The Despised Luna's Comeback
The storm aboard the cruise ship finally cleared up, and Caden and I made it safely to Valentina Island. As soon as we completed our check-in, I was eager to head straight to the beach. The soft sand beneath my feet and the view of the horizon where the ocean touched the sky, glowing a soft orange from the sunset, were simply stunning. "Caden, look at how beautiful this place is!" I waved my hand toward Caden, who was standing behind me. Caden quickly joined me, and I took his hand as we strolled along the beach, the soft sea breeze tangling my hair. "It feels like it's been forever since I've been this at ease," I said lazily. "If you love it here, we can stay as long as you want," Caden replied in a gentle tone. "I don't think so. The views are great, but the real fun and delicious food await us back home," I said with a smile. Caden gently brushed the hair from my face, "As long as I'm with you, anywhere is perfect." I blinked at him, then stood on my toes to give him a quick hug around the neck, "Caden, I'm so glad I met you." As the sun set, we shared a passionate kiss. Caden's POV: Later that evening, Rosaline curled up in my arms as we watched a movie. Though she had picked it out, she started to criticize it as it played. "Honestly, if the female lead had just explained a little, this whole movie wouldn't even exist. Who still enjoys this kind of melodramatic stuff?" I didn't react to her complaints since I never really cared about movies like this. But then I heard her muttering, "The male lead is pretty good-looking, though. Which agency is he signed with?" I glanced down and saw Rosaline busy looking up details on her phone. Wait a minute. Was she really checking out handsome guys in front of me? She really doesn't consider me, her husband, at all. I frowned.Rosaline, unaware of my growing irritation, kept talking, "The younger brother's got a nice build too ... " Before she could open another picture, I swiftly snatched her phone from her hand. As she looked up in surprise, I turned her head toward me by holding her chin. My cold stare met her eyes, "He's good-looking and has a nice build?" "Hmm ... " Rosaline, unfazed, reached up and pressed gently against my chest. "It's a bit lacking." I raised an eyebrow, slowly buttoning my shirt, and looked down at her. "Are you sure about that?" Only then did Rosaline realize she might have said the wrong thing. She let out a small whine and tried to stand up, but I pulled her back. "Caden! You rascal! Ah, no, not there ... " Naomi's POV: On the set of My Youth, My Choice. Everything was going smoothly on my end, but Jasper was facing one issue after another, and it seemed like trouble was following him everywhere. "Jasper, what's going on with you lately? You're acting strange," the manager said, looking concerned as he patted Jasper on the shoulder. "Sorry, maybe I've just been really tired lately. I'll head back to the hotel for now," Jasper replied with a weak smile before leaving alone. I watched from a distance, then quietly decided to follow him. Sure enough, I saw him walk into a bar. I hesitated for a moment, but curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to go in after him. The music in the bar was blaring, and I crinkled my nose at the noise as I scanned the room. Eventually, I found Jasper sitting in the corner. He was silently sipping his wine, his expression one of utter dejection. I bit my lower lip, hesitating for a moment. In the end, I didn't walk over to him. Instead, I sat down in a spot where I could still see him. Jasper's POV: I drank from my glass, keeping my head lowered as I scrolled through the photos on my phone. One photo stood out. That is a candid shot of Rosaline at work, one I had taken long ago and kept ever since. As I stared at her beaming smile, I recalled the engagement ceremony. She had worn the same smile when she stood next to Caden. It was clear to me that Rosaline was truly happy. A wave of sadness washed over me, and I absentmindedly traced the rim of my glass, bitterness rising within me. Why couldn't I be the one by her side? That thought pushed me to grab the wine bottle and drink straight from it, the harsh alcohol causing me to cough violently. "Jasper, are you out of your mind?" a voice called out from above. I looked up to see Naomi standing in front of me, snatching the bottle away. "What are you doing here?" I asked, my brow furrowing. "If you can come here to drink, why can't I?" Naomi's eyes briefly flashed with something before she sat beside me. She hesitated for a moment, lips pressed tight, before finally pouring a small shot of wine for me. "If you're going to drink, do it right. Why act like you're on the brink of death?" I shot her a quick look, my lips curling in a bitter smile, before I quickly finished the wine in my hand. "So, what's been happening with you lately? You seem so out of it," Naomi remarked, clearly aware of something. "She's engaged," I said absentmindedly. "Guess what goes around, comes around. You turned me down, and now you're in love but can't have her," Naomi said with a dry laugh, though her expression remained somber.
