The Despised Luna's Comeback
Samuel's hands tightened on the wheel, his eyes flickering like he wanted to speak. But before he could say anything, I turned to him and said calmly, "I'm hungry. Let's go eat. You've already made arrangements, haven't you?" "Yeah," he answered softly, then started the car. I rested my head against the window, holding the flowers in my arms and quietly watching the scenery outside go by. When we stopped at a red light, Samuel finally broke the silence. "I'm sorry." "What's wrong?" I snapped out of my thoughts, confused about why he suddenly apologized. "I shouldn't have confessed in front of all those reporters. I acted on impulse and probably caused you some trouble." "That's all?" I gave a faint smile. "You're upset. I can see it," Samuel said as he looked into my eyes. I nodded slightly. "Yeah, I'm feeling off, but it's not because of you. It's a new drama—I can't quite get into the role." I shifted in my seat, trying to get comfortable. "I've been out of school for years, and that whole youthful feeling is hard to recapture. Acting in a teen drama now just feels weird." The mood between us eased, and the tension from earlier faded. After chatting casually with Samuel for a bit, the car came to a stop. "Is this your house?" I glanced at the villa, somehow feeling like I'd been there before. "Yeah, it's where we first met," he said, gently taking my hand. "I was going to take you out to eat, but I figured something home-cooked would be nicer." I followed him inside, where a candlelit dinner was already set up. It was clear from the setup and the food that Samuel had put real effort into it. I sat down and watched the candlelight flicker softly. "Looks like you've seen a lot of roses today," he said with a smile, noticing where my eyes had wandered. "I don't mind. I like them," I said, glancing at Samuel, who was showing nothing but tenderness. The moment felt just right. We sat there in silence, looking at each other. The scent of roses slowly filled the room, wrapping around us.As Samuel leaned in, I had the urge to pull away, but I froze instead. His kiss landed gently on my lips—soft, tentative, testing how I'd react. I tilted my head slightly but didn't push him away or kiss him back. I closed my eyes, trying to stay calm. But then, a familiar face flashed through my mind. I clenched the chair, and a dull ache rose in my chest. Moon Goddess, did I make a mistake by accepting Samuel? Rosaline's POV: I got home after a long day, but instead of unwinding, I turned on my laptop. The news was full of stories about Naomi. On top of the romance rumors, there were even wild claims about her being secretly married with a child. The headlines were chaotic, and my head started to ache. Caden walked over. Seeing the stress on my face, he kissed my forehead. "Something wrong?" he asked gently. "It's about Naomi, that actress from my company. She went public with her relationship today—right in front of the media," I said, holding his hand and leaning against his chest. Caden wasn't particularly interested in Naomi's news. He didn't comment, just started massaging my shoulders to help me relax. Afterward, I reached out to the PR team and asked them to post something on Twitter, reminding the public to respect Naomi's privacy and shift the focus back to her work. I didn't bother checking the reactions online. I turned around and snuggled into Caden's arms, pressing my face against his neck. His expression softened as he gently massaged me. Feeling relaxed, I looked up and kissed his chin. "That's your reward!" "Hmm?" His tone lifted slightly, clearly not satisfied. "You should be content with what you got," I teased, rolling my eyes. I tried to get up, but he pulled me back by the waist. I let out a small yelp of surprise. In the end, though, I stayed right there—wrapped in his arms, his kiss lingering much longer than expected.
