The Despised Luna's Comeback
I deliberately walked further away, keeping my back to the hotel, so no one would see me. About half an hour later, five werewolf reporters came rushing toward me. As soon as they spotted me, one of them hurried over and asked, "Ms. Crawford, is the tip you gave us real? We gave up our day off for this—please don't tell us it's a hoax." I clicked my tongue impatiently. "Have I ever lied to you? I saw it with my own eyes. If you're aiming to hit your targets and earn that raise this month, you'd better follow me upstairs!" The moment they heard that, the reporters were convinced. Without another word, they got into the elevator and headed straight for the third floor. I tiptoed up to Room 302, holding the room key card I'd picked up earlier from the front desk. I swiped the card, and opened the door wide. The reporters immediately stormed in, cameras flashing as they started taking photos indiscriminately. Sure enough, there was a man and woman on the bed, caught in an ambiguous pose. The woman was Rosaline and the man ... "Who let you in?" A low, suppressed voice filled with fury suddenly rang out, making the reporters freeze in place. One by one, they stopped taking pictures. It was Caden. I had been standing behind the reporters, peeking through the small gap to watch them take photos—only to be startled by Caden's voice filled with restrained anger. I froze in place, instinctively pushing past two reporters to step forward, my eyes wide in disbelief as I looked at the man who had turned to face me. It was really Caden. How could this be? Wasn't it supposed to be the werewolf prince in this room? I stood there, dumbfounded, feeling shock and anger. Rosaline had her arms around Caden's neck, with an unnatural blush on her face, while Caden was lying on Rosaline, both of them covered with a quilt, which just covered their private parts. It was obvious what had been going on, even without explanation. I quietly stepped back. I couldn't let Caden see me.Rosaline's POV: Caden turned to face the werewolf reporters, his gaze sharp as he hissed through gritted teeth, "Have you seen enough?" The reporters' faces changed instantly. They grew tense and nervous, too scared to even look at Caden, afraid they might anger the powerful figure in front of them. I buried my face in Caden's neck, secretly laughing. Caden's act was flawless. At that moment, a reporter who seemed more experienced stepped forward, wiping the sweat off his forehead, and with a nervous smile, he said, "Oh, no, no! It's just that someone reported a fake news story, saying a young idol was here with his girlfriend. That's why we came. We're really sorry, Mr. Holbrook. Please, go on with Ms. Sinclair. We'll leave you two alone." He took a couple of steps back, turned, and waved his hand, urging the others to leave. Lowering his voice, he urged, "Hurry up, get out!" Once the reporters were gone, I lifted my head, letting out a relieved sigh, and smiled. "Finally, they're gone. That whole act was exhausting." Caden smiled, pulled back the blanket, and sat up on the bed. His pants were still on, and my clothes remained intact. The reporters, scared of him, had hurriedly left without paying much attention. This was the plan that Joel and I had come up with. I called Caden over first to help me "put on a show" in front of Wendy. As for Joel, after we went upstairs the second time, he headed straight into the room next door. Sitting up on the bed, I smiled and said, "All right, now that the reporters are gone, it's time for Joel to come back. This is his room, after all." Caden nodded, but then chuckled softly. The smile on his face made me feel uneasy, so I hurriedly grabbed the jacket I had carelessly thrown on the bed and put it on. I went to the door, knocked on the room next door, and called out to Joel, who appeared with a disgruntled look. "Did the plan work?" Joel asked, looking gloomy, though he didn't seem angry. I nodded and returned to the original room with Joel. Turning around, I formally thanked him, "Joel, thank you. If it weren't for you, I might have ended up in the news again today." Caden smiled, taking a step forward and extending his hand to Joel with genuine gratitude. "Thank you. If it weren't for you, Rosaline might have been tricked. I don't want to lose her."Joel glanced at Caden's hand but didn't shake it. Instead, he scoffed and crossed his arms, saying, "Don't think that just because you say thank you, everything is forgotten. While I may have gone along with this today, it doesn't mean I'll give up on Rosaline." The smile on my face immediately faded as I looked at Caden, confused. What was going on? Didn't I already make it clear to Joel?
