into Tyron’s eyes as she asked. Tyron didn't know whether to laugh or cry right now. He feels so embarrassed that he wished the ground would opened up and swallow him. There was a deep red blush on his cheeks. “Well...” Looking around, he saw that almost everyone on the ground floor was staring at him. Gosh, this is so embarrassing. “I'll follow whatever decision you say darling.” He finally said. “Boo!” The onlookers were disappointed with his answer. “That's unfair. You shouldn't skip the question boss.” “And what's wrong with what I just said. I'll follow whatever decision my wife says and you guys better fuck off.” Tyron glared at them. “Boss is being unfair. This is unacceptable.” Esme watched the fun and giggled. They soon submit their mission quota. Once the contribution points were allocated, they all head out of the hall.“Should we head out for a meal together.” Kai proposed. “I'm sorry but I've to go home.” Sylvia said. “Maybe next time.” They all knew that Sylvia was still in high school and nodded. “Okay. Have a safe ride.” Miley wave at her. “Goodbye, everyone.” Sylvia wave back and split with the group. She hadn't thought that she would spend the night in the wilds. Thankfully, she had brought Asher and Luis to Uncle Mike's house or else, she would be worried about leaving the two alone at home.
