The Despised Luna's Comeback
Not long after I hung up, Joel walked into my office. "Well? Did you find the rat?" Joel asked, scanning the room before approaching me. "His name is Tony Covington. He's just a minor guy from the planning department. He went to get me some coffee, but he'll be back soon." I rested my chin on my hand, a smirk tugging at the corners of my mouth. "It's been a while since I've met such a daring werewolf." "No wonder you called me to your office today," Joel snorted, a grin spreading across his face as he observed me. "Seems like you're looking for an actor who works for free." "Well, even if I didn't ask, you'd still show up at my office every day, wouldn't you?" I flashed him a playful smile. Hearing that, Joel moved closer to my desk, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Are you sure you don't want to sign me to your company? I wouldn't mind a little office romance." Gosh, this guy just never knew when to stop. Since I needed his help with a bit of a performance later, I didn't mind his presence. I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms. "Forget it. I don't think you'd make a good actor. I'll just find someone else." As I spoke, my fingers were already tapping on my phone. Joel stepped closer, about to say something, but he stopped when he noticed the surveillance screen on my computer. At that moment, Tony appeared at the door, carefully holding the coffee cup. I shot Joel a quick glance. He caught on immediately, raising his voice just enough so Tony could hear from outside. "I'm not afraid of Caden." Sure enough, we saw Tony pause, then cautiously press his ear to the door. Suppressing a smile, I asked, "What are you planning to do?" Just as I spoke, Tony pushed open the door, and Joel took the opportunity to step in front of me. I tilted my head, leaning into him. From Tony's perspective, it must have looked like we were about to kiss. Tony walked in, freezing momentarily with a look of surprise flashing across his face. Joel and I both reacted as if we were just as stunned. I turned sharply toward the door, my expression twisted in anger."Don't you know how to knock before entering?" I snapped, my voice cold. "I-I knocked ... " Tony stammered, lowering his head. "I just came to bring you coffee." As he spoke, Joel stood and walked out of the office, leaving behind a final remark. "What a buzzkill." Tony blinked, clearly confused, before quickly lowering his gaze. But I noticed the flicker of cunning in his eyes. When he looked up again, his expression was back to its respectful facade as he placed the coffee on my desk and hurried out. I rested my chin on my hand, staring at the coffee in front of me, its scent drifting upward. A cold laugh slipped from my lips. "That little brat dared to spike the coffee." Freya's voice broke through the silence with a mocking tone. "This is perfect. It means he took the bait," I replied, a faint smile curving my lips. ... At lunch, I lay on the couch in my office, pretending to sleep. A soft sound came from the door. I barely cracked open an eyelid, peering through the gap between my lashes. I saw Tony sneaking into the office. "Ms. Sinclair?" he called quietly, knocking softly on the door. He glanced around the empty office before stepping inside with a boldness I hadn't expected. "Ms. Sinclair?" he called again, scanning the room before noticing the empty coffee cup on my desk. A sly smile appeared on his face. When his gaze shifted, he saw me lying on the couch. Tony let out a quiet sigh of relief, straightened himself up, and slowly approached the sofa. I kept my eyes closed, hearing him sneer and mutter to himself, "You always act so cold and proper, but I didn't expect you to be this wild behind closed doors." Then I heard him grab my phone, apparently trying to unlock it. After failing to bypass the face recognition, he tossed the phone aside."Now's the perfect time, right? Might as well take advantage of it," he chuckled to himself. I knew exactly what happened next, thanks to the security footage. After his little speech, he pulled a pinhole camera out from his clothes. He found a spot and set the camera up, then began unbuttoning his shirt in front of me. Just as his hand reached for the collar of my shirt, my phone buzzed with a new message. Tony jumped, but glanced at the screen without bothering to check it. As his hand moved lower, I opened my eyes. Tony's face drained of color. Before he could react, he gritted his teeth and reached for my wrist, planning to force himself on me. He thought I'd be too weak to resist after drinking the drugged coffee. I quickly pulled my wrist out of his grip and kicked him in the stomach, sending him crashing to the floor in pain. "Tony, you really have some guts," I said coldly, looking down at him.
