The Despised Luna's Comeback
"Naomi, what are you talking about?" Sandra stared at Naomi in shock. I could not help but frown too. I thought Naomi was just upset because of the bad press, but I had not expected her to actually think about something this serious. "I've been thinking about it for a while now. I really want to leave the entertainment industry. I just don't think this world is for me." Naomi sighed, her face full of exhaustion—a look I had never seen on her before. In my mind, Naomi was always the kind of person who stayed positive no matter what she faced. Could a bump like this really shake her so badly? "Naomi, why do you feel this way?" I asked, my tone serious. I had always seen Naomi as someone special. I definitely did not want to lose her. "Back when I wasn't super famous, but not completely forgotten either, I honestly didn't mind," Naomi said after a short pause, a soft, self-deprecating smile tugging at her lips. "As long as I got to act every day, that was enough for me. But somewhere along the way, everything changed. "I feel like I just keep causing more trouble. Last time, the company already had to clean up after me so much. It feels like it's all because of me." Naomi sighed again, the sound soft and tired. "So that's why you're thinking of quitting?" I glanced at the file in my hand, then looked up to meet her gaze. "Tell me honestly, Naomi, do you still love acting?" Naomi pressed her lips together, hesitating. After a while, she gave a small, bitter smile. "Of course I do. I love acting. It's always been my dream. But lately, I've been wondering if I'm just not meant for it. "Ms. Sinclair, maybe I'm just too sensitive, too fragile. I can't seem to take even the tiniest setbacks. You know, there were times when I would search for all the hateful posts about me, scrolling through them just to figure out why people disliked me so much. But the more I read, the worse I felt. I'm not like other actors who can just ignore it. It just made me miserable, and I felt like I was letting down the people who actually supported me." Naomi fidgeted anxiously, then lifted her head to look at me. "Rosaline, the company's already done so much for me, but I just keep making things harder for everyone." "Naomi, don't say that," Sandra interrupted, frowning. I stayed quiet for a moment, thinking it over, before finally saying, "If that's how you're feeling, it's probably a good idea to take some time off. Go home, clear your head, and really think about what you want and whether you're ready to keep chasing this dream. But for now, you're still one of us, and I'll make sure the company has your back." As I spoke, I stood and walked over to her. "Naomi, nothing about life is ever smooth sailing." The moment the words left my mouth, Naomi's eyes filled with tears. She threw herself into my arms and started sobbing uncontrollably. I gently patted her hair, letting out a sigh without saying anything. Looking back, she had not actually been in this industry for very long, but she had already been through so much more than most people experience in a lifetime. Honestly, the fact that she was still standing was impressive. Sandra stood quietly to the side. She looked like she wanted to take Naomi away, but I shook my head slightly, letting Naomi cry it out. It was a long time before she finally calmed down. "Go home and rest for a few days. Once you've sorted out your thoughts, come back and talk to me, okay?" I said softly. Naomi sniffled, looking even more pitiful. "Rosaline, why are you always so good to me?" "If you know I'm good to you, then be a good girl and listen," I said with a small smile. Naomi nodded seriously. After a few more words to comfort her, I let Sandra take her away. Just as they left, my phone rang—it was Caden returning my call. "Hey, Caden?" I picked up. "Sorry, I was stuck in a meeting," Caden said on the other end. I remembered he had a big meeting today. "What's going on?" Caden asked, his voice gentle. "You had someone take Wendy away at Mr. Richard's birthday banquet, where is she now?" I asked. "Wendy?" Caden paused for a while then answered, "I had someone send her back to the Wild Pack that night. I heard their Alpha decided to send her away after that." I gave a nod. After all, Wendy had stirred up quite the commotion at the banquet, turning herself into the butt of countless jokes. On the Werewolf Continent, no pack takes their reputation lightly—least of all a powerful one like the Wild Pack."You think something's off about that?" Caden asked, picking up on my hesitation. "Don't you think all the trouble Naomi's been running into lately feels a little too convenient?" I said quietly.
