Stronger Every Time I Die
"Hey, how could you do that! You have no sense of honour!" "Hmph! I can’t stand you bookish types. What’s all this nonsense about honour? Practicality is what truly matters!" Devon retorted bluntly. "You!" Sebastian was livid but struggled to find a proper counter. Ignoring Sebastian frustration, Devon casually tossed the laptop onto a high shelf, out of Sebastian reach, before returning to Arthur side. "Arthur, I may not have brought that formal admission paperwork with me, but don’t worry. If you agree to join my program, you won’t have to stand in any lines, just come directly, and everything will be arranged for you. You won’t have to lift a finger." He then gestured toward Sebastian. "Look at him, so frail and delicate. That’s the kind of man Fusion University produces. But real men stand tall and let their strength do the talking! A proper man wouldn’t go to Fusion University!" "Pfft…" Ashley had just taken a sip of tea when she heard that, and she couldn’t hold back. She burst into laughter, nearly choking. Thankfully, no one was sitting directly in front of her. "Sorry, sorry! I... I couldn't hold it in for a moment." Ashley hurriedly apologized, grabbing a cloth to wipe the tea that had spilled onto the table’s edge. What did he mean by a proper man wouldn’t go to Fusion University? It was Fusion University! The prestigious Fusion University!Regardless of gender, it was a dream school for countless aspiring finance professionals. Sure, it didn’t emphasize physical strength like a military academy, but its academic reputation was impeccable. Devon waved dismissively. "No worries, no worries. A real man doesn’t fuss over minor details." Sebastian, however, was fuming, his face turning crimson! Yes, physically speaking, I wasn’t as strong as Devon, but Devon trained! That wasn’t a fair comparison! Sebastian was no slouch. Among ordinary men, I was solidly built! But the way Devon put it, it sounded like every man at Fusion University was some weakling, like Sebastian himself was just another frail scholar! Sebastian clenched his fists. He wanted nothing more than to punch Devon in the face. But he also knew he stood no chance against him. Devon on the other hand, wasn’t even remotely concerned about Sebastian thoughts. Having openly provoked him, he had no fear of retaliation. Then, Devon gaze shifted to Arthur’s build. Before Arthur could react, Devon clapped a firm hand on his shoulder."Arthur, you’ve trained before, haven’t you?" Arthur was momentarily stunned. These esteemed professors and deans were nothing like what he had imagined. Instead of being strict and reserved, they were energetic, even playful. Watching them bicker, Arthur and Ashley felt like they were witnessing gods at war. Devon sudden question caught him off guard, but he still nodded. "Yeah, I used to train a bit." "Heh!" Devon eyes lit up with excitement. "I knew I wasn't wrong!" He immediately stood up. "Come on! Let’s have a sparring match!" Huh?? This… They had just met, and he already wanted to fight? Hearing this, Sebastian immediately jumped in. "Arthur, don’t listen to him! He’s nothing but a reckless brute! If you go to Fusion University, you might not even make it out alive!" "You little punk!" Devon was faster than Arthur and had already raised his fist, ready to punch Sebastian again. This time, Sebastian was prepared and dodged out of the way. Devon punch missed, but he didn’t insist on continuing. Instead, he grabbed Arthur’s arm and started leading him outside. "Come on, we’re men! Enough of this fussing around, let’s spar!" It had been far too long since Devon had found a decent sparring partner. At his university, his fellow professors were either too old or too busy. The younger students were afraid to go all out, so their spars always ended with them bracing for a beating. He had been itching for a real fight! Even though Arthur wasn’t officially his student yet, Devon genuinely admired him. Despite the surprise of their sudden visit, Arthur’s demeanour had remained calm and composed. Not once had he shown fear or hesitation. That alone earned Devon respect, Arthur was already far beyond most students! That was why, from the moment he saw Arthur, he had been certain. Devon moved quickly. Before Arthur fully processed what was happening, he was already being pulled toward the backyard. The small courtyard had been left mostly untouched, as Arthur hadn’t had time to maintain it. But it was spacious enough, a perfect place for a sparring match. Arthur hadn’t had a real workout in a long time.
