Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
I really didn’t expect that one wine tasting would lead me to someone who knew my grandfather. I thought it would take a long time to smooth things over, but it turned out the matter was resolved so easily. Now that everything was settled, the crisis at Bluewater Corporation had been averted—and we’d gained a powerful new ally. I had to admit, the Moon Goddess truly was watching over me. But even in my joy, Aiden’s cold expression kept surfacing in my mind. I stood on the street, an inexplicable sense of emptiness washing over me. Logically, now that everything here was handled, I should head back to Eclipse Pack and get back to work. But the moment I thought about what Aiden had said to me that day, any desire to return completely disappeared. Aiden… he was probably off somewhere rekindling things with his first love, right? Just the two of them, whispering sweet nothings in each other’s ears? If I went back now, I’d just be a buzzkill. Ruining their romantic mood. As I stood there hesitating, my phone suddenly rang. “Raelynn, it’s Adrian. Where have you been these past few days? Why aren’t you back yet?” I paused, just about to explain, when I suddenly heard Aiden’s familiar voice from the other end. “Adrian, why aren’t you reviewing? The exam’s in two days—did you forget?” Adrian replied pitifully, “I know, I know, but I wanted to ask Raelynn for help! One of her majors back in college was marketing—she’ll definitely be able to tutor me.” “If you don’t study regularly and wait until the last minute to find a lifeline, then you deserve to fail.” Right after Aiden finished speaking, Adrian turned back to me, “Raelynn, when are you coming back? I seriously can’t do this review stuff on my own. I’ve been spending the whole semester racing and barely understood any of the lectures.” Originally, when I heard Aiden’s voice, I was ready to hang up.But Adrian’s helpless, pleading tone made me hesitate. I couldn’t bring myself to turn him down. “Alright, I’ll come back tomorrow morning.” I thought it over and agreed. “Great, thank you, Raelynn!” I gave a soft “mm” and hung up. … The next morning, I rushed back to the Eclipse Pack villa. Adrian wasn’t up yet. Aiden was the only one in the dining room, having breakfast. “So you do remember how to come back?” Aiden spoke lazily between bites, but his tone was still as cold and sarcastic as ever. His words instantly lit a fire in me. This prince—he really was impossible! “What I do has nothing to do with Mr. Aiden. Maybe focus on your own business instead.” I snapped back coldly. Aiden took a napkin and dabbed at his mouth, then said, “I’m only taking care of you because the Alpha told me to. It’s not like I want to be your babysitter every day.” “If you don’t want to, then stop meddling.” At that moment, Adrian came out of his room, rubbing his eyes. He looked at the two of us, confused. “What’s going on? Why do you both look like you’re about to fight first thing in the morning?” “It’s nothing. Adrian, hurry up and eat. I’ll come to your room later to help you study,” I said, shooting Aiden another glare. Adrian nodded, and I rolled my eyes at Aiden again before heading upstairs to my room. After Adrian finished his breakfast, he came to get me, and I followed him to his room. There was a big study desk in the room, covered neatly with stacks of books. Adrian pointed at them and said helplessly, “Raelynn, I’ve barely studied any of this over the past six months. Do you really think I can finish reviewing it all?”I glanced at the stack—it was over half a meter tall—and couldn’t help but laugh. “Of course not.” Adrian let out a cry of despair, finally realizing how serious it was. “Then what do I do? Am I really going to fail?” I sighed and rubbed my forehead. “You’re not going to fail. Not with me here. But getting a perfect score is probably out of the question.” Adrian jumped. “Perfect score? Raelynn, don’t joke like that. If I even pass with a sixty, I’ll be thanking the Moon Goddess for her mercy.” “Quit goofing around and get to reviewing,” I said, pulling the top book from the stack and flipping it open. Adrian walked over, testing the waters. “I won’t fail, right? You’re not lying?” “As long as you use your time wisely, you won’t.” I started underlining the key points in the textbook. These review materials were nothing to me. As a top student, I knew them like the back of my hand. I was marking the important points with such ease, it felt like I was writing the exam myself. “Raelynn, this…” Adrian looked amazed. “My teachers usually highlight whole pages at a time. How come you only mark one line every few pages? And this book is so thick—how did you finish it in just a few minutes?” I looked up at him and said, “Trust me. These are the most common, high-frequency questions. As long as you’re willing to memorize them, scoring in the 80s shouldn’t be a problem.” Adrian nodded, still a little unsure. “Thanks, Raelynn-jie. I get it now.” “For the true/false questions, just assume the tricky ones are wrong. This is just a final exam—they won’t make it too hard.” These were all hard-earned tips. Solid gold. “Raelynn, did you always cram like this before your exams too?” Adrian looked at me curiously. I rolled my eyes and tapped his head with the book. “Of course not. If I studied like you do, forget being top of my major—I wouldn’t even make the top twenty in the whole grade.” “Okay, okay. Next semester I’ll put studying first. I swear I won’t slack off again.” I nodded, satisfied. “Glad you understand.”
