Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Raelyn's POV When I got home, the living room was buzzing with energy. All four of Aiden's brothers from the Eclipse Pack were there, along with Regina. Sitting on the couch was a woman around my age, dressed in a sleek tailored dress that screamed wealth and class. She looked like the typical heiress. "Aiden's back? Come sit, Taylor just landed today. She came straight here from the airport," Regina said as she got up to introduce her. I instantly knew who she was. Taylor Blunt, heiress of the Midnight Pack. Word was she'd been chasing after Aiden for years, but that ice block never seemed to return her interest. Taylor stood up with a charming smile to greet Aiden. He replied with a curt nod, barely looking at her. Her smile faltered a little, but she quickly recovered and turned her attention to me. "You must be Raelyn, right? Hi, I'm Taylor. I grew up with Aiden and the guys;we're basically family. I hope we can be friends! If you ever feel bored in Varken, you can come find me." Her voice was sweet, but the jealousy in her eyes was impossible to miss. I gave her a cool response. "Sure." So she liked Aiden, and I was here to get engaged to one of the brothers. That made us romantic rivals, didn't it? Robin came back around then, and the house got even livelier. From the sound of it, the Midnight Pack and Eclipse Pack had been close for generations. While the wolves chatted happily, I lounged on the side, half-listening and mostly just waiting for dinner. Then Regina said, "Oh, Taylor, I went shopping last week because I knew you were coming back. I picked up a few things—let me go grab them." She headed upstairs, but when she came down, her expression was sour. "Robin, where's that new set of jewelry I bought? The one in my closet?" "How would I know?" Robin shot back. Regina looked at all five of her sons. "Did any of you take it?" They each shook their heads. "That's strange. Did it fly away on its own?"Taylor spoke up, cautious but deliberate. "You don't think… someone took it?" "If anyone here had the nerve to steal from me, this is your last chance to come clean. Leave the Eclipse Pack now, or end up in jail." Regina's sudden fury sent shivers through the staff and housekeepers standing nearby. When no one admitted anything, she ordered, "Search every room—one by one." I was scrolling through my phone when she said that. Honestly, I perked up a bit. I had nothing better to do, and a little drama never hurt. An hour later, the butler and a few wolf guards had already searched the staff's rooms but found nothing. Tom hesitantly said, "Luna, we haven't checked Ms. Beck's room yet." Right then, one of the maids stepped forward. "Luna, yesterday when we were talking about the broken security cameras, Ms. Beck happened to walk by. Later in the afternoon, I saw her come out of your and Mr. Robin's room." I was speechless. Regina's face darkened instantly. "Well, well, Raelyn! No wonder you turned down Robin's credit card yesterday—pretending to be noble, all while sneaking behind our backs to do something this low. Butler, search her room now!" Robin immediately stepped forward. "That's nonsense. Rae isn't that kind of person." "Why not? She's a lowly Omega from some tiny backwater town—what isn't she capable of? She was the only one home yesterday afternoon. Looks pretty suspicious to me!" I responded calmly. "It's fine, Mr. Robin. Let them search." From the moment this started, I knew it was a setup. And the mastermind wouldn't stay hidden for long. The butler took the staff and went to search my room. I looked at the maid who had accused me and asked coolly, "What's your name?" I have never even been inside their room. Why would she lie like that?
