Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 74 Adrian Caught Cheating

The next day, Adrian went to take his exam. I stayed in my room preparing medication for that elder from Tempest. I took a vial of pink powder and poured it into water to dissolve. Then I ground up some sandalwood into powder and added that as well. After mixing everything together, I collected the liquid into a bottle and sealed it with a cork. Knowing how forgetful that old man could be, I even stuck a label on the bottle just in case. I had just finished these preparations and hadn’t made it downstairs yet when I heard Adam shout from below. I walked down to ask what happened, and he frowned as he said, “Adrian was reported for cheating. He’s in the principal’s office right now. The school says they’re taking it seriously—they’re talking about expelling him!” Cheating? Adrian? That rebellious kid? He’d never cheat. “Where is Adrian now?” I asked. Adam’s frown was so tight it could kill a fly. “At school. The teachers called the house. But I’ve got a launch ceremony today that I can’t reschedule. If I cancel now, it’ll cause a huge mess.” He looked at me with some hesitation. “Raelynn, could you maybe… go check on Adrian? See what’s really going on?” “Me?” I hadn’t expected Adam to make such a request. “Yeah, I heard you were the one who helped Adrian review his material. If there’s been some misunderstanding, maybe you can help clear it up.” Adam’s phone suddenly rang with a priority alert. He glanced at the screen and started heading out. “Raelynn, I’m counting on you. I’ll come find you guys as soon as I’m done here.” I watched him walk away, speechless. Why did I feel like I was being treated like everyone’s nanny now? Even Adam’s problems at school were being dumped on me?I stood there torn for a few seconds. But when I thought about what Adrian might be going through, I decided to go. When I arrived at the principal’s office, I heard Adrian’s angry voice from inside. “I already said it wasn’t my cheat sheet! How many times do I have to repeat myself?” Hearing that confirmed my suspicion—Adrian had probably been framed. “Adrian, is that how you speak to your principal?” the principal thundered, slamming his hand on the desk. Adrian scoffed dismissively. “I said it wasn’t mine, and that’s the truth. Ask me a hundred times, it’s still not going to change.” Another voice joined in. “Adrian, I’m your advisor, and let me remind you—even though you’re the prince of Eclipse Pack, your first identity here is as a student. No matter how powerful your family is, it won’t protect you from this.” The words were sharp and condescending. I couldn’t listen any longer—I pushed the door open and walked in. “Hello, Principal. I heard about the accusation against Adrian and came to understand what happened.” My sudden appearance stunned all three people in the room. Adrian looked surprised. “Raelynn-jie? What are you doing here?” The principal and advisor were both clearly shocked too. From their expressions, I could tell they’d recognized me as a very high-profile public figure. The principal quickly put on a smile. “Ms. Raelynn, what brings you here? Oh, it’s about Adrian, right? He’s always been a bit hot-headed. It’s good you’re here—you can ask him directly.” I curled my lips into a cold smile. “Are you sure Adrian is definitely the one who cheated?” The advisor immediately answered, “Of course. The cheat sheet was found on Adrian’s desk. The handwriting matches his exactly. More importantly, Adrian’s own friend David reported him. So this case is pretty much airtight.” That didn’t sit right with me. “He reported him personally? Can I meet this person?” The advisor quickly went out and soon returned with David. David was about the same age as Adrian—a teenage werewolf. When he walked in and saw all the people in the room, he immediately put on a pitiful act. “Teachers, Principal, what’s wrong? Did I do something wrong?” “Don’t worry too much, David,” the advisor said, giving him a reassuring look. “Just tell us everything that happened this afternoon with Adrian’s cheating.” David swallowed nervously. “Here’s what happened. This afternoon I thought Adrian was acting strange, so I kept an eye on him. I didn’t expect to see him writing out a cheat sheet. I felt really conflicted inside… but as his good friend, I thought I should help him break this bad habit. Also, for the sake of fairness in the exam, I took the cheat sheet from his desk and handed it in to the teacher.” When Adrian heard that, he immediately shouted, “David! We’ve been friends for so long—this is how you stab me in the back?” “I didn’t set you up… Adrian, just admit it. Cheating really isn’t right.” Seeing Adrian’s furious expression, David shrank back in fear.
