♡ Mia's pov ♡ "Are you okay?" I asked Kade, chewing my bottom lip as I spared him a glance. From the moment dad cut the cucumber in half he had been like this, mute and practically a ghost judging by his pale complexion. It was rather unsettling to see him like this because usually, he would be throwing me cheeky glances. But his gaze had been set at the front the entire time we had been in the car and he definitely looked lost in his own head. And it was even more strange that he hadn't tried to tease me when he usually did when Colby wasn't here. And Colby wasn't because he caught a ride with Stanly today. So it was just us two, in complete awkward silence. I didn't like this silence. He hadn't spared me a single glance. Even his reply was abrupt and dull. It was like he wasn't even here. "Yeah." I pinch my brows together and looked ahead before I crash the car. We were heading to school and we were a tad bit later than usual but not entirely late for school. We still had about ten minutes before the bell rang and if we were lucky enough, we'd reach there in exactly five minutes with another five to spare. My grip tightened around the steering wheel as I finally asked the question I had been dying to ask him since leaving the house. I shifted around and turned to him slightly. "Is it what my dad said in the kitchen? Because if it is, I can assure you that I don't think he'll actually do that to a guy's penis- Kade shook his head in denial, yet I could somehow see the color drain more out of his face if that was even possible. He could nearly be mistaken as a white sheet. "No. It's not that at all." Even his voice had a pitch of dishonesty. He was becoming to be a shittier liar than me. "Then what is it? Is it the talk mom had with us- He turns to me quickly, eyes shading with embarrassment and something else. He had completely caught me off guard as I had not expected him to give me his attention so abruptly. "She knows about us." His words had robbed me of breath and had set my mind in disbelief. I must've heard wrong. "What?" I asked, unsure that he had actually said those words. There was no way. No way. We were too careful. "Your mom knows about our relationship Mia. She caught me in your bed last night. " Kade whispered, cringing as his eyes gave out that faraway look. He must've been recalling a memory. I opened my mouth, closed it and waited for my brain to piece his words together. But then all I could say at the moment was. "You're joking?" Kade shook his head and I quickly brought my attention back to the road. "I'm not. I wish I was but I'm not. Last night, I woke up and couldn't sleep back so I went downstairs. She was there." I could practically hear the wince in his voice. "I hadn't locked the door after I came into your room and we fell asleep during the movie. She saw us and pieced everything together quickly. She knows we're having sex, Mia." Kade grumbles. His words had left a bitter taste in my mouth. It's not every day you hear your mom knows about your sex life and who you're having sex with under her roof. Then something clicks in my head. The talk! She gave me that talk because she knew Kade and I was sexually active with each other. Oh God. This is even more embarrassing now that I know why she was actually giving me that talk. I felt my neck flame and that heat snake up to my cheeks before settling there. If I had the option to throw myself out of the car I would. But I had a feeling Kade would not allow it and neither did I feel like getting injured or perhaps dying. I looked ahead, now actually embarrassed to face Kade now that I knew my mom knew about us having sex. I gripped the steering wheel tighter until my knuckles turned white. "She wouldn't know about us having sex by us just sleeping beside each other Kade- "She saw the used condoms under my bed. I had forgotten to throw them out the last time." There's a load of humiliation in his voice.I was about to tell him that she could think it was any girl and may not have thought it was me but then I realized mom was pretty smart and might as well be a detective. She knew. Simple as that. Only that it wasn't simple at all. If she knew then dad would also know. This was turning out to be a massive headache. One that would surely turn into a migraine over time and God only knew how long it would last. I gulped, trying to swallow perhaps the fact that my mom knew I was sexually active. Utter embarrassment. There was no way around it. "What about my dad?" I winced praying that he hadn't known about Kade and me. "She gave me four days to come up with a way to tell him about us." He grumbles. I make a turn, now contemplating if to skip school today. Suddenly I didn't feel like going to school. I could've been relieved by what Kade had just uttered. But I wasn't. How were we going to tell dad about us without him blowing a fuse? He'd probably do to Kade what he had done to that poor cucumber. It's no wonder Kade had practically been a ghost since we left the house. In fact...... I took a quick peek over at him and winced. He was still so pale. Did my dad and mom scare him that much? I mean dad was a little much on the cucumber..... "Are you scared to tell him?" I cringe knowing that this was the most ridiculous question to ask at this time. And it wasn't surprising when he sarcastically answered. "No, not at all. I'm looking so forward to telling your dad that the teenage boy he allowed into his house has been balls deep in his daughter for months now right under his and his wife's nose's for months. I can only imagine the shit he'd tell me. Probably cut off my dick before throwing it out of the house along with me." I pouted, looking away from him completely. "Hey, you didn't have to be mean."Kade sighed and I felt his warm hand land on my lap. He gave me a firm reassuring squeeze. "I'm sorry baby. I'm just trying to think of where to go from here." ______ Arabella Cross "Ah," Haiden moaned on top of me, pulling out and rolling off of me before pulling me in his arms. He throws an arm over his eyes and sighs in bliss. "You always feel so fucking amazing." I smacked his shoulder, hard. He peeks under his arm at me and noticed my glare. "What was that for?" He groaned. I glared harder. "Did you have to frighten Kade so much earlier? I told you to go easy on him so he can feel safe to tell you about him and Mia." Haiden snorts and groans again when I gave him yet another smack on his shoulder. "Baby, this is getting abusive." He pouts. "Haiden!" I whined. "Did you see how terrified he was when you cut the cucumber? He looked ready to faint!" Haiden chuckles. "You're dramatic baby. Besides serves him right for touching my little girl." "He loves her Haiden. And he reminds me of you when you were young- "Which is exactly why I hadn't done to him what I had done to the cucumber. If I didn't literally see how in love he was with Mia, I would've surely torn him a new one. He's damn lucky I've accepted him for my little girl." Haiden snorted.
