The Despised Luna's Comeback
A crowd of reporters surrounded me in an instant. The atmosphere was so intense it was almost suffocating. "Ms. Sinclair, do you have any explanation regarding your company's artist Naomi recently?" "Does Starplay Entertainment interfere in the personal lives of its artists?" "Are the things circulating online true? Can you respond to them?" I lightly frowned, my eyes squinting against the constant flashing of cameras. I didn't speak until the questions around me gradually quieted down. Then I raised my gaze and said calmly, "We have already stated before—please do not excessively focus on the personal lives of our artists. The youth campus drama featuring Naomi and Jasper is about to wrap up. Please focus on that instead." After finishing, I ignored the rest of the questions. The company staff had already come out to receive me and also blocked off the surrounding media reporters. At that moment, my phone rang. Looking down, I saw it was Sandra. "What's wrong?" For some reason, I had a bad feeling in my heart. "Naomi is missing! She never showed up at the set today. I called and messaged her, but she hasn't responded." Sandra's side was a bit noisy too, but it couldn't cover up the anxiety in her voice. "When was the last time you saw Naomi? Where?" I frowned and asked. There was a pause as Sandra seemed to move to a quieter place, then continued, "I didn't see her yesterday. The last person who saw her should be Jasper." "Where are you now?" I gestured to the assistant beside me, who nodded and ran into the building. "I'm heading to Naomi's apartment. I don't know if she's there." "Okay, I'll come over in a bit." I responded and had already stepped into the company building. Just then, Jasper came out of the elevator with his assistant. When he saw me, he looked momentarily stunned. "What's wrong?" Jasper snapped back to attention and quickly walked over. "You didn't go to the set today?" I stopped and asked."My scenes are in the afternoon. I was just about to head out," Jasper replied, then looked up and noticed the crowd of fans and reporters blocking the entrance to the company. His brows furrowed. "What's going on? Why are there so many media outside?" "You saw Naomi yesterday, right?" I motioned with my eyes for Jasper to follow me. "Yes, I had Sandra take her home yesterday." Jasper looked confused, as if he didn't understand why I was asking. "She didn't show up on set today. Sandra just contacted me," I said. Honestly, I was worried. Naomi had been kidnapped once before. Jasper's expression turned serious. "How could this happen? I just didn't contact her yesterday." "Let's check her apartment first." I sighed inwardly. Naomi hadn't been acting for long, but she was always very professional. She'd never skipped work like this. As we talked, we headed to the underground parking lot. I got the car and drove Jasper toward Naomi's apartment. Starplay Entertainment wasn't far from her place. We arrived almost at the same time as Sandra. Because of work, Sandra had a key to Naomi's apartment. She rang the doorbell first, and when there was no response, she unlocked and opened the door. The room was tidy, showing no signs of forced entry. The sight made us all exchange uneasy glances. "How could this be ... " Sandra's face paled. I was a little shocked too. Could it really be another kidnapping like last time? "Should we call the police?" Sandra asked, just as her phone suddenly rang. "It's Naomi!" She lit up with joy and quickly answered. "Naomi! Where are you right now? Why haven't you answered your phone or replied to any messages?" There was no immediate reply from the other side. After a brief silence, Naomi's slightly hoarse voice came through. "Who are you?" Sandra froze, caught off guard, then looked at me. I gestured for her to hand me the phone. "Naomi, it's Rosaline. Where are you right now?" I asked, steadying my tone.Naomi's voice didn't sound like she'd been kidnapped—more like she was sick or something. "I ... " Naomi gave a soft hum, and then we heard rustling sounds from the other end. "I'm at home ... " I froze. At home? But weren't we standing in her apartment right now?
