The Despised Luna's Comeback
Tony struggled to push himself up from the floor, but I quickly kicked him again, this time pressing my foot firmly against his chest, using just enough force to hold him in place. "H-how... " Tony stammered, clearly stunned, barely able to form words. I smirked, leaning over him. "Curious why I didn't drink the drug you put in my coffee?" "Y-you knew?!" Tony blurted out, his face full of shock. I let out a dismissive laugh. "With that terrible acting of yours, if I hadn't gone along with it, you'd never have gotten into my office." I exhaled sharply, not bothering to hide my disdain. "And you really think a low-level worker like you could make my coffee? Do you know anything about my preferences?" Tony's face contorted with confusion as his body trembled with a mix of fear and disbelief. "Say cheese." Just then, Joel appeared out of nowhere, holding his phone and recording the scene, zooming in on Tony's face for a closer shot. "Why don't you let me play the hero and save you?" Joel teased, shooting me a mock hurt look before turning his cold gaze back to Tony. Without warning, he stomped his foot down onto Tony's hand. Tony screamed in pain, his face twisting with terror. I stepped aside and picked up the tiny pinhole camera that Tony had planted, setting it down on my desk. "Who gave you permission to record in my company?" I asked, my voice cold with barely contained anger. "And who's pulling your strings?" "I ... " Tony hesitated, his expression shifting between fear and indecision, unsure of whether to reveal the truth. "Not going to talk?" I said casually, picking up my phone. "That's fine. I already have plenty of evidence. You'll be going to jail, but too bad I only caught you in the act." I waved my hand dismissively, signaling to Joel to step forward. He grabbed Tony by the neck and prepared to drag him out of the office. Tony, now desperate, panicked and cried out, "I'll talk! I'll tell you everything!" I scoffed. "It's too late for that." ... Later that evening, Caden came to pick me up, and we headed back to the Eclipse Pack's old mansion. As soon as we entered, we were met with the sight of Queenie and Wendy lounging on the sofa in the living room. Queenie glanced up at Caden but completely ignored me, continuing her conversation with Wendy. "Grandpa's birthday is the day after tomorrow, Wendy. The gift you got him will definitely be a hit," Queenie said, her voice light, almost teasing. Wendy's gaze shifted, landing on Caden's face. She immediately stood up and walked toward him. "Cady, you're back! You must be exhausted after today," she said, clearly trying to act as if she were the lady of the house. She reached out to take his jacket. I stood off to the side, watching with cold amusement. Caden, however, completely ignored Wendy. He reached out and pulled me close, guiding me deeper into the house without so much as a glance at her. Wendy's face immediately darkened, but Queenie stepped forward quickly, blocking our path. "Caden, Wendy's been waiting for you all day." She positioned herself on Caden's other side, as though trying to separate us. But I wasn't backing down. Without hesitation, I raised my arm and tripped Queenie. She tumbled forward, letting out a loud scream as she hit the floor. "Rosaline! What are you doing?!" Queenie yelled, her face twisted in fury. I crossed my arms and gave her a mocking smile. "Oh, Queenie, it's been so long since we last met. A greeting like this—what a delightful surprise. I don't know if I can handle such a warm welcome." Queenie's face flushed with rage. She tried to push herself up, but as she did, the hem of her dress caught under my foot, and she lost her balance again, crashing to the floor with a loud thud. Her chin hit the ground so hard that her eyes watered with pain. I stood there, watching her with a smirk, my arms still crossed. Wendy, looking frantic, immediately rushed to help Queenie to her feet, glaring at me. "Rosaline, how could you treat her like that? That's just cruel."As she spoke, her gaze lingered on Caden's face, as though silently pleading for his support. She added, "Queenie is Cady's sister, after all. How could you treat her this way?" I blinked innocently and turned to look at Caden, playing up my act. "Caden, what do you think? Was what I did really so bad?" I mimicked Wendy's tone, sweet and overly dramatic, to the point where even Caden raised an eyebrow in annoyance. Caden opened his mouth, probably to tell me to reign it in, but just then, his phone rang. He glanced at me, and I gave him a playful wink, signaling that I wouldn't push it further. With a sigh of relief, he stepped away to answer the call. As soon as Caden was out of earshot, Queenie's demeanor changed entirely. She shoved Wendy's hand away, glaring at me before raising her palm, ready to slap me across the face. I didn't flinch. Instead, I grabbed her wrist with a firm grip, squeezing it until she yelped in pain. "Queenie, as long as you stay out of my way, I won't bother you," I said coldly, my voice sharp as ice. "But if you keep this up, don't blame me for being ruthless." Queenie stumbled back, her eyes wide with fear as she instinctively bumped into Wendy. I released her wrist and glanced at my nails, speaking casually. "And as for some people, calling Caden 'Cady' all the time ... who do you think you are?"
