My Best Friend’s Brother Was Never Supposed to Taste Me

Chapter 337

Haiden Cross As soon as the door closes behind Bella and Gwen I rushed towards Snake, not caring that the gash on my stomach protested and was in desperate need of some stitches. "You bastard!" I roared, getting ready to wipe that cocky smile off his face until he points the barrel of the gun to me and makes a tsking sound. "Uh uh. Remember I have my men outside. One wrong move and not only are those bitches dead but you." Snake smirked. "You held her at gunpoint." I snapped, stopping mid punch before backing away. Snake rolled his eyes. "You lucky I didn't shoot the dumb bitch. I mean she was the one who came to my home unannounced and threw a punch at my nose. Clearly breaking it." He grumbles pointing at his bleeding nose. My girl had a mean hook. Unfortunately, she practiced it on the wrong person. I shouldn't have thrust her into my world. I was ruining her. I was turning her into me. "She didn't know- "Save the bullshit Cross. I'm just glad I got to meet your bitch. I have to give you props for being so good in hiding her. " With an amused grin, he comes forward. "Now you owe me for saving her life and her friend's." My hands fists at my sides. Of fucking course. This was inevitable. "What do you want?" I hissed lowly, watching him with keen eyes as he circled me. "Oh I'm a man who wants many things. I could easily force your bitch to lay with me, pay me back for the trouble- He stops when he notices my very angered face. Chuckling he shook his head. "But that wouldn't satisfy me for long. You know I'm a very hard man to please." "Spit out what you want from me Snake. Stop beating around the fucking bush you manipulative bastard." I snarled, wishing I stood a chance against him and his men outside. I was just relieved that I had reached in time, if I had listened to Bella and stayed home to rest, then she would have been six feet under. The thought had my stomach knotting and cold sweat overtaking my body. Fuck this was all my fault for being selfish and not wanting to leave her alone. Snake stopped before me and then laughed in my face. "Impatience is never a good thing Cross. You should know that.""Spit it out." I spat fighting the urge to grasp the gun from him and shoot him myself. Unfortunately, I had a feeling his men were waiting for me to make a move. I'd be dead in seconds and I wasn't sure they'd spare Bella. "Since the debt is a lot higher this time, you'll need to do something a little extra." Snake hummed, backing away from me and plopping down on his bed. He hisses when he wipes the blood trailing down his nose with the back of his hand. "What do you mean?" I asked, heart pounding knowing this one might be very extreme. Fuck. My plans for forcing my way out of this mess seemed impossible. Looking at me Snake drops the gun on his bed. My eyes follow the black metal and he snorts. "Don't even think about it. My men are outside." Sighing, he looks at me. "One of my men got shot last night. Lost him. I need someone to replace him and I think you're the best one to replace him don't you think?" I stilled. The fuck he mean replace one of his men? "Depends on what you'll have me do," I grumble in displeasure. The thought of working for Snake made me feel nauseated. I pressed my lips together to not hurl. "Just drop a few drugs here and there." Snake shrugged nonchalantly. Drugs? He wanted me to fucking drop off drugs? "What's the matter, can't handle it?" He smirked in satisfaction at seeing my resolve dwindle into nothing. Shit. I really got myself into some really bad shit this time. How am I supposed to get out of this now? "If you can't handle it Cross. I'll just have you pay me back by spilling your bitches blood. Though she isn't worth as much as those drugs." He tsked. Hie words had my mind racing and my pulse not far behind. I was royally fucked beyond imagining but at least Bella would be safe and out of harms way if I agreed. She was my top priority and no one else. Without her, I was nothing. And I would never forgive myself if something did happen to her. So I agreed. "I can handle it. Just on one condition." Snake's eyes narrowed. "You're in no position to negotiate Cross. " "But go on." He waved his hand boredly."I want you to promise me that you'll leave Arabella out of this. Don't harm her in any way or I can promise you that touching one strand of her hair would lead me to kill you and I wouldn't care if I died in the process." I said truthfully. Snake looked at me in surprise before bursting into amused laughter. After a few seconds, he stops and nods. "Fine. I won't find out where your bitch lives and murder her in her sleep." Lifting the corner of his lip into a smirk he mumbles. "You have my word." Nodding I asked. "When do I start?" The faster I get this over with the quicker I can go to Bella and have her know I'm okay and unharmed. She must be worried knowing her. "Woah calm down Cross." Snake laughed before slobbering up. "I'm not the one who would potentially hire you. The boss has to come and drop some stuff later on. He's the one who will choose if to allow you on the streets, or blow your fucking head off." Snake leans forward on his knees and smirked at my stunned features. I had it all wrong, Snake wasn't the one who was in charge all along. He had someone higher than him. And right now, his identity was a fucking mystery. "Now we just have to wait." Snake smirked cruelly, rises to his feet and walks over to the door. Opening it he shouts. "Someone get me some tissue to clean up the mess bitch made to my face." ____ It's been hours, with me standing, walking across the room, sitting down on the chair because God only knew how truly dirty Snake's bed was. Snake left a couple of hours ago and hadn't come back yet. He didn't want me to get out of the room. Ordered that I stayed in his stale scented room because apparently, this boss of his would come here only. It's been fucking hours but I did have the chance to sneak a quick text to Bella to let her know I was okay and I'd text her when I got home before the battery of my phone died. I knew I should've charged it before I came here. But old habits died hard and hopefully I wasn't the one that will die soon. Right now, I didn't know if I would even see the glimpse of my house again or Bella. Voices growing closer to the door made me rise from my sitting position quickly. As the door slowly opened I caught a glimpse of outside and noted the darkening sky. It was late. The door opened little by little until it revealed Snake. Then suddenly he moves off to the side to have the other man behind him enter and I froze. "This is the little rabbit I've been talking to you about boss. He'll be good on the streets, fucker is fast." Snake nudged his head to me but all I could do was stare into the eyes of the man who was my Bella's father. "Mr. Rivera?" His name rolled off my tongue in shock.
