The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 196 Is There Something You're Not Telling Him?

I spent a sleepless night tossing and turning. The next morning, I arrived at Eclipse Group. Standing before the towering building, I found myself momentarily distracted. As soon as I stepped through the entrance, I could feel the eyes of the employees on me. Whispers swirled around me, their tone filled with disdain and mockery. "Isn't that Rosaline? How shameless is she to show up at work?" "If it weren't for her, our Alpha wouldn't be lying in the hospital." "Rosaline doesn't know her face. A man like Mr. Caden—handsome, tall, and talented—who else could she find? And she publicly called off the engagement." "You don't know the whole story. Do you think Mr. Caden really liked this Omega? He had dumped her, and she's just acting high and mighty." "That makes sense. I bet she's unwilling to let go. She's probably here to bother Mr. Caden again." The harsh words echoed in my ears, but I paid them no mind. With a calm, composed expression, I ignored the voices and headed straight for Yale's office. "Ms. Sinclair," Yale greeted me with surprise when he saw me. I smiled faintly, offering him a polite greeting, "Beta, hello." "Ms. Sinclair, are you here to see Mr. Caden? He should be in his office right now." Yale's polite demeanor was tinged with confusion. After all, we had been close enough to almost get engaged, but I had suddenly called it off. No one, not even Yale, could understand what had happened, especially since he was Caden's second-in-command. "I'm here to see you." I took a few steps forward, my expression calm. "Me?" Yale's tone reflected his surprise. I nodded. "Beta, I need a favor." "You don't have to be so formal, Ms. Sinclair. If there's anything I can help with, just let me know." He smiled, his politeness unwavering."Can you help me get into the hospital to see Mr. Richard?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, tinged with a hint of hope. "Well ... " Yale hesitated, clearly uncomfortable. "Actually, Alpha has been in a coma, lying in his hospital bed. Even if you went to see him, it might not mean much." Seeing the disappointment on my face, Yale quickly added, "How about you wait till we find Dr. Watts to treat Alpha? Once he wakes up, I'll arrange for you to see him." "Dr. Watts?" I asked, confused. Yale nodded. "According to Dr. Williamson from cardiology, Dr. Watts is a renowned Shaman healer. He's the only one who can save Alpha. The problem is, Dr. Watts has been missing for 20 years. Mr. Caden has sent people looking for him, but there's been no word yet." "I see," I murmured, thinking deeply. If I wasn't mistaken, Dr. Watts was probably the Hughie who had taught me medicine when I was a child. Bert, being an expert in cardiology, wouldn't recommend Hughie unless he truly believed he could help. Bringing him here would surely help Richard. My thoughts cleared, and I felt a slight sense of relief. "Thank you. I'll leave now." With that, I turned to leave. "Ms. Sinclair," Yale's voice called after me as I was about to exit. I paused and turned back. "Yes?" "There's something I'm not sure if I should say," Yale began, clearly unsure. I smiled softly. "If there's something on your mind, just say it." "Ms. Sinclair, please don't think I'm meddling. When you called off the engagement, Mr. Caden was really hurt. Is there something you're not telling him?" Yale's voice was filled with concern. Something I'm not telling him? I froze for a moment. Seeing my silence, Yale pressed on, "If there's something you're holding back, maybe you should talk to Mr. Caden. You two love each other, right? Why let things go so far? There's got to be a way to resolve this." Love each other?A bitter smile tugged at my lips. "Beta, you must know that Tessa has returned, right?" "Is it just because of Tessa? I can't help but feel that Mr. Caden ... " Before he could finish, I cut him off, "Enough. I don't want to discuss this anymore. Thanks for your concern." With those words, I turned and walked away. Back at my desk in the secretariat, I ignored the curious stares of my colleagues and quickly typed up my resignation letter. Holding the letter in my hand, I made my way to Caden's office. Just thinking about seeing him again made my heart race with unease. After taking a few deep breaths, I knocked on the door. "Come in!" Caden's low, cold voice echoed from inside.
