Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
I immediately returned to the hotel. Standing in front of Aiden’s room, I knocked on the door. “Aiden, I have something I want to talk to you about.” Before I could finish, Aiden cut me off with a cold voice. “I’m busy right now. No time.” His tone wasn’t pleasant at all. I found it odd, but since he was being that cold, I didn’t push it. It wasn’t something urgent anyway. I turned to leave, but then I heard Aiden’s voice inside taking a phone call. I swear to the Moon Goddess, I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop—but my Alpha hearing was just too sharp. Even with the door closed, Andrix’s voice on the other end of the line came through clearly. “Aiden, Geraldine’s back.” Aiden immediately asked, his voice filled with urgency, “Where is she? Tell me.” At that moment, I really wanted to cut my own ears off. Geraldine. His first love—the one he’d been pining for all these years—had come back. Looks like Andrix was right. Aiden really couldn’t let her go. “She’s not staying long. Her flight back to Murica is tomorrow morning.” Aiden gave a quiet “mm,” then said, “I’ll head back in a bit.” As he spoke, the door suddenly swung open. I didn’t have time to react, and we bumped into each other face to face. Aiden froze. “You...?” “What about the deal? Are we still negotiating?” I took a deep breath and forced a smile as I asked. Aiden stared at me, his gaze growing deeper. “Raelynn, cancel the deal.” “Working with NK Corporation brings huge profits to Eclipse Pack. You’re really going to walk away?” My voice was calm, but my heart twisted a little. This wasn’t the Aiden I knew. He was always someone who prioritized the company’s interests above all else. “I’ve got something urgent to deal with. Just cancel it.” “Urgent? You mean you’re going to see her, right? Aiden, I can handle this deal on my own. Go wherever you want.” My voice turned cold. Aiden frowned. “It’s not what you think.” “Whatever. That’s your business.” With that, I turned and left without looking back. Behind me, Aiden stayed frozen in place. He didn’t come after me or try to explain. Perfect. Just perfect. Back in my room, the more I thought about it, the angrier I got. Right then, Jackson called. I grabbed my phone and answered it sharply, “Talk. What is it?” Jackson paused for a second, then asked, “Raelynn, what’s wrong?” I rubbed my temples. “Just say what you need. I’m fine.” “Raelynn, there’s been some trouble with Bluewater Corporation. I think you should come back and take a look.” Jackson’s voice carried rare seriousness. “Fine. I’ll head back soon.” I agreed. After hanging up, I stood there for a while. I hated leaving things half done. I’d come all this way, and the negotiations weren’t even over yet. So I decided to find Randall and try once more. When I went downstairs, I found him sipping tea in the lobby. “Ms. Raelynn, I knew you’d come looking for me.” Randall looked at me like he’d been expecting it. “What makes you say that?” I asked curiously. “Ms. Raelynn is a smart woman. Naturally, you know that partnering with NK Corporation would bring tremendous profits.” There was a smile on his face, but for some reason, the way he looked at me made me uncomfortable. Where did he get this smug confidence, like he had me all figured out? I lifted my lips in a smile. “So, Mr. Randall, what’s your take on partnering with Eclipse Pack?” Randall poured me a cup of tea and sighed. “Mr. Aiden’s unwillingness to work with NK Corporation was quite disheartening… but if Ms. Raelynn can offer something I’m interested in, NK Corporation might reconsider.” He looked directly at me, eyes sharp with intent. I nodded. “Eclipse Pack’s growth speaks for itself. I’m sure you understand that a partnership would be mutually beneficial.” But my words didn’t move Randall at all. He just kept smiling like before. “I think Ms. Raelynn should consider something else.” I frowned slightly. “I’m not quite following, Mr. Randall. Why don’t you be direct?” Randall’s eyes glimmered with a very clear expectation. “I think Ms. Raelynn herself is a very valuable asset.” I mentally rolled my eyes but kept my tone neutral. “I don’t understand. What do you mean by that?” Randall suddenly burst out laughing. “No need to be so nervous, Ms. Raelynn. I do admire you, yes, but I’m not some lowlife looking to take advantage of others. What I admire is your capability. I’d like to invite you to join NK Corporation. I’d definitely offer you an executive position.” As if worried I might decline, he made the offer even more tempting. “I’m sure Ms. Raelynn knows NK Corporation’s strength. Storme Pack could rival Eclipse Pack in the near future. And if NK Corporation partners with Eclipse Corporation, no matter where you work, you’ll benefit from both sides. So it doesn’t really matter.”
