The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 565 I Won't Let Him Get Away With It

"I didn't ignore your call on purpose. My phone ran out of battery and turned itself off." I sat on the edge of the bed, quietly taking in my manager's scolding. "Naomi, can you please be more mindful? You're a public figure. Everything you do is being watched by the media!" I quietly moved the phone away from my ear and sniffled, eager to end the call. "Got it, got it. I'll head back right away." "Where are you now? I'll pick you up," my manager said, the sound of a door opening and closing in the background—clearly getting ready to leave. "I'm at—" I started to answer, but stopped when I remembered I was at someone else's place. I quickly said, "No need! I can make it back on my own. I'll go straight to the company—no need to go out of your way." My manager immediately picked up on my tone and pressed, "Naomi, don't tell me you're seeing someone?" I froze for a second. I wished I were ... But the person I loved didn't feel the same way. "How could I be dating anyone? I'm heading back to the company now. Let's talk about everything that happened yesterday in person." I hung up and unplugged my phone from the charger. "Thank you so much, Mr. Foster," I said with a grateful smile, looking at Samuel. "You've already thanked me so many times," Samuel replied with a hint of exasperation, shaking his head. Then, in a steady voice, he added, "The fever's gone down. Just be mindful of your diet and get plenty of rest over the next three days." I looked up at Samuel and teased, "You do sound like a doctor—so annoyingly serious." Samuel chuckled at that. "Occupational habit." "Either way, I'm truly grateful," I said as I stood and gave him a deep, respectful bow. Samuel's POV: As Naomi bowed to me, I was briefly taken aback. I first became a fan by pure chance, but what surprised me most was how different she was in real life compared to the image on screen. "Do you have a pen and some paper?" Naomi looked up at me, her smile revealing two small dimples. I wasn't sure what she was up to, but I pulled a notebook from the shelf and handed it to her. She took it and began writing something. A moment later, she handed it to me. I glanced down and there it was: a quick sketch of me, signed by Naomi herself, with the word "Lifesaver" written boldly underneath. I glanced at Naomi, a bit surprised. She playfully stuck out her tongue and tilted her head. "Consider it a fan perk—my autograph and a hand-drawn sketch. Not bad, right? You're the first to get one." "I'll keep it safe," I said, closing the notebook with a smile on my lips. "I should get going," Naomi said, then paused. "And about everything that happened yesterday and today—I hope you can keep it between us." I nodded and said, "Let me drive you back. It's hard to catch a cab around here, and if the paparazzi spot you, it could be a problem." Naomi thought it over for a moment, and nodded in agreement. She followed me to the garage. Naomi's POV: Samuel was driving, while I sat quietly, watching the scenery blur past the window. A strange mix of emotions stirred up inside me. My fingers absentmindedly traced the edges of my phone case, until I finally slipped it off. This phone case was bought by Jasper. At the time, it looked like a couple set. Thinking about it now, that little fantasy of mine felt ridiculous. Lost in thought, I didn't even notice the car had come to a smooth stop. Snapping back to reality, I turned to Samuel with a smile. "Thanks. Sorry for the trouble." Samuel didn't say anything; he just shook his head and got out to open the car door for me. We exchanged a few more words before he drove off. I took a deep breath, about to head into the company building, when Rosaline suddenly appeared in front of me.I blinked in surprise. "Rosaline?" "Who was the guy that dropped you off just now? And your manager said you didn't come home at all last night?" Rosaline glanced toward the direction Samuel had driven off. Hearing that, my face fell as the events from last night came rushing back. I told her everything that had happened at the bar. "Kelsey? You mean that spoiled rich kid who's been pestering you?" Rosaline frowned. I nodded. Just thinking about last night still left me shaken. Rosaline patted my shoulder, saying firmly, "Naomi, you need to report this to the police right away. I'll check the surveillance footage. We can't let Kelsey get away with this." "The police ... " I hesitated. After all, I was a public figure, and considering Kelsey's background, things could get messy fast if this turned into a scandal. Rosaline noticed my hesitation, and her tone became serious. "Naomi, if we don't teach someone like him a lesson, he'll only keep crossing the line. Don't worry, I'll take care of this." Her eyes turned cold as she continued, "Anyone who dares mess with someone under my watch—I won't let him get away with it."
