The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 627 The Engagement Ceremony (Part Three)

The sharp slap left everyone stunned. I looked calmly at Rosaline, completely unfazed. "Shut up," Rosaline said coldly, heels clicking as she stepped toward Heidi. "How dare you hit me? Rosaline, how dare you hit me!" Heidi finally snapped, shaking with rage. She pointed at Rosaline and screamed, "Die! All of you just die! You bitch!" With a twisted expression, Heidi gritted her teeth and pressed the remote control button. Claire was shocked and shouted, "Watch out!" But the dressing room remained eerily silent. "What's going on?" Heidi's smirk froze. She stared at the remote in disbelief, pressing the button again and again—nothing happened. "This can't be!" she screamed hysterically. "So noisy." Rosaline scoffed, then raised her hand and slapped Heidi in the face. This time, she didn't hold back. Heidi stumbled from the blow. "She's so thick-skinned, my hand's sore now." Rosaline pouted, rubbing her palm as she leaned into my arms. I took her hand and softly massaged her reddened fingertips. "There's no need to hurt yourself over a madman," I said gently, then lifted her fingers and kissed them tenderly. Rosaline's POV: While Caden and I were caught up in our affectionate moment, Heidi covered her cheek, staring at the remote in disbelief and mumbling over and over, "Impossible ... Impossible ... " She trembled slightly, her face full of disbelief. I left Caden's arms, stood in front of Heidi, and looked down at her. "Did you really think you could sneak in here that easily and even find my dressing room?" "What are you talking about?" Heidi looked up at me, stunned. I sneered. Caden and I had seen through Heidi's little actions long ago. He was ready to take her out the moment she showed up today, but I held him back. And those explosives had been dismantled, of course.Since she wanted to play games, I was more than willing to play along. "You tricked me? You actually tricked me?!" Heidi shrieked, her eyes narrowed in rage, her expression gruesome. I shrugged and said softly, "I didn't trick you. I just wanted you to die knowing why." That completely triggered Heidi. She screamed, and shifted into a wolf to bite me, but the waiting black wolf bodyguards pinned her and clawed her until she desperately shifted back. "Take her away," Caden said, turning away with a look of disgust. "Rosaline! You bitch! I curse you! You'll never die peacefully! You'll never have a good death!" Heidi continued to shout curses as she was dragged off, still furious and unwilling to give up. The wolf bodyguards acted quickly, stuffing a towel in Heidi's mouth to silence her. I watched Heidi being taken away, letting out a long breath of relief. Finally, that problem was completely dealt with. Caden and I exchanged a glance, both of us smiling in relief. Claire, however, was still in shock from the scene, standing motionless for a while before snapping out of it. Worried, she glanced at me. "Ms. Sinclair, your hair ... " I glanced at my loose hair falling over my shoulders, then nonchalantly shook my head at Claire. "No, it's fine like this. It actually looks pretty good." The brief interruption had no impact, and the engagement ceremony proceeded smoothly. At exactly eight o'clock, the ceremony began on schedule. The soft, enchanting music filled the air as all eyes in the ballroom turned to us, the soon-to-be-engaged couple. Arm in arm, Caden and I made a breathtaking entrance before all the prominent werewolves of Rivemon. As the ceremony continued, we were surrounded by blessings. When I noticed the envious looks of the crowd, I smiled sweetly. Thinking back to when I first arrived in Rivemon, to now being engaged to Caden, it all felt like a dream. And the ones who made all of this happen—my grandfather and Alpha Richard—were both sitting below, smiling at me proudly. I took Caden's hand and walked off the stage, then threw myself into my grandfather's arms, playfully calling out, "Grandpa!" "You finally remember to see your grandpa, huh? I thought you'd forgotten all about me," my grandfather said, gently patting my head, his face full of adoration. "Grandpa, how can you say that about me? I'm gonna get upset!" I said and huffed. "You little rascal, fine, I won't say anything more." My grandpa chuckled, tapping my forehead. He then turned his attention to Caden. Caden nodded politely toward him. My grandpa cleared his throat. "If you hurt my granddaughter, I won't spare you. Understand?" "Exactly," Richard chimed in from the side. "If you hurt her, just wait and see how I deal with you." Caden put his arm around me and said earnestly, "I will cherish her forever, until death." I bit my lip, feeling a warmth in my heart. At that moment, I truly felt like the happiest woman in the world.
