The Despised Luna's Comeback
An overwhelming sense of gratitude filled my heart. This necklace was designed by a highly renowned jewelry designer on the Werewolf Continent. I had always admired her work, but she had retired from the design world years ago. This necklace was her final design, never actually crafted into existence. I never expected that a casual mention of liking this piece, lamenting the designer's retirement, would lead Caden to ... "How did you manage this?" I asked, my face brimming with surprise as I looked at Caden through the mirror. He wrapped his arms around my waist, planting a gentle kiss on my neck. "If you love it, I'll make it happen," he murmured tenderly. Happiness spread through me, feeling like a warm tide. My fingers intertwined with his, eyes drifting to the engagement rings on our fingers. Turning my head, I kissed his cheek. "Thank you, Caden." With a glint of affection in his eyes, Caden leaned closer, the meaning clear in his gaze. I smiled shyly and pressed my lips to his. Claire's POV: Peeking through the door crack of the dressing room, I struggled to contain a fangirl scream. "Those two are just too perfect together," I muttered, biting my fingertip. The scene made me blush, so I turned away. But as I did, I nearly bumped into a masked female werewolf. Startled, I almost let out a scream. "Who are you?" I asked, clutching my chest to steady my breath, eyes brimming with suspicion. The female werewolf hesitated, her gaze shifty. "Ah, Caden sent me to deliver something to Rosaline." Her explanation only heightened my suspicions. After all, Caden was right in the dressing room. What needed to be delivered by someone else? "What is it? Let me see," I demanded, reaching out. She fidgeted with her clothes, avoiding eye contact. This was getting stranger by the second. I reached to grab her arm, but she abruptly shoved me aside and burst into the dressing room.Caden's POV: The sudden intrusion of the female werewolf took both Rosaline and me by surprise. Already on edge, I immediately positioned myself protectively in front of Rosaline. "Rosaline, you wretch!" Heidi shrieked, ripping off her mask to reveal a haggard and twisted face. "Heidi?!" Rosaline gasped, recognizing her immediately. Frowning, I thought, Thiswomanisrelentless. "You didn't expect me to get in, did you?" Heidi sneered, staring vindictively at me. "So much for Mr. Holbrook's heavily guarded engagement party." "So, what's your plan?" Rosaline inquired calmly, not at all rattled by Heidi's appearance. Heidi scowled, displeased with Rosaline's composure. "I have a special gift for you!" she hissed menacingly. Right then, a swarm of werewolf bodyguards rushed in, encircling Heidi. This was the security I had arranged beforehand, precisely for moments like this. "Take her away," I ordered coldly. But Heidi didn't flinch. She pulled out a device resembling a remote control from her pocket. "Move, and I press this!" she shrieked, holding up her arm. Rosaline clutched my arm tightly as we glared at Heidi. Her vicious eyes scanned Rosaline's face before she let out a piercing laugh. "I've planted explosives around here. One push of this button, and you'll be blown to pieces!" Everyone's faces drained of color. I hadn't anticipated Heidi to resort to such extreme violence. "She's lost it," Rosaline whispered. "How does it feel, Rosaline? This time, I've won! I've won!" Heidi cackled madly. "I'll take you down with me, Rosaline. You ruined my life, and now it's my turn." Her face twisted into a hideous mask of insanity. Rosaline's brow furrowed slightly. To Heidi, this looked like fear, something she relished. Gloating, she brandished the remote."Afraid now? Good. If you beg for mercy or agree to let me marry Caden, I might spare your life." Heidi's gaze flickered with obsession as she looked at me. But I only had eyes for Rosaline, which fueled Heidi's jealousy even more. "Ros ... " Heidi's expression turned hateful as she started to speak again, but Rosaline suddenly stepped away from me. In quick strides, she moved up to Heidi and delivered a stinging slap to her face.
