The Despised Luna's Comeback
Caden brought me to a place like this, which caught me off guard, but it also gave me an idea for a gift for Richard. We walked down the stairs and eventually stepped into a wide, open hall. I hadn't expected to see so many werewolves here. No one paid us any attention when we walked in; their eyes were all fixed on the countless witch's stones displayed across the various tables. I glanced around the space and squinted slightly. It was my first time in a place like this, and I couldn't help feeling a little thrill of excitement. "Go ahead and look around. If you see something you like, just buy it," Caden said, giving my hand a gentle squeeze. My eyes paused at a certain spot. I turned to Caden and asked, "Someone actually invited you here?" Caden raised an eyebrow, which pretty much confirmed my suspicion. I didn't really care who he was meeting. The whole point of him bringing me here was to help me figure out a gift for Richard. "With senses like yours, it's a shame you're not an undercover agent," Caden said while looking at me with a touch of admiration. "Undercover?" I couldn't help getting a little annoyed when I heard that word. "Don't even mention it. I actually ran into one today." "Oh yeah? What happened?" Caden asked casually. "A paparazzo managed to sneak into the company today. I'm pretty sure they took a bunch of stuff without permission." "Did you find out who it was?" Caden's brows furrowed. "No, and I don't think they were from any official outlet," I said and shook my head. Just then, a young werewolf walked toward us. There was a faint smile on his handsome face. "Mr. Holbrook from the Eclipse Pack. I've heard a lot about you," the young werewolf said. Though he was smiling, there was still a coldness to his expression. Caden's face stayed neutral. He nodded at the guy and then turned to me, offering a half-introduction. "This is Jack Horton from the Rampage Pack." My heart skipped a beat the moment I heard that name."And you must be Mr. Holbrook's fiancée, Ms. Sinclair," Jack said softly after glancing at me. Meeting his gaze, I nodded slightly. Then, everything clicked into place. Just as I suspected! This was the Rampage Pack's heir, and Connor's uncle. It really was absurd. Somehow, I'd ended up involved with the Rampage Pack again. Grandpa had taken me to the countryside to escape all these pack power struggles, and now, because of my engagement to Caden, I'd been dragged right back into them. "Ms. Sinclair, you don't seem too thrilled to see me," Jack said softly, pulling me from my thoughts. "Not at all. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Horton," I replied with a smile. "My father, the Alpha of the Rampage Pack, was a longtime friend of your grandfather," Jack said, and there was a faint trace of amusement flickering in his eyes. I stayed silent. Caden finally spoke, his voice calm, "So, what's the reason for meeting me here, Mr. Horton?" Jack's smile shifted slightly. "Naturally, it's about the things we both want, Mr. Holbrook." Naomi's POV: I stepped out of Starplay Entertainment and waited in the underground garage for Sandra to pick me up. I kept my head down, fiddling with my phone and replying to Samuel's messages, but mostly complaining about how he'd fattened me up. Then I thought I heard something. I glanced around but didn't see anyone else in the garage. "That's weird ... " I blinked. I wondered if I imagined it, but the faint sounds came again. Clutching my phone tighter, I carefully walked in the direction of the noise. The voices got clearer as I approached, making my heart start to race. "You still think this isn't enough?" "Don't push it." I crept closer and, just as I suspected, saw two werewolves standing in a corner. A car was blocking most of the view, so I couldn't get a good look. I only saw part of one werewolf's face and didn't dare get too close. "Look, bringing you in was a huge risk. If you want to come back, it's gonna cost extra." "I'm just doing my job. We already agreed on the terms." "Whatever. I'm already here. You really think I need you? I could just go straight to the person backing you." Hearing that, my eyes narrowed. Just as I suspected ... Something shady was going on inside the company. I immediately reached for my phone to start recording. Suddenly, it vibrated and buzzed loudly.
