The Despised Luna's Comeback
Rosaline's POV: After discussing with Naomi's manager, I immediately accessed the security footage from the bar and parking lot that night. Every move Kelsey made was captured clearly. Naomi followed my advice and reported it to the werewolf police station. With a bit of pressure from my end behind the scenes, the werewolf officers quickly brought in Kelsey for questioning. "This has nothing to do with me. I just saw she was drunk and kindly offered to take her home. And that so-called witness you brought in beat me up pretty badly. The cut on my lip still hasn't healed. For all we know, the two of them are working together to extort me." As he spoke, Kelsey pointed to the injury on his lip, a smug look on his face. "See this? I'm hurt. I want a medical assessment, and I'm pressing charges against your witness for assault." I stood outside the interrogation room, frowning as I listened through the glass. This pervert really didn't know when to quit. I sneered and handed the surveillance footage to the werewolf officer. The moment the evidence was shown, Kelsey's confidence shattered. Panic crept into his voice as he snapped, "This is defamation! I want my lawyer, or you can call my father! Do you know who he is?!" "Officer, with both witness statements and solid evidence, his denials are pointless," Naomi's manager said calmly, facing the werewolf officers. "You should also look into the bartender from last night. I'm sure he can offer additional information." After that, everything went pretty smoothly. With solid evidence, Kelsey was officially detained. Of course, his clan quietly pulled some strings, and he was released after a brief detainment. But that was a story for another time. As soon as he was detained, I moved quickly with a PR strategy to bury the incident. Not a single word made it to the public. ... After we left the werewolf police station, Naomi sat quietly in the car, stealing cautious glances at me before finally saying, "Thank you, Rosaline." "Next time, let your manager know where you're going—every time. Got it?" I said calmly. This situation wasn't difficult for me to handle, so it didn't take much effort. What concerned me was that Naomi had such low vigilance. "I know I was wrong ... " Naomi murmured softly. "But why were you at the bar alone in the first place?" I turned to look at her. "I ... " Naomi said, and then quickly masked the emotion in her eyes. "I just wanted to have a little fun. I didn't think something like that would happen." I could pretty much guess what was going on, but seeing Naomi like that, I didn't press further. I glanced down at my phone and noticed a missed call from Caden. I was stunned. I'd been so caught up handling Naomi's situation all day, I didn't even know when Caden called. I had planned to call him back, but just as I picked up my phone, another call from the company came in. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I'd completely forgotten about Caden's call. That night, when I got home, I saw Caden sitting alone on the couch, calmly watching TV. "Cade, I'm back," I said lazily as I walked over. But unlike usual, he didn't pull me into his arms. He just sat there, still and silent. "Why didn't you pick up my call?" Caden turned to me, his expression cold. "Sorry, Caden. I forgot," I said, looping my arms around his, my tone soft and a little playful. He suddenly grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his lap. "Who were you with today? Don't tell me that so-called prince showed up again." I blinked at him, then draped my arms around his neck and said with a teasing smile, "His name is Joel." Sure enough, the moment I said his name, Caden's face grew even darker, and his grip on me tightened. "Caden, that hurts," I said with a soft whine, pouting in protest. He eased up a little, but his intense gaze never left my face. It wasn't often I saw Caden like this, and somehow, it only made me want to tease him even more. "What if ... I really did go see Prince Joel?" I asked with a teasing smile. Caden didn't respond, but the stormy look on his face said it all."Rosaline," he finally said, his voice low and cold as ice. I tilted my head playfully and grinned. "As if I'd do that! I spent the whole day at the company, then handled Naomi's situation. I saw you called, but got caught up with other things and just forgot." Seeing Caden's silence, I glanced at him and teased, "Mr. Holbrook, are you jealous?" "Yes, I am," Caden answered without hesitation, meeting my gaze. His answer surprised me for a moment. "I don't like you interacting with other werewolves, especially—" Before he could finish, I leaned down and planted a kiss on his lips. "Mr. Holbrook, I love you."
