Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 72 An Old Connection

Raelynn’s POV I let out a cold laugh. “Even if I did go to NK Corporation, that would still be my choice. Mr. Aiden, there's no need for you to get all flustered and furious about it, is there?” “Fine. Then go.” Aiden ended the call right after saying that. I stared at my phone. Mr. Aiden really was full of himself. I had actually planned to explain that I was returning to Bluewater Corporation on business. But if he was so eager to jump to conclusions, then let him. He clearly never cared about me in the first place—always quick to criticize, always suspicious. I'm not about to spoil him. Back at headquarters, Jackson was pacing nervously back and forth. When he saw me walk in, he rushed over immediately. “What’s going on? What happened?” I asked him. Jackson quickly said, “There’s been a problem with our partnership with Destiny Corp overseas. But the strange thing is, they specifically asked to see you.” I frowned. “Me?” “Yeah. They specifically asked to meet the president of Bluewater Corporation and insisted on a wine tasting. They said that if you don’t agree, they’ll terminate the deal, and they don’t care how much they have to pay in penalties.” Jackson let out a sigh. “This is a huge deal. If they back out, sure, they’ll owe us a massive compensation fee, but we’ll also lose a ton of money. And with our recent investments, Bluewater’s cash flow is tight. It could hit us pretty hard.” Hearing that, I immediately understood. They were obviously trying to set Bluewater up. So of course, I had to go meet them. “Raelynn, I’m guessing this CEO knows wine inside and out. Are you sure…?” I smiled slightly. “Have I ever embarrassed myself?”The moment I said that, the previously discouraged Jackson’s eyes lit up. “That’s our Raelynn! There’s nothing in this world you can’t handle.” I gave a small smile and said nothing more. The CEO of Destiny Corp had arranged to meet on Sunday afternoon, at an upscale vineyard. There weren’t many people at the estate. When I arrived, there were just a few scattered guests. I stood at the door of the private room and knocked. “Come in.” A deep, booming voice called from inside. I pushed the door open and stepped in. Seated inside was an upright, vigorous-looking older werewolf. He looked incredibly sharp. It was Moses, the CEO of Destiny Corp. He was also the Alpha of the Lightning Pack. Moses was swirling a glass of wine and took a sip as I entered. When he looked up and saw me, he smiled warmly. “So you’re the president of Bluewater Corporation. As expected—every move you make carries such elegance.” I smiled back. “And Mr. Moses, you hardly look like someone in his sixties. You look far younger.” “Hahahahaha!” Moses burst into hearty laughter. “Come, since this is a wine tasting, let’s see what kind of insight you have.” Someone beside him brought me a glass of red wine. I picked it up, gave it a sniff, and took a small sip. Without hesitation, I said, “Since medieval times, red wine has been regarded as the source of joy and a symbol of happiness. Today, the best reds still come from Fairland, especially the Bordeaux and Burgundy regions. Judging from the color, the rich aroma, and the viscosity on the glass, I’d say this is from the Neuik Estate in Bordeaux.” Moses chuckled and nodded in admiration. “Very good. You’ve got a solid grasp of the basics. Who taught you about wine?” The moment he asked, my thoughts drifted far away. “My father taught me when I was very young. He learned to taste wine from my grandfather, who was skilled in wine-making himself. He had a lot of friends who shared his passion—just like you.” Moses’s interest was instantly piqued. “What’s your grandfather’s name?”“Felix.” Moses froze when he heard that name. Curious, I looked at him and saw his expression soften, his eyes misting with emotion. “So you’re Felix’s granddaughter,” he said gently. “You… Could it be?” I suddenly had a hunch. “Felix and I were as close as brothers!” Moses stood up and grabbed my hand with emotion. “And now to see his granddaughter—so accomplished, the president of Bluewater Corporation at such a young age—he can rest easy now, wherever he is.” “Then, Mr. Moses, about the deal…” I smiled slightly, testing the waters. Before I could even finish, Moses cut me off. “Forget this deal—every deal going forward, I’ll work with Bluewater Corporation!” His assistant’s eyes widened in shock. “Alpha, you can’t just say that… Some partnerships should still be based on the other party’s capabilities!” Moses glared. “What? You doubt Raelynn’s abilities? Or are you questioning my judgment?” The assistant shrank back in fear, dropping to his knees, too afraid to say another word. I smiled faintly. “Thank you, Mr. Moses.” “No need to thank me. You should come visit the Lightning Pack more often. You really do carry your grandfather’s spirit…” Moses kept me a while longer, sharing stories and memories, reluctant to let me go. By the time I finally left, the sky was already dark.
