The Despised Luna's Comeback
Caden's POV: I curled and then relaxed my fingers as I stared at Joel. But I wasn't angry at all. I just wanted to see what he would say next. As expected, the young werewolf prince puffed out his chest and said to me, "Even though I nearly fell into a trap this time, I'm not giving up on Rosaline. I'm going to compete with you fairly!" I was at a loss for words. For the first time in my life, I found myself not feeling jealous of my "love rival". In fact, I was a bit speechless. He was just a child. Whatever, let him be. After all, Rosaline would never get together with Joel. I still had confidence in myself. Yura's POV: My morning sickness had been getting worse over the past few days. From occasional, it was now basically every day after meals. In just a few days, I had lost quite a bit of weight. At that moment, Rosaline called to check on me. "How are you feeling? Is the morning sickness still so bad?" After vomiting, I stepped out of the bathroom and said weakly, "I think I'm in the morning sickness phase. Everything I eat makes me throw up, and I always feel nauseous." I looked at my pale face in the mirror, feeling how worn out I looked without any makeup. Rosaline, feeling concerned, said, "How about I cook your favorite meal and bring it over? You need to make sure you're getting enough nutrients while you're pregnant." "Is your work finished? You can come over once you're done. I'm fine, Ryan will look after me," I said slowly, rinsing my mouth. I knew Rosaline and Caden were in the sweet period of their relationship right now, so I didn't want to interrupt them. "Has Ryan been looking after you?" Rosaline asked softly. "I haven't seen him lately, and Caden hasn't brought it up either."I nodded with a smile. "Yes, Ryan is amazing. He makes whatever I want to eat at home." I had to admit, that during my pregnancy, Ryan had been the ideal fiancé. He took such good care of me, that it felt like he'd go as far as picking stars from the sky for me. "Well, hearing that puts my mind at ease. As long as Ryan is treating you well, that's what matters," Rosaline said with a light laugh. Then, as if recalling something, she lowered her voice and asked, "How's your future mother-in-law been treating you? Has she been difficult?" I thought for a moment before replying, "It's been the same—nothing too good or too bad." With the baby on the way, Zera had been polite to me, mostly because of the grandchild. She did make things tough occasionally, but I didn't want Rosaline to worry. While we were chatting, a knock suddenly came at the door. "Yura, are you awake?" Zera's voice came from outside. I instinctively covered the receiver and said, "Rosaline, I have to go for now. Ryan's mom is here." Talk about timing! I hung up the phone, put on my slippers, and went to open the door. "Mrs. Lindsay, what's going on? Is there something wrong?" I said slowly. Zera looked at my face, then turned and took the chicken soup from the nanny. With a frown, she said, "I had the kitchen make this soup for you. I heard about your morning sickness lately. Have more to replenish your body, or the baby won't get enough nutrients." The rich aroma of the chicken soup hit my nose, but it felt greasy. I instinctively frowned, covered my mouth, and turned away, trying hard to fight the urge to throw up. "I had the kitchen stew this for hours. Everyone else thinks it smells fine. Why is it making you feel sick?" Zera looked at me and couldn't help but say, "Is your body really that fragile? There are plenty of pregnant women, and none of them act like this. Don't you know the baby needs nutrition?" As Zera's reprimands echoed in my ears, I silently turned away, fighting to hold back the nausea, my brow furrowed tightly. Slowly, I said, "Mrs. Lindsay ... I just ... can't handle these smells right now. It's not your fault, I appreciate the chicken soup." "Well, have some when you don't feel like vomiting. The baby's important," Zera said, frowning. "It is a top quality chicken. Don't waste it." "Okay, I'll drink it later," I said, taking the chicken soup and nodding. The smell of the soup hit me again, and I felt a wave of nausea. My hand trembled, and the soup spilled all over the floor. Seeing the soup spilled everywhere, Zera looked heartbroken. "You really ... Not only won't eat it, but now you're wasting it too?" Zera glared at me. "Ryan asked me to take care of you. I've done my part, and you're not even grateful." I quickly said, "Mrs. Lindsay, it wasn't intentional. My stomach's been really upset these past few days. I'll clean up the chicken soup on the carpet later."
