Chapter 379 Picking the Boss

When Raven saw Caroline walk in, his ears twitched twice, and a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. Suddenly, his body grew larger, pinning Snow to the floor. He even bared his teeth at her. Then Raven wagged his tail at Caroline, as if saying, "Human, now that you're here, I'm not holding back anymore." Snow instantly got furious. Caroline blinked in confusion. What on earth is happening? What are these little troublemakers doing? Then she spotted Silver, who had flown out from who-knows-where and landed neatly on the cabinet, watching the scene like an audience member at a show. It felt like there was some secret understanding among these little ones that Caroline just couldn't figure out. She was about to ask what was going on when Snow, who was pinned under Raven, suddenly exploded with rage! Fed up with Raven's dominance, Snow shot out her paw and swiped at Raven's front leg. Raven didn't dodge or flinch—he just took the hit. Jet was still circling in the air, eyes wild with excitement, shouting, "Fight! Fight!" Even after being scratched, Raven didn't get mad or care about the wound on his leg. He simply lifted his paw and swiped right back at Snow's front leg. "Jet, what are they doing?" Caroline finally asked, unable to hold back. "Picking the Boss! Picking the Boss! Snow wants to be the Boss, but Raven says no!" Jet zipped over to Caroline, circled her twice, and shouted the explanation loud and clear. Caroline froze for a second. Wait—this is really a thing? But watching Raven bare his teeth at Snow so fiercely, she couldn't help finding it funny. Yeah, she hoped Raven would always stay that way—happy, competitive, and proudly single. Never even think about getting a girlfriend. Otherwise, he might just regret everything he was doing today. Still, Caroline had zero plans to play matchmaker between the two of them. She just thought the whole scene was hilarious. Meanwhile, Snow and Raven's fight got even more intense. It was like the warm-up phase was over, and now they were going at each other for real. Raven bit down hard on Snow's front leg—blood showed instantly. He clearly wasn't holding back. Snow, obviously weaker, tried to bite Raven's neck but only managed to grab his back instead. Plus, Raven's mutation made his skin way tougher now. Snow's bite didn't even break through. Maybe both started feeling the pain because they began shoving each other away, shaking their heads, and kicking with their hind legs. Their huge bodies rolled across the living room, smashing into everything. First, they wrecked a table. Then, a chair went flying. That was it—Caroline snapped. "Stop it! All of you!" she yelled. She unleashed her power, forming a water ball in her hand and hurling it straight at them. The ball hit both dogs, bursting into a splash that drenched them completely. Then Caroline turned the water into steam, drying them off in an instant. "If you want to fight, take it to the rooftop!" She marched over, grabbed each of them by the ear, and dragged them toward the door. They both froze immediately. Snow still looked defiant, ready to resist, but Raven gave her a hard smack with his paw, and she quieted down. Still, there was a rebellious spark in Snow's eyes. Caroline knew she was about five months old now—right in the rebellious phase, where she'd started ignoring Raven's authority.Jet, still stirring up trouble, shouted from above, "Why fight for Boss? The human is the real Boss!" Snow howled in protest and turned to bite Jet. Jet realized he was in trouble and started swearing at Snow midair. Caroline smacked Snow on the head. "Out! Get out!" Then she pointed at Jet. "You too!" After pushing them both out the door, the two ran straight for the rooftop. Jet and Silver followed eagerly, ready to watch the chaos continue. Caroline looked around at her wrecked living room, rubbing her chin. "Snow ... she's Tyler's, right?" Last time, Tyler had trashed her bedroom, but she hadn't cared much. After all, she had plenty of beds in her storage space—and she'd already decided she wouldn't be staying in this shelter for long anyway. But now? Caroline figured even if Snow needed to learn a lesson about wrecking other people's homes, Tyler definitely had to pay for the damage.
