The Despised Luna's Comeback
Heidi's POV: I was thrilled to see Caden awake, but at the same time, I noticed the hint of disappointment in his eyes. What was he disappointed about? Most likely, he was thinking about that Omega b*tch, Rosaline! The mere thought of Rosaline filled me with hatred. That Omega dared to set me up, making Caden think I had deliberately lied. Now, he was utterly disappointed in me. I had to find a way to fix this! Taking a deep breath, I composed myself and put on a sweet and obedient expression as if I had completely forgotten everything that had happened last night at the hotel. "Caden, you're awake," I said with a soft smile. I handed the bowl of soup to Leslie and then walked over to Caden. "I went to your office, but you weren't there. Yale told me you were here taking care of Mr. Richard, so I got worried that you weren't eating properly. That's why I brought nutritious meals for both you and Mr. Richard," I explained as I sat down on the couch beside him. One by one, I opened the lunchboxes, revealing dishes that looked and smelled delicious. It was proof of my skill and devotion. However, Caden only glanced at them indifferently before saying coldly, "No, thanks. Leslie, go to the hospital cafeteria and bring me a meal." His direct rejection made my heart clench. "Caden, I made this for you. Why would you still ask Leslie to get food from the cafeteria?" I bit my lip, looking hurt. His sharp gaze landed on me. "If you feel wronged, then don't come here anymore. No one needs you to take care of them," he said with a frown. "Caden, are you still mad at me?" I lowered my head and asked with a trembling voice. He was definitely still angry about what happened yesterday—about me accusing Rosaline and Jasper of getting a hotel room together. It was all a trap! Rosaline had set me up to frame me instead! I would never let that Omega b*tch get away with this! I was seething inside, but I couldn't let any of it show in front of Caden. Taking another deep breath, I forced myself to calm down. "Caden, I swear, I really saw Rosaline and Jasper together. There's video evidence! She must have realized I was there and—" My voice caught and my nose stung as tears welled up in my eyes. I let the tears fall, looking utterly pitiful, but Caden remained unmoved. His face was cold and impatient as he interrupted me, "I don't want to talk about yesterday anymore." Leslie quickly excused himself. "Uh, Mr. Caden, I'll go order your meal now." I continued crying while tightly gripping the fabric of my dress. I had practiced this delicate, heart-wrenching act countless times in front of a mirror. I was confident that any man who saw me like this would feel sorry for me. But Caden didn't. Even Richard, who had been watching me silently from his hospital bed, said nothing. The anger in my heart was boiling over. Caden ignoring me was one thing. But, how could this old man be so indifferent? I had taken the time to cook and bring these meals and he didn't even say a word in my favor! I swallowed my frustration and forced myself to remain composed as I quietly packed up the food containers. After tidying up, I looked at Caden, hesitating as if I wanted to say something. In the end, I turned my gaze to Richard instead. "Mr. Richard, I'll take my leave for now. Please take care of yourself. I'll come visit you again soon." With that, I turned and walked away. I deliberately slowed my pace, hoping that Caden would stop me. Yet, there was nothing even as I reached the door. A wave of despair crashed over me.It seemed I had no choice. I had to make a big move. If I didn't, that Omega b*tch would win for sure! Remembering the threat Rosaline made to me today, coupled with Caden's indifference, I simply couldn't accept it! Crash! Suddenly, my body swayed and I collapsed toward the floor. I barely managed to steady myself by gripping the doorframe, but I started coughing violently with my hand covering my mouth. The stench of blood filled the air. Moments later, I crumpled to the ground. A passing nurse saw me and let out a startled cry before rushing over. "Miss, are you okay?" At last, Caden came over, his voice tinged with concern. "Tessa, what's wrong?" A surge of joy filled my heart. I clutched his hand weakly, trying to speak, but another violent coughing fit interrupted me. When it finally subsided, I looked up at him and whispered, "Caden ... I don't feel well ... Am I dying?" "No! You won't die, Tessa!" Caden's handsome face tensed with worry. "I won't let anything happen to you." "Thank you ... Caden," I murmured. Before I could finish my sentence, my vision went dark, and I collapsed completely.
