My Best Friend’s Brother Was Never Supposed to Taste Me
Arabella Rivera Snake chuckles when he sees Haiden's helpless face. "Didn't know you had a bitch Cross. You hid her pretty well." Snake smirked. "Don't call her that." Haiden snarled fists clenched at his sides. Snake snorted. "This is fucking hilarious." Shaking his head slightly, his eyes fall on me. "I guess the plan B worked? Cross really didn't look like a guy who would slip." Anger steamed through my veins. "Fuck you." I spat. I'm well aware that I was at gunpoint but right now my mouth refuses to listen to my logical mind. "Don't think Cross would like that too much." Snake sang in amusement. He was finding this amusing. This was a joke to him. Snapping his gaze to Haiden he spoke. "I'll let your bitch go and also the slut over there. Only if you stay back." Smirking he waited for Haiden's reaction. Which came quickly. "Fine." I gasp. "What? Haiden are you crazy he can hurt you!" Haiden's eyes snap down to me. "And if I don't, he'll hurt you." Tearing his gaze from mine, he lifts them to Snake. "Let them go Snake. I'll stay." "Don't even try to do anything funny, my men are outside." Snake warned Haiden. Removing his gaze from Haiden he drops them to Gwen and I. "You two up." He commanded while taking a step back and finally removing the cold gun off my forehead. Rising to my feet I glared at Snake. What kind of dick would point a gun at teenagers? Then again I did come into his home unannounced and broke his nose. Gwen hiccups beside me. "You only have ten minutes to get out of here. Or else." He shook his gun in the air with a nasty smirk on his lips. "Allow me to speak to her first Snake." Haiden spoke. Snake looked between Haiden and I before nodding. "Fine. But no funny business or else my guys will shoot to kill." He warned. "Bella." Haiden whispers walk over to me and pull me to a far corner. Looking at Snake cautiously he then brought his attention to me. "What were you thinking coming here?" He whispers, leaning forward and looking at me. "I'm sorry. I just- don't know what came over me. I just didn't want to see you get hurt anymore Haiden. I don't want to see you like how you were last night. It scared me." I sniffled, ashamed that I thought that if I gave Snake a few tastes of his own medicine, I'd save Haiden. Only that my actions made everything worst. "Hey hey hey." Haiden shushes as his hand grips the nape of my neck. "It's my fault for showing up like that last night. And I'm so sorry Bella. But leave the protecting for me would you?" He whispered, flicking his eyes over to Snake. "I should've warned you that Snake wasn't a man you win against easily. I'm the one who got myself in this mess and I'm the one to get myself out." I took that time to scan my eyes over his features. His face wasn't different from last night, the purple coloring was just a tad bit lighter. But the black under his eye didn't look like it was fading any time soon. "Why are you even here Haiden? I thought I told you to stay home and rest?" I whispered. He was clearly still in pain by the winces that he showed every few seconds. He sighs, looking at me in guilt. "I came to pick up my truck. Snake has the keys." He admitted. "Bella- "Okay times up. You two out now." Snake spat and Haiden pulls away from me reluctantly not before mumbling I love you. Gwen rushes to me and pulls me along with her, fear darkening her eyes as she stared at Snake cautiously. "Wait." I whispered and turned around to face Snake. "You're not going to hurt him are you?" I didn't want to think about what would happen when Gwen and I get out of here but the flashes of seeing blood on the floor came popping in my head unannounced. Snake's eyes turned cruel and the smirk on his mouth made me realize he was as sinister as they got. He was a lunatic. " If I hear the siren of a police car anywhere near here or get word that you snitched. Then darling, hurting your boyfriend would be the least of your worries." He lifts a brow. "Want to know why?" I don't answer him but let him continue, knowing he would say something bad anyway. "Because you'd be planning his funeral along with yours."My stomach drops as I quickly flick my eyes to Haiden. This was all my fault and my stupid impulse of wanting to give Snake a taste of his own medicine. This wasn't me, but a completely different person. "I'll be fine Bella. Get home." Haiden pleaded, wanting me out of here as soon as possible. But I couldn't leave him here alone knowing Snake had something unforgivable up his sleeves. But if I stay, I was afraid I'd make everything worse. Gwen tugged me along. "Let's get out of here Bella." She pleaded. I had completely forgotten about Gwen, and I felt ashamed for even admitting that even though inwardly. It was my fault she was thrust into this mess and I should safely get her out. Looking at Haiden one last time, I nodded reluctantly and walked out of the room. Snake wasn't lying when he said his men were outside. The scarce of men outside before I opened Snake's door was no more so but now more than twenty men lined with guns. How the hell did they know something was up? How did Snake get a hold of them so quickly? Questions raced through my head as Gwen and I walked between them, having to brush against them reluctantly since none showed they wanted to move out of our way. When we were a good distance and nearing Gwen's car I stopped. "Oh no don't you dare think about going back for that asshole!" She spat trying to tug me harshly. "Don't call him that!" I snapped. She turns to me furiously, spitting out words that made me flinch. "I warned you to stay away from Haiden Cross! I fucking warned you to stay away and look how things turn out. He turned you into him! The Arabella I knew wouldn't walk into danger or thrust someone innocent into danger. You're acting like him now Bella!" She mocked the name Haiden referred to me in disgust. Huffing when I don't respond to her words, she rolls her eyes. "I can't believe you were sleeping with Haiden! After all the warnings I gave you, you decide to whore yourself out to the bad guy." The bad guy? Did she not see the one with the gun? Narrowing my eyes at her I snarled. "If you have forgotten let me refresh your memory. The bad guy is the one with the gun, the one you whore yourself to. Not me. I'm not the whore here Gwen, you are!" Her anger was justified seeing as I pushed her into a dangerous situation. But I couldn't have her bad-mouthing Haiden, or me. Brushing past her roughly I made my way to her car and entered not bothering to look back to see if she followed. Hearing her enter the car and slamming the door with such force made me realize that I had caused a rift between us. Especially when she mumbled. "I don't know who you are anymore Arabella."
