Stronger Every Time I Die
In contrast to the Tremo family’s downfall, Claudia Corporation was thriving. Ever since Arthur returned from Heaven Island, Claudia Corporation had secured several major projects in just a matter of days. Their stock value had skyrocketed. Even the Walker Group’s shares had climbed several notches. After partnering with Claudia Corporation, the collaboration between the two companies had only grown deeper. As Claudia Corporation rose, the Walker Group naturally benefited alongside them. Gray Corporation had already been merged into Claudia Corporation, pushing the company to an entirely new level. It was now beginning to show signs of overtaking the Tremo family’s position in the market. At the current pace, it was only a matter of time before Claudia Corporation replaced the Tremo Group completely. Finley had dared to lay hands on someone close to Arthur. He should’ve been ready for complete destruction. Arthur still had unfinished business with Solivair—particularly regarding Lynn. The agreement they had made had yet to be resolved. And since the Tremo family still held assets, Arthur didn’t want to leave any loose ends. The bigger the beast, the harder it fell—but even a dying giant could be dangerous. Before heading to Heaven Island, he needed to settle this. The Tremo family estate. Arthur’s luxury car pulled up directly at the front gate. Gone was the grandeur of the past—what remained was bleak, silent decline. Wind respectfully opened the door for Arthur. Solivair was already standing at the entrance, as if he’d been waiting. This was the first time Arthur had come to the Tremo estate of his own accord. When he saw Arthur, Solivair gave a faint smile. His eyes brightened slightly. “You really came.” Arthur was a man of his word. He and Solivair had made a deal: Solivair would help Arthur enter Heaven Island, and in return, Arthur would find Lynn for him.Because of Solivair’s assistance, Arthur had not only entered Heaven Island but reconnected with his grandfather. His status had changed completely. And yet, Arthur had still given him no information about Lynn. Solivair had suspected Arthur would come. Not just for Lynn. Solivair gestured toward the courtyard. “Come in.” Arthur didn’t refuse and followed him inside. The garden was quiet, centered around a small pavilion and a grove of blossoming plum trees. The air carried the scent of spring. It was peaceful, almost poetic. The pavilion held a table and chairs. Drinking tea beneath the blossoms carried a refined elegance. After they sat down, Solivair poured a cup for Arthur. They looked more like two old friends than rivals, the conversation smooth and natural. Arthur accepted the tea and took a sip. He nodded, honest and calm. “Good tea.” Solivair chuckled softly and didn’t bother with pleasantries. “The guns Raelynn used—Zane got them from me. But I didn’t expect him to send Raelynn and her daughters to kill you.” Arthur looked up and met Solivair’s eyes. With smart people, there was no need for flowery words. He held Solivair’s gaze for a moment, then lowered his eyes and said nothing more. “Zane asked you for weapons, and you just handed them over?” Solivair suddenly laughed under his breath. “I knew I couldn’t hide it from you.” He didn’t seem nervous at all. He leaned back in his chair and looked at Arthur steadily. “Arthur, I have to say… you’re young, but your courage is impressive.” “You know I’ve had thoughts of killing you, yet you walked right into the Tremo estate. You’re even sitting here drinking tea with me. Aren’t you afraid I might have poisoned it?” Arthur set the cup down and smiled faintly.“You wouldn’t.” Solivair raised an eyebrow. “You’re that sure?” Arthur was direct. “Because of Lynn.” That was what the two of them had in common. They both had someone they cared about—deeply, painfully, to the marrow of their bones. Arthur understood that kind of vulnerability all too well. When you had someone like that in your life, they became your weakness. And you would compromise, no matter the cost, to protect them. Arthur had used Solivair’s love for Lynn. But he had never intended to provoke him. It was Solivair who had repeatedly come after him, again and again, trying to take his life. Solivair gave a candid smile. “Your nerve is admirable. You really are Old Master Chu’s grandson.” “You wanted Zane to do your dirty work. But you also want me to help you find Lynn. That’s a contradiction, don’t you think?” Arthur didn’t flinch. “Weren’t you afraid I might actually die—and then you’d never find her?” Solivair kept smiling, unbothered, as though getting caught red-handed didn’t faze him in the least. He shook his head without hesitation. “Zane couldn’t kill you.” Arthur raised an eyebrow. “You gave him guns. Two of them. And you’re that sure he couldn’t kill me in an ambush?” Solivair stood slowly.
