The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 674 Internal Problems

Although I didn't go out of my way to broadcast the incident, word had already spread throughout the company about the paparazzi sneaking in. I immediately had someone pull the surveillance footage to investigate. Naomi only got back to the office that afternoon, and as soon as she heard about it, she came straight to me. "Rosie, what exactly happened this afternoon?" Naomi asked with concern. I couldn't blame her. After all, having entertainment reporters infiltrate a company like ours to secretly take photos was definitely bad news. "We've already got people looking into it. But honestly, there aren't many who'd dare pull something like this," I said with a cold smirk. I thought, Sure, every reporter wantstolandthejuiciest, mostexplosivescoop. Butriskingitalltoprovokethewrongpeople? Not many are thatbold. Naomi still looked uneasy. She gave me a glance, like she wanted to say something but was holding back. "What is it?" I looked up at her. "Don't you think it was a little too easy for the reporter to get in?" Naomi blinked. I nodded. Starplay Entertainment had always had tight security. Plenty of journalists and fans had tried sneaking in before without success. So how did this one manage it? I didn't think that werewolf reporter had any kind of special skills. "You're saying ... " I looked at Naomi as a slight frown crept in. Seeing my reaction, Naomi spoke up, "I think the issue might be internal." I didn't say anything. Naomi smiled and quickly added, "I'm just guessing. I'm sure it's nothing like that." I let out a quiet snort. "You never know." After a brief pause, I shifted the topic. "By the way, how's the TV series shoot going?" "Hmm ... " Naomi thought for a second, then smiled. "It's going pretty smoothly. Honestly, having our company invest really makes a difference; the boxed lunches are way better than the last crew's." I glanced at her and said, "Yeah, I can tell. You've put on some weight."In an instant, Naomi shot up from her chair like a cat whose tail had just been stepped on. "What? That's not true! Where did I gain weight?" "It's more obvious when you stand up. Naomi, your face is rounder now." I rested my chin on the back of my hand, spinning the pen in my fingers. Naomi rubbed her cheeks, her expression slowly freezing over. "You haven't been watching your weight, have you?" I said, cutting straight to the point. Naomi lowered her head and muttered, "It's not really my fault ... " "Ms. Lawrence, the company might not interfere with artists' private lives, but it looks like someone's really spoiling you lately," I teased. "Alright, alright! I'll go on a diet," Naomi grumbled. "It's all his fault! He keeps sending me food. They are too delicious to resist. It's infuriating." "I'll let your manager know," I said lightly. "Oh, and once filming wraps up, there's a brand endorsement lined up. Go for a makeup test in a few days." "Is it a clothing brand?" Naomi asked curiously. I nodded. "There's a chance you might be walking in next month's fashion week. It's a good opportunity. Talk to Sandra for the details." Naomi nodded. After we went over a few more work matters, I finally let her go. Just then, my phone buzzed on the table beside me. I glanced at the screen; it was a call from Caden. "Are you busy? I'll come pick you up in a bit." The moment I heard his voice, my heart skipped a beat. "Oh no! I still haven't gotten Mr. Richard a gift!" The whole fiasco with the reporter sneaking in had thrown me off, and I'd completely forgotten. Caden chuckled at my panic. "Don't worry, there's still time. I'll help you pick something out." When Caden arrived at the company, he didn't seem concerned about my frazzled expression. Instead, he grabbed my hand and leaned in to whisper, "Let me take you somewhere." When we got out of the car, I stared at the bar in front of us in confusion. Caden didn't explain. He just smiled and led me inside while still holding my hand.It was a quiet bar, filled with smooth jazz music. A few werewolves sat at the counter, chatting in low voices. At the far end of the bar, I spotted a door. I glanced up at Caden just as he started walking us in that direction. He pushed the door open and revealed a hallway. At the end stood two burly werewolves guarding a single entrance. They didn't even flinch when they saw Caden. "What is this place?" I asked, my curiosity thoroughly piqued. Caden pulled a card from his pocket and handed it over. It looked familiar, and after a moment, I asked, "Is this Moonlight Alley?" Moonlight Alley was known as the largest underground witch's stone betting spot on the entire Werewolf Continent. I never imagined I'd end up here. "You've been here before?" Caden looked genuinely surprised. I smiled. "Heard of it but never been."
