The Despised Luna's Comeback
Rosaline's POV: Lately, I've been running into all sorts of trouble. Like, just the other day, a flowerpot was mysteriously dropped right in front of me on my way to work ... and that's just one of many incidents. The first time, I could brush it off as an accident. The second time, a coincidence. But after several similar occurrences, it was clear something was up. It seemed like someone was deliberately targeting me, but who could it be? Thinking about it wouldn't solve anything. So, I handed the matter over to Anthony to investigate. Surprisingly, just two days later, he came back with some shocking news. "Rosaline, remember Tessa? It seems she's the mastermind behind all this. I traced her today; she's currently at Everett's villa, the heir of the New Moon Pack." "What?" My brows furrowed involuntarily. "Heidi had returned to Rivemon?" Howboldofhertocomebackafterescapingprison! As Anthony repeated the information over the phone, I paused for a few seconds before responding, "Alright, I understand. Please keep an eye on Heidi's movements for me." "Sure. By the way, Rosaline, I suspect Heidi has rekindled things with Everett and plans to come after you and Mr. Holbrook. You both need to be careful," Anthony cautioned. I softened my tone a little. "Got it, thank you." After hanging up, my unease grew. I decided to tell Caden about Heidi's return. When Caden answered, his voice turned serious. "The engagement ceremony is tomorrow. If Heidi shows up, I'll have people keep an eye on her. Don't worry about it. Focus on being the beautiful bride-to-be." I murmured my agreement, hoping nothing would go wrong. Caden's POV: By nine in the morning, the venue for our engagement ceremony was bustling. People were decorating with flowers, balloons, and little figurines representing us. Everything was running smoothly. However, there were many new faces present as well—undercover bodyguards from our wolf pack, placed strategically by Beta Yale to prevent any disruption from Heidi.I've always thought of Heidi as mentally unstable. While I was somewhat worried, I wasn't afraid of her. I just didn't want today's ceremony to be ruined. "Mr. Holbrook, everything is ready," Yale approached and reported. I nodded, glancing at my watch. A smile crept onto my face. Itwasalmosttime. Rosaline's POV: I sat quietly in the dressing room, gazing into the mirror with a tender smile playing on my lips. "Ms. Sinclair, you look absolutely stunning today." The makeup artist, Claire Norell, stood beside me, carefully touching up my makeup. "What, do I not look good any other day?" I teased softly. "I never said that. Don't put words in my mouth," Claire retorted quickly. Her response made my eyes crinkle with laughter. Claire was young, and I loved teasing her. Seeing my amused expression, Claire pouted, which only made me laugh harder. Ignoring my teasing, Claire inspected my makeup one last time before bringing over my dress. "Ms. Sinclair, it's time to change into your gown." I nodded, taking the gown from her. My fingers lightly brushed the fabric, a soft glow in my eyes. "Ms. Sinclair, stop standing there and hurry up!" Claire couldn't wait, nudging me towards the dressing room. I shook my head in resignation, letting Claire push me inside. "Claire, my hair has come loose. Can you help me ... " A few moments later, I stepped out in the dress, only to find Caden waiting. Dressed in a tailored suit, he looked taller and more handsome than ever, his hair neatly pulled back. His eyes lit up with admiration the moment he saw me. "How are you here ... and where's Claire?" I stammered, feeling a bit flustered. "She stepped outside," Caden said, extending a hand to me. His deep voice resonated, sending a thrill through me. "Babe, you look stunning."I gave him a sweet smile, placing my fingers in his palm as he pulled me into his arms. I blinked, and some loose strands of my hair fell onto my rounded shoulder. "Oh, my hair ... " I started, reaching out to fix it, but Caden was faster. His slender fingers swept through my hair, gathering it all to one side. Then, Caden pulled out a small box from his pocket. Inside was a necklace. He took it out and carefully clasped it around my neck. I looked at the simple design in the mirror, initially thinking it didn't quite match my elaborate gown. But then, realization dawned on me. "Is this ... ?" I grasped the necklace, my expression one of surprise. "You said you really liked it," Caden murmured, fingers playing with a strand of my hair.
