The Despised Luna's Comeback
Rosaline's POV: The whole lunch had been ruined because of Eleanor and Queenie. What was supposed to be a pleasant time was spoiled by them. After finishing lunch, I stood up and, feeling a bit down, said to my grandpa, "You stay here. Caden and I will head out first." My grandpa was only staying in the country for a few days this time. After the engagement ceremony, he would resume his world tour. So, I arranged for my grandfather to stay at the Eclipse Group's old mansion, which was also Richard's idea. "Okay." Grandpa nodded with a smile. After leaving the old mansion, I got into Caden's car. "Can you take me back to New Moon City? I'm feeling a bit tired and just want to rest for a while." "Are you okay? Is something wrong?" Caden's gaze was filled with concern. I smiled and replied, "I'm fine, just a little tired." "Okay." Caden nodded, driving me back to New Moon City before heading off to work. I was about to take a nap when I suddenly got a call from Naomi. I picked up the phone, confused. "Naomi, what's up?" "Rosaline, you need to come to the office right now." Naomi's voice sounded urgent. My heart skipped a beat. "What happened?" "That Prince Joel ... He's making quite a scene," Naomi said on the other end of the line. "There are roses everywhere at the company entrance, banners, and even an entire team of attendants, all making a big show of proposing to you. There are reporters everywhere. Jasper is trying to reason with him." "Ugh?" I groaned, rubbing my forehead in frustration. What was Joel up to? Didn't I make myself clear to him already? "Okay, I know. I'm coming to handle it now," I said coldly. When I arrived at the main entrance of Starplay Entertainment, it was just as Naomi had described—quite a scene. The company was surrounded by lush blue roses in beautiful patterns, with large letters in the center saying: "Rosaline, I love you!" Banners were hung on the surrounding buildings, each one featuring heartfelt confessions of love. This prince truly lived up to his title ... The bigger the scene, the more of a headache it gave me. A crowd of eager werewolf reporters surrounded Joel, scrambling to get interviews. "Prince Joel, could you tell us when you first met Ms. Sinclair? Was it love at first sight?" a werewolf reporter asked, holding the microphone out to him. "That's right," Joel nodded sincerely. "I met Ms. Sinclair at a banquet in Fostrau. It was love at first sight. Rosaline is my dream girl. I love her! I want to mark her as my destined mate!" "How romantic! But, Your Highness, are you aware that Ms. Sinclair is engaged to Mr. Holbrook? Their engagement party is next weekend. Do you have any thoughts on that?" the reporter pressed. "Oh, I know." Joel shrugged, still smiling. "It's just an engagement—no big deal. As long as she hasn't been marked, I have every right to pursue her." That was the first thing I heard when I arrived at Starplay Entertainment. Was Joel out of his mind? Didn't I make things clear to him? I was Caden's fiancée, and we were in love. What was Joel trying to pull now? "Ms. Sinclair has arrived!" a sharp-eyed reporter called out excitedly. In an instant, a crowd of reporters swarmed me, cameras flashing and microphones pointing right at me. "Ms. Sinclair, what's your connection to Prince Joel? He claims it was love at first sight—how do you feel about that? What's your take on this?" "Does Mr. Holbrook know that Prince Joel is pursuing you? Will this affect your engagement ceremony next weekend?" "Ms. Sinclair, are you considering breaking up with Mr. Holbrook to be with Prince Joel? Or are you leading them both on? There were rumors about you and Jasper before—are you involved with multiple men?" I frowned and said firmly, "Caden and I will be getting engaged as planned. Please stop with the baseless speculation. That's all." As soon as I finished, I brushed past the reporters and had the werewolf bodyguards block them off. "Rosaline, you're finally here for work!" Joel lit up the moment he saw me, his bright blue eyes filled with excitement and admiration. "I've got a special surprise for you—hope you like it," he said, like a magician revealing a trick, pulling out a bouquet of roses, and dropping to one knee. A surprise? More like a jump scare. "Come on, get up," I said, seeing that Joel wasn't planning to stand until I took the roses. I reached out to help him up. Once on his feet, he looked at me with affection. "Rosaline, is it the roses you don't like? Just tell me what you like. Whatever it is, I'll get it for you. Even if you want the stars, I'll find a way to pick it for you." I was so tempted to shift into wolf form and let Freya take a bite out of this outrageously shameless prince. After some thought, I took a deep breath and said, "Come with me."
