Stronger Every Time I Die
Skyward Academy was in Seacity, while Governance University was in Evergrand City. The two places were right next to each other, just over an hour’s drive apart. Ashley buried her head deep in the crook of Arthur’s arm. Arthur wanted nothing more than to be with Ashley always, but he didn’t want her to lose herself just because of him. Ashley was her own person, not just an extension of him. Arthur had noticed that ever since they got together, Ashley had given up many things she once loved. Maybe it was because he had become the chairman of Cloudia Corporation—sometimes, when Ashley was with him, she seemed overly cautious. That wasn’t what Arthur wanted. If they were going to spend their lives together, they both needed to grow. If only he kept moving forward while Ashley remained stagnant, she would eventually lose confidence. Sooner or later, it would create problems in their relationship. Ashley’s decision to attend Skyward Academy wasn’t just about her own dreams—it was also her way of preparing to support Arthur in the future. The next morning, Ashley had already packed both of their suitcases. At the entrance, Arthur got into the car that Stanley had brought. Ashley’s ride had also arrived, but she was reluctant to leave. She stood there, looking at Arthur, her eyes welling up with tears. For the past two years, she had grown used to Arthur’s presence. Now that they were about to separate, it was hard for her to accept. Arthur’s car slowly pulled out of view. It wasn’t until it completely disappeared from sight that Ashley finally got into her own car, unwillingly. This time, Natalie had personally come to see Ashley off. Noticing Ashley’s red-rimmed eyes, Natalie smirked and teased, "I came to see you off to college, and now I have to sit through this emotional display too?" Ashley couldn’t help but laugh at her comment. "Natalie! Don’t make fun of me." Joking aside, Natalie’s expression turned serious. "So, you really trust Arthur that much? You’re just going to do long-distance like this? Aren’t you afraid he’ll change his mind?" Ashley gazed out the window, a soft smile on her face. She shook her head firmly. "No, I trust him."Arthur’s car headed straight for Governance University. He took a nap during the ride, and by the time he woke up, they had arrived. Arthur looked up and was instantly awed by the grand entrance before him. Although he had seen pictures of Governance University’s gates online, standing here in person was an entirely different experience. The entrance radiated an imposing aura, commanding respect. Just being in front of it gave him a sense of reverence. Governance University’s main gate was massive, and beyond it, the buildings and layout carried an even greater air of prestige and solemnity. No wonder it’s the top university in Lioran. Just looking at it made one instinctively straighten their posture. Even though the school year hadn’t officially started, the area around the entrance was far from empty. Small groups of students moved in and out of the gate—some had stayed on campus over the summer, while others, like Arthur, had arrived early for studies. Arthur’s exploits in South City had caused a stir not only in the outside world but also within Governance University itself. After all, their top professor, Hugo, had personally sought him out. Arthur’s name had already spread across the campus by yesterday. The moment he stepped out of the car, his tall frame and striking presence immediately caught the attention of the students at the entrance. They were still young, full of energy, and naturally curious. "Look at that freshman—he’s so handsome!" "He must be here for orientation, right? Why’s he arriving so early?" "Wait a second—I think I’ve seen him before. Oh my god! Isn’t that Arthur? The guy Mr. Hugo personally recruited?" "No way! It is him! He looks even better in person than in pictures! Honestly, I think he’s even more attractive than Finley!" "Hmph, I thought anyone personally chosen by Mr. Hugo would be impressive. Turns out, he’s just an ordinary guy.." "Oh, stop being jealous! He’s this year’s SAT top scorer! A genius with both brains and looks—how can you not admire him?" Arthur glanced at the murmuring crowd. He had already prepared himself for this before arriving.Yesterday, when the professors visited his home, Hugo had even confirmed in front of the media that he had personally recruited Arthur. Arthur knew how influential Hugo was in the country, so it wasn’t surprising that people were talking about him now. Still, he didn’t like being stared at like a sideshow attraction. Taking his luggage from Stanley’s hands, Arthur walked straight through the university gates without hesitation.
