Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 196 Settling the Score

Over the next few days, I stayed hidden in a small side room inside Aiden’s office, waiting for things to escalate. Sure enough, on the third day after I quit, the perfume line Geraldine was in charge of ran into trouble. The design was stylish and unique, but due to issues with the factory, the product quality was a disaster. The partners demanded to terminate the contract immediately and wanted Eclipse Corporation to pay ten billion in damages. After looking into it, Aiden discovered the factory was actually a plastics manufacturer. Its production quality had always been inconsistent, and there had been numerous complaints—yet, for some unknown reason, it was still operating. Eclipse Corporation quickly called an emergency meeting. At the meeting, Geraldine wore a pitiful expression as she explained herself in a slow, aggrieved tone. Through the surveillance feed Aiden had synced to me, I could clearly see every bit of this pretentious slut’s performance. “That factory was recommended to me by Raelynn. Before she left, she told me to work with them. I don’t know how things ended up like this.” “Oh right, before she left, she also said Eclipse Corporation had no future and suggested I consider Lawson Corp instead.” She acted like she was just casually repeating something. But those listening took it seriously, and the room instantly grew tense with anger. I wasn’t there. With no one to refute her, she could spin anything she wanted. One by one, people began tearing into me. “She must be a spy planted by Lawson Corp! She deliberately gave Geraldine bad advice to sabotage Eclipse!” In the blink of an eye, I was branded as a traitor. Aiden cleared his throat a few times and raised a hand to quiet everyone. “Right now, whether Raelynn is a traitor isn’t the priority. What matters is figuring out how to recover Eclipse Corporation’s losses.” One board member sneered. “Ten billion isn’t ten thousand. You think that kind of damage can just be undone? What we should be doing is finding Raelynn and making her pay!”Aiden frowned. “Raelynn already resigned. There’s no way to reach her right now. That idea is absurd.” Geraldine stood up. “Before my senior left, she said Lawson Corp was a great place. Maybe… she’s with them now?” “No way. She’s not that kind of person,” Aiden said, unable to stop himself from defending me. Geraldine immediately raised her voice. “But you two already broke up. She told me herself—said the two of you didn’t see eye to eye. Maybe… she’s not the person you thought she was.” A senior executive jumped in. “Why don’t we just go to Lawson Corp and bring her out for a confrontation?” “Yeah, we have to find her!” the others echoed, all getting riled up again. I turned off the video feed and made a phone call, then stood up and walked out of the room. The timing was just right. It was my cue to show up. I pushed open the meeting room doors. The entire room fell silent, everyone frozen in shock. “Raelynn, perfect timing! We were just about to come find you and hold you accountable,” one of the furious execs shouted, pointing at me. “Perfect,” I said calmly as I took a seat. “Because I’m here to settle scores, too.” That executive snapped, “Settle what? You’re the one who tried to sabotage Eclipse Corporation and fled to Lawson Corp. Don’t pretend to be the victim here.” I didn’t even look at him. I turned my gaze on Geraldine. “I didn’t expect that after just a few days, someone would already be shifting all the blame onto me.” Geraldine’s face changed. She clearly started to panic under my stare. I smiled faintly, unfazed by the glares around me. “So tell me, exactly how did I sabotage Eclipse Corporation?” One of the quicker executives jumped in. “You told Geraldine to work with that garbage factory, which led to the ten billion loss. Now the company’s in financial crisis—don’t you think you should take full responsibility?” I curled my lip. “Geraldine told you that, didn’t she?” “Yeah. Don’t try to change the subject. Just tell us how you’re going to fix this.” I was just about to speak when someone knocked on the door.A young werewolf walked in, strode over to me, and bowed respectfully. “President,” he said, then handed me a stack of documents. “President? What president?” someone muttered. Everyone in the room, including Geraldine, was stunned.
