The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 712 Maybe I'm Just Overthinking

At first, I never thought it had anything to do with Wendy. After all, she disliked me, not Naomi. There was no reason for her to involve Naomi, who was completely unrelated. But now, thinking about everything again, I couldn't help but start feeling suspicious. I kept wondering before if Naomi had made any enemies. Now that I thought about it, only one person was left—Kelsey. He had always been after Naomi. But looking back at when he kidnapped her, it was hard to believe he pulled it off by himself. He was just a spoiled rich scion who partied all the time. There was no way he could have planned something so detailed on his own. So, maybe it wasn't that I was overthinking. Deep down, I felt like there was a bigger picture I was missing. Now, Naomi had become one of Starplay Entertainment's top stars. Her interests were deeply connected to the company's. If anything happened to her, Starplay would take the biggest hit. Since arriving in Rivemon, the only person I'd openly fought with was Wendy. "Do you think someone's trying to hurt you by going after Naomi?" Caden asked, seeming to be thinking the same thing. I sighed. "I hope I'm just overthinking it." I tried to believe it was just normal competition and drama in the entertainment world. But deep down, I knew it had already gone too far. No matter what, I was determined to uncover who was behind it. Naomi's POV: I sat quietly in the van with Sandra by my side. She kept glancing at me, wanting to say something to make me feel better, but I stayed silent and gloomy, and she never found a good time to speak. When we were almost home, a thought popped into my head. I turned to her and said, "Sandra, can you take me to FirstMedi Hospital first?" "Are you feeling sick?" Sandra asked, worried. I shook my head and answered in a low voice, "I promised Samuel I'd pick him up today, but ... "My words faded off. "Just take me there first." Sandra agreed without hesitation and changed direction toward FirstMedi Hospital. But neither of us expected to see a huge group of reporters and fervent fans already gathered outside. I was stunned. As soon as I stepped out of the van, they surrounded me. It was clear they had been waiting a long time. The reporters rushed toward me, shouting questions. Sandra was shocked by the sudden chaos and tried to shield me, but the crowd was too big. She was even pushed aside. I was trapped by dozens of reporters and fans, unable to move. "Naomi, can you respond to the question from the press conference?" "Ms. Naomi, does your boyfriend know about your past?" "What about the rumors of you skipping work? Care to explain?" The loud shouting made me dizzy. I shook my head, not knowing what to do. Right then, someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me into a comforting hug. When I looked up, I saw it was Samuel. He quickly brought me back into the van and signaled Sandra to drive off. Still a little rattled, Sandra told the driver to leave right away. "Are you hurt?" she asked, glancing back worriedly. Samuel answered for me. Then, he reached out and gently ran his hand through my hair. I didn't say anything. I just clung to his waist, my heart a mess. Soon, we arrived back at the villa in Meteor Pack. Samuel's POV: Even after we got home, Naomi still didn't let go of my hand. She leaned against me, acting all clingy. I guided her to the couch and rubbed my forehead. I had done three consecutive surgeries this afternoon and was completely drained. When I stepped out of the operating room, I got news about Naomi's situation.I had planned to find her. But when I got to the hospital entrance, I saw reporters everywhere, and right in the middle of the crowd was Naomi. "Samuel," she whispered my name. I answered her. When I looked down, her eyes were locked on mine, full of emotion. I reached out and lightly brushed her eyebrows. That small gesture brought tears to her eyes. She suddenly leaned in and hugged me tightly. "I'm sorry for dragging you into all this." I held her face gently and wiped her tears with my thumb. "You don't need to say sorry," I said seriously. Naomi's body shook a little as she pressed her cheek against my hand. "Samuel, I want to quit showbiz."
