The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 579 Always Saying Something Improper

Rosaline's POV: As the engagement ceremony approached, Caden became more and more excited. His mood improved significantly, even at work, and he was often smiling. Now, besides work, he spent all his free time with me. For example, today, Caden finished work early and stayed home to do a puzzle with me. But I felt somewhat distracted. Caden noticed and asked, "What's wrong? You seem off today." I shook my head. The truth was, I kept having this uneasy feeling, a sense of anxiety that I couldn't explain, even though nothing had happened. I even asked Freya, and she also had the same feeling. As the Alpha of the Shadow Pack, having such unsettling instincts usually meant something bad was about to happen. "I ... " I hesitated for a moment, then spoke slowly, "I don't know why, but today I just feel anxious. Sometimes, I even feel like something will go wrong at our engagement ceremony—it won't go as smoothly as we first imagined." Caden paused briefly, then affectionately ruffled my hair. "Don't worry, I've got everything under control. You're just overthinking. Has work been too busy lately? Designing clothes and all, maybe you're just exhausted?" "It's not that ... " Even though Caden said that, the anxiety inside me didn't ease. I looked up into his eyes and forced a smile, trying to act like everything was fine. I didn't want to worry him, so I decided to brush off the topic. "Never mind, I'm probably just overthinking. It's fine, you don't have to worry about me." "Okay, just relax at home. If you don't want to work, don't. We're getting engaged soon, so focus on getting ready to be a beautiful fiancée. If you ever feel like not working, I'll take care of you. Eclipse Group is so big, I can afford it." Caden helped me to my feet and changed the subject. "By the way, didn't you mention missing your grandpa recently? How about we go to Eclipse Pack's old mansion and visit the two old men?" I nodded, and we both quickly got ready and left. When we arrived at the old mansion, we happened to run into a maid who was watering the plants. "Where's Grandpa?" Caden asked, stopping the maid. The maid smiled when she saw us and said, "Mr. Caden, Ms. Sinclair, Mr. Richard is in the study playing chess with Mr. Hubert. They'll be happy to see you both." Caden smiled indifferently. As we approached the study door, we could hear my grandpa's loud voice saying things like, "Checkmate, the Queen," sounding really happy. Caden and I shared a smile, and he knocked on the door. After a moment, we heard a voice from inside say, "Come in." Caden took my hand, and we walked inside. When my grandpa and Richard saw us, their faces immediately brightened with smiles. "Come in, come in! We were just talking about you two the other day. Why didn't you call before coming back?" "I just wanted to surprise you," I said, and as soon as I saw my grandpa, all the anxiety and worry inside me vanished. "Rosie, it's only been a few days since I last saw you, but you look like you've lost weight. How have you been lately? Is everything okay?" As he said this, my grandpa glanced at Caden. "Tell me, he hasn't been giving you trouble, has he?" Hearing this, Caden shook his head helplessly and smiled. I walked over, and gave my grandpa a comforting hug. "Grandpa, Caden has always been very good to me, so you don't have to worry." Seeing this, Richard chimed in, "Don't worry. I've watched Caden grow up; he's harmless. And if he mistreats Rosie, I'll be the first to come after him." My grandpa huffed playfully and said, "He's a good kid, but Rosie is my granddaughter! You're letting her marry your grandson, and I can't even ask a question?" "Okay, okay," I quickly interrupted. "Stop arguing over something so trivial. Caden and I are doing fine, so there's no need to worry." Richard slapped his forehead and said, "I didn't know you two were coming back today, and I didn't have the maids prepare your favorite dishes." As Richard got up to call the servants, I quickly stopped him and said kindly, "No need to trouble yourself. Caden and I don't get the chance to visit often, so let's not bother the maids today. How about we cook for you instead? You can try our cooking." My grandpa and Richard exchanged a look and immediately agreed.
