Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Aiden's POV After finishing the afternoon meeting, I asked my Beta where Raelyn was, only to learn she was still at the security booth. I frowned slightly. This woman said this morning I am the one she likes the most? Yet now she came to the company and spent the whole day hanging out in the guardhouse. What kind of game is she playing? I sat at my desk and stayed silent for a couple of seconds before speaking. "Look into Thomas's background. And find out what his relationship with Raelyn is." "Yes, Mr. Aiden." Just as my Beta turned around to leave, I gave another order. "Bring Raelyn up here." Raelyn's POV "Rae, I've met all five of the Salvatore boys. If you ask me, the most impressive one is Aiden. Over the years, he's landed major projects and proven to be stable and outstanding. You should consider him first." I nearly spit out my water hearing that. I was sipping tea inside Thomas's booth when he hit me with that line. "No way, Thomas. What's so great about a walking iceberg like him?" Thomas looked at me and sighed. "Your father passed away early. All of us old folks from Shadow Pack just want to see you settle down sooner rather than later." I didn't respond. I just stayed quiet. In my eyes, Aiden was cold as stone. Everything I said this morning was just to piss him off. Just then, a middle-aged man approached the booth. Thomas immediately stood up and greeted him respectfully. "Mr. Corlys, good afternoon." Of course I knew who he was–Aiden's Beta. I gave him a polite nod. Corlys glanced at Thomas and then said to me, "Ms. Beck, Mr. Aiden wants to see you." I waved goodbye to Thomas and followed the assistant up to Aiden's office. He was working in front of his computer, his tall figure dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, completely focused—he looked sharp. Once the assistant left, I lazily asked, "What is it?" "You spent the whole day in the guardhouse. If the Alpha finds out, it won't look good for you." Aiden looked up at me.I rolled my eyes internally. What kind of lame excuse is that? "Fine, but since you're the one who told me to come up, don't blame me if I get on your nerves." Aiden's POV I gestured for Raelyn to sit wherever, then got back to work. About ten minutes later, her voice suddenly rang out from the couch, raging at her teammates. "You're slower than food delivery!" "Use your hands, not your feet!" "You're basically a minion that respawns!" Her yelling pulled me out of my focus. I looked over at her. At that moment, the other player started shouting back, dropping curses with every sentence. I frowned. This girl was clearly here just to torture me. And I was obviously bored out of my mind to have brought her into my office in the first place. Isn't she the one who said I am her favorite? Why does everything she does feel like she's trying to piss me off? Isn't she supposed to hate Adrian the most?"Raelyn, I'm getting off work. Quit playing," I said, exasperated. "Hold on, this round isn't over." So I waited another half hour before she finally finished her match. She looked up and said, "Alright, let's go." As we walked out of the office, my Beta came down the hallway. I turned to Raelyn. "Go wait for me in the garage." She looked at me, a little confused, but nodded and left. I walked back into the office with my Beta, who started reporting his findings. "Mr. Aiden, Thomas is definitely not your average guy. He owns multiple properties and office buildings in downtown Varken." I narrowed my eyes. So Thomas is basically a multimillionaire landlord who came to Eclipse Pack to work security just for fun? "As for his connection to Ms. Beck, I haven't found anything concrete yet," the Beta added. I paused in thought. How does Raelyn even meet someone like him in Varken? And then there was Jackson last night… This Omega isn't as simple as she seems. But whatever. It doesn't matter what kind of person she is, as long as I know Thomas doesn't mean any harm.
