The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 624 Such a Hassle

I stared blankly at my phone, then turned to look at Samuel. He was still in the same relaxed pose, watching me with a calm expression. "Why aren't you driving yet?" I pushed his chest lightly with my hand. Samuel didn't say a word; he just leaned in, offering his cheek for a kiss. "Just drive, will you?" I gave Samuel a playful glare and pushed his cheek away. Samuel smiled slightly and started the car. With a ding, my phone lit up with a message from my manager. "So this is what you're like when you're in love. Looks like your acting skills need work." Grinding my teeth at the playful message, I sent back a smiley face emoji and decided to ignore her. Honestly, calling it a date was a bit of a stretch. It felt more like Samuel was simply tagging along while I shopped. Samuel had suggested several interesting places to go yesterday, but none of them caught my interest. Eventually, I mentioned a mall offhandedly, and that settled our date location. But the moment we stepped inside, I regretted it. This was technically our first real date, and I had chosen such an ordinary place. "Uh ... if you're bored, we can go somewhere else," I said awkwardly, adjusting my mask and looking at Samuel. "Not at all. As long as I'm with you, I can never be bored," he said lightly, tucking a stray lock of hair behind my ear. I puffed out my cheeks, feeling a bit helpless. Seeing this, Samuel took my hand and led me forward. Watching his back, a sense of bittersweet emotion filled my chest, and I quickly caught up to him. The saying "shopping is a woman's nature" fits me perfectly. Initially, Samuel was leading me, but soon enough, it was me dragging him from store to store. "Does this look good?" I asked, holding a dress up against myself and turning to Samuel. Samuel looked at the dress seriously, then nodded."You never give any substantial advice. You nod at every single one!" I muttered. Samuel chuckled. "You're beautiful, and you've got great taste. Everything you pick looks good on you." His sudden compliment made me turn my head sharply, glancing at the dress with my fingers. "You could pick something for me too ... " "Hmm?" Samuel heard me clearly and smiled, his gaze falling on a dress on display. "I'll take that dress and all the ones she tried on," Samuel said, walking to the counter and pulling out his card. "You're such a great boyfriend," the shop assistant said, taking the card. A warm feeling spread in my chest. Samuel was not only rich and handsome but also incredibly thoughtful and considerate. But just as I was about to change into one of the outfits, I noticed two girls peeking out from another fitting room, their expressions shifting as they recognized me, pulling out their phones to snap pictures. "Quick, we need to go. I think they recognized me," I whispered urgently to Samuel, pointing toward the dressing room. Samuel glanced over, grabbed my hand, and we dashed out of the store. "Sir! Your clothes and card!" the shop assistant called out, but we were already gone, leaving her stunned. After running through several turns, Samuel finally stopped, and I looked back to see no one following us. I let out a sigh of relief. "Being a celebrity is such a hassle," I muttered, rubbing my neck. "By the way, was that shop assistant your friend?" "Hmm? What did you say?" Samuel clearly hadn't understood me. "When we ran, she was still greeting you," I said, blinking at him. Samuel chuckled, shaking his head, and pinched my cheek gently. "What are you doing?" I stepped back, looking at him. "You dragged me out before I could pay for the clothes, including the one you're wearing, which still has the tag," he pointed out.I looked down, and sure enough, the tag was dangling from my dress, making me feel incredibly embarrassed. "So what do we do? Go back for them?" I pouted. "I'll call the mall and have them send the clothes to the parking lot." Samuel sighed, shaking his head. We looked at each other and burst into laughter. Hmm, withoutJasperaround, thisdoesn'tfeelso bad afterall.
