The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 374 Can You Be Any More Vulgar?

His warm breath sent tingles down my skin, making me squirm. My face burned as I glared at Caden. "Who's your future Luna? We haven't even managed to get engaged yet!" Caden's handsome face darkened and he spoke in a low voice, "Are you hoping for another failed engagement?" Seeing his sudden shift in mood, I cleared my throat. "That's not what I meant. Stop overthinking things and just go home already!" Caden opened the car door for me and I got in. As soon as I settled into the passenger seat and reached for my seatbelt, he suddenly leaned in close. "What are you doing?" I looked at him warily. His gaze burned with intensity. "What do you think?" "How would I know?" I raised an eyebrow, though I had a pretty good idea. "I still remember someone telling me this morning at the hospital that certain things should be done in a more private setting," Caden murmured teasingly. His eyes swept over the car's interior before smirking. "I hear it's pretty exciting to do it in a car. Should we give it a try?" My face instantly turned scarlet. I had been thinking about kissing and this shameless man was already jumping straight to car sex! "Stop joking and start the car!" I shoved him away. Seeing me all flustered, Caden chuckled but didn't push further. Instead, he reached over and fastened my seatbelt for me. "Alright," he said with a hint of amusement. Caden drove me back to my temporary apartment. Since we were putting on an act, we couldn't be seen living together. "We're here." He pulled up and got out to open my door. "You should go. If someone sees us together, it'll ruin everything." I glanced around nervously. If Heidi saw us, all my efforts would be wasted. However, Caden lingered. He was unwilling to go home. He suddenly reached out and pulled me into his embrace. "What's wrong? Can't wait to get rid of me?""No, it's just that if Heidi or the others see us—" Before I could finish, he abruptly lowered his head and kissed me. This man! His injuries weren't even healed yet and all he could think about was taking advantage of me! Heat rushed to my face as I struggled to push him away, but he held me firmly in place. Finally, he pulled back and rested his forehead against mine. "Rosaline, I can't wait to have you," he said. Uhh ... This man's shamelessness knew no bounds! Could he be any more vulgar? My heart pounded wildly as I shoved him back into the car. "Alright, alright, just go already! If someone sees you, we're scr*wed!" Caden, looking mildly exasperated, finally drove off. I went inside, washed up, and lay down to rest. However, my mind kept replaying what I had seen earlier. Who was that little girl with the scar on her wrist? Was it Tessa? And why did Heidi have the same kind of scar? Could hers be fake? I hadn't gotten a clear look earlier, but my gut told me Heidi's scar didn't seem fake. I needed to find a way to take a closer look next time. I drifted off to sleep with these thoughts swirling in my head. In my dreams, I was being hunted again. I ran desperately, panting for breath in a dark forest. Behind me, a group of fierce-looking werewolves was closing in.Up ahead—was a cliff! I had nowhere left to run. The footsteps behind me grew louder and louder. Sweat dripped down my forehead as I sprinted toward the edge. My foot slipped and I fell. The terrifying sensation of weightlessness gripped me, drowning me in fear. "Ahhh!" I screamed, jolting awake. I switched on the light and looked around. It was just another nightmare. I shakily rubbed my eyes and wondered why I was having this dream again. ... Caden's POV: I drove straight back to the hospital. When I arrived at Grandpa's room, he was still asleep with Leslie keeping watch beside him. "Mr. Caden, what brings you here? Aren't you heading home to rest?" Leslie stood up respectfully when he saw me. "I wanted to spend some time with Grandpa," I said casually. Now that he was finally awake and his health was steadily improving, I felt both relieved and guilty. I had been so consumed by work that I had neglected his well-being. Now that he was recovering, I was determined to make it up to him. They were all my family, but my mother and Queenie ... Just thinking about them made my expression darken. Those two women had been so blinded by their own selfish desires that they didn't hesitate to poison Grandpa, all to frame Rosaline and force her away. How could they be so heartless? Without a word, I walked over to the couch and lay down. Leslie, knowing better than to ask questions, quietly placed a blanket over me. I must have been exhausted because I didn't wake up until the next afternoon.I stirred at the sound of a young woman's voice. Was it Rosaline? I blinked awake, only to see Heidi sitting by Grandpa's bed. "Mr. Richard, I specially prepared this nutritious meal for you. Please give it a try," she said.
