The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 613 A Little Fireworks in Life

I let out a quiet sigh of relief, though my heart still felt bitter. I couldn't help but turn my face away. "Don't be so sure. I know her too well—she will chase him down if she likes someone. I just didn't expect Mr. Holbrook to be that irresistible, enough to lure a little princess all the way from Fostrau to Rivemon." I pouted as I spoke. Anyone with ears could tell I was jealous. Caden sat up, looked at me for a while, and then suddenly chuckled. "Look at us—neither of us is innocent here. Didn't Joel chase after you all the way here? And he even showed up earlier than Michelle, if I recall." "You—" I was instantly speechless. I couldn't believe Caden, the jealous king of the Werewolf Continent, would bring that up now. I was caught between amusement and exasperation. I reached out and gave his arm a playful pinch. "You're the worst! I'm not talking to you anymore." Caden immediately pulled me into his arms. "Alright, alright, don't be mad. I was just teasing you. I'm only focused on one thing right now—getting to our engagement ceremony as soon as possible, making you officially my fiancée, and clearing every obstacle in our way." Caden's POV: Although Rosaline wasn't jealous anymore, Michelle's drama was far from over. At first, I thought this princess was just being impulsive. But for five or six days straight—just like Joel once did—she kept showing up at my office in the morning or afternoon. "Michelle, what exactly do you want?" Just seeing her walk through my office doors gave me a headache. I couldn't exactly throw out a princess from Fostrau's wolf clan, so I had to put up with her. Michelle beamed. "Nothing much. I'm just here to pursue you. Seeing the person I like every day makes me happy. I told you I'm the one who suits you best." As she spoke, she casually strode over to my desk, looped around to the back, and leaned close, her hand resting on the chair's armrest as if by chance. Before I could react, she had already hooked her arm around mine. "Oh, and I heard there's a really good movie playing. Why don't you come with me? I'm sure Rosaline won't mind." I instinctively pulled away, glancing at her hand before gently removing my arm. "Well, I think she would mind. And as you can see, I have a mountain of work to finish. Maybe you should head back for now. And honestly, I think it's better if we keep some distance.""It's just a movie," she said, unfazed. "I'm not going to tell her." I looked her straight in the eye. "But I care. I don't want Rosaline to be hurt. And more importantly, we're just not a good match. Do you understand?" Michelle giggled. "You don't need to keep repeating that. Me chasing you is my business. Who knows—maybe one day you'll fall for me." "Suit yourself." I was beyond frustrated. I had no idea why she was so obsessed with me, but at that point, I just let her be. From then on, our conversations basically involved her asking questions and me brushing her off. Most of the time, I didn't even respond. Soon, rumors started flying around the Eclipse Pack's company. Everyone knew their boss had gotten entangled in some romantic mess. Employees even started gossiping in the break room. One day, my Beta, Yale, caught a couple of them mid-gossip. That's when I discovered a whole chat group among the staff dedicated to speculating whether I'd fall for Michelle. I was completely dumbfounded. I ordered them to disband that ridiculous group immediately. Of course, the news still made its way back to Rosaline. Unsurprisingly, she got jealous again and gave me the cold shoulder for a few days. But honestly? I didn't mind. In fact, I liked her even more for it. A little drama now and then keeps the relationship lively. Michelle's POV: I was exhausted. For days in a row, I kept chasing after Caden. I tried everything—flirting, persistence, even sulking—but it was like he had some built-in filter that just blocked me out. He either ignored me or flat-out rejected me, not sparing a shred of face. The more I thought about it, the more pissed I got. I had no idea what it would take to win over his heart. And honestly? I was starting to get tired of the whole game. If seduction didn't work, maybe it was time to change strategies. That day, I called my usual team of wolf bodyguards from Fostrau into my room. As seriously as ever, I asked, "Let me ask you guys something—what would it take to make someone like Caden fall in love?" They exchanged awkward glances. Everyone knew how crazy I was about him, but no one expected me to ask that. After a long silence, one of the bodyguards finally spoke up. "Princess Michelle, I mean, in those TV dramas, when someone can't win their crush over, they just tie them up and keep them close. Since Mr. Holbrook doesn't respond to charm or pressure, maybe you could try that? Take him back to Fostrau by force. People say love grows with time—might be worth a shot."
