The Despised Luna's Comeback
Caden and I had spent two hours in the kitchen preparing a feast. By the time we finished, the two elders had already left the study and were seated at the dining table, waiting. The meal brought a joyful and harmonious atmosphere to the family. "Rosie's cooking is amazing. This is the best meal I've ever had," Richard said, looking happy and energetic, likely because of our visit. Around 8 p.m., Richard came downstairs and was talking to me when the butler walked over and said, "Mr. Richard, Mr. Caden and Ms. Sinclair are back. About their room ... " Richard suddenly seemed to remember, looking at the butler and saying, "Oh, that's right! Most of the rooms upstairs have been rented out, so the only one left is Caden's bedroom, right?" The butler hesitated for a moment, then quickly added, "Yes, yes, that's right. A few days ago, you mentioned it was too quiet and wanted to try renting out the rooms like others do. So, the bedrooms were rented out for a few days, and now only Mr. Caden's room is left empty." Caden and I were both shocked hearing this. Rented out? How could that be? What was this Alpha thinking? Richard gave the butler an approving glance before casually saying, "Okay, go ahead and make the arrangements." Once the butler left, Richard turned to me and said, "Rosie, I know you and Caden aren't officially married yet, but look, it's just an unfortunate situation. Why don't you stay in Caden's room tonight? After all, we're all family now, and I'm not some old-fashioned person." Hearing this, I felt a little embarrassed, and Caden quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, "Grandpa, you ... " My grandpa gave Richard, who was seated across from him, a knowing look. They exchanged glances, then rose, saying, "Oh my, oh my, old age makes us sleepy. We won't bother you young ones. We're off to bed." In the end, I had to share a room with Caden. As I lay in bed, I felt a bit awkward, not sure where to place my arms and legs. Although we were technically an engaged couple, and we had shared some flirtatious and intimate moments before, it was still the first time we were actually spending the night together in the same bed. When Caden came out of the bathroom after a shower, he saw me lying stiffly in bed, gripping the edge of the blanket and looking tense. He couldn't help but laugh. He pulled back the blanket and lay down, his hand reaching to lightly touch my fingertips. I immediately flinched and withdrew my hand. "What's wrong? Why are you so nervous?" Caden asked. I felt my ears burning uncontrollably. Even though there was still some distance between us, I felt like I could sense his breath, and even had the illusion that we were pressed close together. I unconsciously swallowed, and when I spoke, my words came out a little faltered. "No ... It's nothing. Just a bit nervous." Caden chuckled, then wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer. "Why are you so nervous? We've shared a room before. There's nothing to be scared of." The only light in the room was a dim nightlight, casting a soft yellow glow. He turned me to face him, looking into his eyes. I felt shy. "You ... Why are you saying such improper things? You're never like this at work. Aren't you ashamed?" Caden instantly wore an innocent look. "I swear, I only say these things to you. If I don't say sweet things to my girl, who else would I say them to?" I had seen Caden act so gently before, but maybe a warm, intimate atmosphere made me slowly relax. I reached from under the covers, put my arms around his neck, leaned in, smiled, and whispered in his ear, "Caden, you're so good." Caden didn't say anything, but his gaze deepened. He cupped my face, stared for a moment, and then suddenly kissed me. The kiss was gentle yet lingering, as if he wanted to devour me, leaving a trail of hickeys, big and small, on my neck and collarbone. In the heat of the moment, I had to summon all my willpower to regain my composure. I was a person with principles, and I couldn't allow myself to go further before marriage. Even though it was Caden, someone I truly cared for, I knew I couldn't break that rule. "No!" Just as Caden was about to take the next step, I placed my hand against his chest. "Caden ... You promised we'd wait until after we're married. Can we keep that promise?" "Fine." Caden looked at me for a long moment, sighing deeply. His voice was calm, but it still carried a hint of suppressed emotion. "You're going to kill me. Okay, you sleep. I ... need to step out for a moment." My face and neck burned with embarrassment, and I could only nod, turning away to bury myself under the blanket. The door opened and closed quietly. I closed my eyes, but a sweet smile spread across my face.
