The Despised Luna's Comeback
Rosaline's POV: I never thought things would blow up like this. The buzz around the situation might end up stealing the spotlight from the drama itself. My head was starting to ache. Naomi always seemed to get dragged into trending topics. It felt like she got both the best and the worst out of it. It was hard to believe a public relationship announcement wouldn't stir things up. "Is this truly okay?" Naomi's manager, Sandra, asked with a worried look. I watched Naomi's back without responding. "Ms. Lawrence, how long have you and Mr. Foster known each other? Were you already together before today's official reveal?" "Ms. Lawrence, there were rumors about you and Jasper before. Why didn't you address them back then?" "Can you tell us how you two started dating?" The questions from the reporters came one after another. Naomi looked overwhelmed. That was when Samuel stepped forward to stand in front of her, taking the lead. "I've admired Naomi for a long time," he said smoothly. "After getting to know her, I started trying to win her over. I'm not great at romance, so I didn't think she'd say yes to being my girlfriend ... " Samuel answered each question calmly, never revealing anything too personal, making sure Naomi was protected. I nodded silently. He clearly came prepared, and that helped ease my nerves a bit. Naomi's POV: Standing beside Samuel, I looked up at him, feeling a little guilty. After all, I had said yes on a whim just moments ago. As if he felt my gaze, Samuel turned, and our eyes locked for a moment. I saw my reflection in his sincere gaze, and for a second, I froze as a quiet emotion stirred inside me.That brief exchange didn't go unnoticed—the reporters around us all quickly snapped photos. At Rosaline's signal, Sandra stepped in, guiding the press back to questions about the new drama, and then wrapped up the interview. I let out a breath of relief, and just then, someone gave my hand a gentle squeeze. I looked up and saw Samuel. He held my hand and smiled. "I'm glad you said yes." It was the first time I'd seen such a bright, happy look on his face. It caught me off guard and felt a bit strange. He'd always been so calm and steady. Now, he looked almost nervous. "You're squeezing too hard," I said, giving him a helpless look. "Oh ... sorry." Samuel quickly let go of my hand, finally realizing what he was doing. "I always thought doctors had strong nerves. I've never seen you like this before," I joked. "It's not the first time," he replied, his expression softening. "The first time I saw you, talked to you, asked you out ... anything involving you makes me nervous. "I used to think love at first sight wasn't real. I believed feelings took time to grow. I could perform back-to-back surgeries, handle complex tools, and give lectures in front of huge crowds without blinking. "But every time I see you, my heart starts racing, and I get completely flustered. Do you know that? Once something is linked to you, it feels completely different to me." His unexpected honesty left me speechless. I gave a small smile but said nothing. Not long after the launch ceremony, both Samuel's name and mine appeared on the trending list again. Soon, people started digging into his background. It was revealed that he was the heir to the Meteor Pack, and the internet went wild. He was rich, well-educated, and handsome. When someone posted the interview from the launch, online comments exploded. "I've met Dr. Foster before. I was once treated at the hospital where he worked. He's good-looking and kind! But seeing him with Naomi feels unreal.""He comes from a rich family and graduated from a top school. Maybe he's the one backing Naomi?" "She's been all over the trending page lately. No wonder she can afford to buy trendy searches—it turns out her boyfriend is wealthy." "Don't you guys think Naomi looks kind of unhappy in those photos?" "I unfollowed her. She just started her career and already jumped into dating? Seriously? Looks like she stopped caring about work after getting a rich guy. Seeing all the comments online, Sandra rubbed her forehead and looked at me helplessly, complaining, "You acted too rashly. Why didn't you give me a heads-up? I've told you before—dating is a big deal."
