Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
I turned my head toward Aiden in disbelief. The partner for this deal… was Randall? Aiden explained casually, “The partner is NK Corporation. I only found out an hour ago that he's the CEO.” Randall chuckled. “Clearly, fate keeps bringing us together.” The three of us sat down, and Aiden started discussing the partnership with Randall. “I can sell you this land, but NK Corporation will have to give Eclipse Pack ten percent of the profits.” A sharp gleam flashed in Randall’s eyes. “Mr. Aiden, you really don’t pull any punches. Ten percent is too steep. How about five?” Aiden wasn’t budging. His tone was firm. “Ten percent is the lowest I’m willing to go. If Mr. Randall won’t agree, I’ll find someone else to partner with.” “Is Mr. Aiden threatening me?” Though both men wore polite smiles, their words were dripping with tension and veiled hostility. Aiden let out a small laugh. “Of course not. We’re all businessmen here. Looking out for our own interests isn’t unreasonable, is it?” Randall suddenly stopped responding and turned to smile at me instead. “But if it’s for Ms. Raelynn’s sake, then I suppose ten percent doesn’t sound too bad.” Aiden immediately frowned. “Mr. Randall, don’t do it for me. You two can sort it out yourselves.” The pressure in the room was palpable, and I wanted no part of their testosterone-fueled battle. “Ms. Raelynn, I truly admire you. NK Corporation rarely offers concessions. This is my first time.” Aiden’s voice turned icy. “Mr. Randall, you’re quite the smooth talker. But Raelynn is Eclipse Pack’s fiancée. Don’t you think what you’re doing is a little unethical?” Randall laughed heartily. “Ms. Raelynn is so exceptional—what man wouldn’t be moved by her? I’m just a regular guy. If Mr. Aiden’s upset, he should say so directly instead of acting all paranoid.”Aiden raised an eyebrow, his tone laced with sarcasm. “Of course I’m not upset. It’s not like Raelynn falls for just anyone.” I groaned internally. Why did he have to drag me into his bragging? Randall’s smile faded. His expression turned stiff. “Mr. Aiden, there’s no need to belittle others like that. Fine. Today’s deal—I’ll agree to your unreasonable terms for Ms. Raelynn’s sake. Consider it a favor to her.” “She doesn’t need anyone’s favors.” Randall stood up. “If Mr. Aiden isn’t interested in working with NK Corporation, then let’s put this partnership on hold. Come back when you’re ready to negotiate in good faith.” With that, he walked out of the private room. I sighed and nudged Aiden’s arm. “What was that about? Why were you so rude the whole time? You’re here to make a deal, not get into a pissing contest!” Aiden stared at me for a long moment before finally growling, “Are you stupid?” I froze. “Why are you insulting me?” Aiden shook his head without explaining and walked out. I didn’t bother chasing after him. Instead, I wandered alone into the hotel’s garden for a walk. Once I found a quiet, secluded spot, I pulled out my phone and dialed Zane’s number. “Who is this?” Zane’s voice was weak and tired. “Zane, know who this is?” I asked coldly. “Raelynn. You too? Here to gloat?” “You sent someone to rape me. Did you really think I’d let you off that easy?” I snapped. Zane paused for a second, then asked, “Rape? Who the hell did that? Don’t pin something on me!” I let out a cold laugh. “You know exactly what you did.” Zane burst out laughing maniacally. “Raelynn, did you get framed and now you’re throwing the blame on me? Come on, Raelynn. You have so many enemies. If I were you, I’d just kill myself and end the misery.” “I only burned your company to the ground. That same night, someone set fire to my house—we nearly burned alive, all five of us! And if that wasn’t enough, the next day Eclipse Corporation sued me and froze all my assets. I’m being forced to pay damages for quitting. You think I’d still have the money to hire someone for revenge?” I listened, suddenly feeling something wasn’t adding up. “You’re saying it really wasn’t you?” “How could it be me? You guys ruined me. My house is gone, I’ve got no job, and I can’t even afford a decent meal. Where the hell would I get the cash to hire a hitman?” I hung up, a wave of confusion washing over me. The way Zane said it… it didn’t sound like he was lying. Maybe he really wasn’t behind it. So then who used Zane as a pawn? Someone who could act under Zane’s name and also held a grudge against me… Suddenly, a name popped into my mind.
