Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 239 The Divorce Papers

Once the debt was paid off, John would reconnect with his old partners and start fresh. He refused to believe this was the end—there had to be a way forward. Gray Corporation would rise again! If Arthur could build Cloudia Corporation into an empire, then Zac could do the same. Zac was no less capable than Arthur! After all, Cloudia Corporation was just a new player, while Gray Corporation had decades of history and a strong foundation. Despite everything, the company’s core team was still here. That was its greatest strength—proof that this wasn’t over yet! John had it all planned out. In just a few years, once Zac graduated, he would hand over Gray Corporation to him entirely. And as for himself? He would take Renee and travel the world, living out the dream he had waited years for. He would cherish her, make up for all the suffering she had endured. He and Renee would be the happiest couple in the world! Neither of them noticed the phone hidden behind the corner of a nearby building—recording every word they said. Raelynn quietly lowered her phone, her hands trembling with rage. John had planned all along to leave Gray Corporation to Zac?! Arthur was already out of the family, but what about her three daughters? And now John wanted to hand the entire company to Zac? What were they supposed to rely on? Just those few shares they held? And all this talk about Zac’s security, Zac’s future—what a joke! Hadn’t Zac taken enough from the Gray family over the years? From the extravagant gifts they showered on him to the large sums of money John handed over—Zac had never lacked anything! Not to mention, he already had multiple properties and held the most shares among them all!Raelynn felt like a fool. She had never once asked for shares or properties. John never brought it up, and she never cared. She had thought—since they were family—it didn’t matter whose name was on what. As long as it all went to their children, it was fine. But to John, this had become the natural order of things. He never had to say it outright, but after spending so many years with him, Raelynn understood everything from that look of disdain he had earlier. To him, she wasn’t even worthy of owning property or shares. Had he forgotten? If not for her, he would never have gained control of Gray Corporation in the first place! And now, he couldn’t wait to sign everything over to Zac! He wanted to sell off Julie and Rosie’s properties just so Zac could inherit a clean, debt-free company? What about her daughters? Did they mean nothing to him? They were his own flesh and blood, and yet he didn’t care at all? Raelynn clenched her fists. And then, she thought of Arthur. All the ways she had treated him over the years… She wanted to slap herself. How could she have been so blind? So naive? And that woman—Renee. All she had to do was cry a little, and John was ready to hand over the entire Gray Corporation! Originally, Raelynn had planned to wait until John recovered before gathering evidence of his affair. But she didn’t have to wait anymore.Renee had delivered herself straight to her doorstep. And luckily, Raelynn caught her just in time. There was still a chance to turn things around. That evening, John spent the whole day tangled up with Renee, not even bothering to check on Zac in the hospital. Susie, after getting her eardrum treated, had gone home. The Gray family residence had been seized, so they were now staying at a house under Julie’s name. Renee, worried about being seen and judged by hospital staff, hid away after parting with John. Meanwhile, John had finally prepared all the necessary documents to transfer his shares to Zac. Just as he was about to finalize the process, a sudden document was delivered to him. Frowning, John opened it. The moment his eyes landed on the title, his face darkened—Divorce Agreement. His hands trembled as he flipped through the pages. And then, he saw the photographs attached underneath. His stomach sank. The images showed him and Renee, embracing in the hospital garden earlier today. A terrible premonition rose in his chest. By the time he finished reading the document, his face had turned completely black. With a loud bang, he slammed the papers onto the table. “She wants to walk away with nothing? She’s dreaming!” The noise jolted Zac awake just as he was about to fall asleep. His whole body ached from the day’s pain, and he had just managed to doze off—only to be rudely woken up. Annoyed, Zac frowned. “What the hell is going on?”
