Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 185 Cold-Blooded Logic

"I still remember exactly what the server who led me there looks like." I casually pointed a finger, and that server’s legs buckled instantly. He started trembling uncontrollably. "Why so nervous? I haven’t even said anything yet." With my arms crossed, I slowly paced back and forth in front of him. Sweat dripped steadily from his forehead, and he looked like he was on the verge of a breakdown. I figured that was enough and finally spoke. "Let me ask you—was it Yvonne who told you to lead me to that room?" The server raised his head, a strange determination in his eyes. He answered directly, "I don’t even know this Ms. Yvonne. I only took you there because you were drunk and asked me to help you to a room." I arched an eyebrow. "Still not telling the truth?" I’d given him a way out, and he didn’t take it. No need to show mercy now. "I had nothing to do with this. You’re just accusing an innocent man!" Yvonne lifted her chin proudly. "See, Raelynn? Heaven sees everything. Aren’t you afraid the Moon Goddess will punish you for saying things like this?" Punishment from the Moon Goddess? You’ll find out soon who’s getting punished. I glanced at the server’s uniform and smiled. "You have a daughter, don’t you?" He flinched, clearly confused, but when he noticed my gaze fall on the collar of his shirt, he couldn’t help but ask, "How do you know that?" I smiled faintly. "Your uniform is clean and freshly pressed, no strange odors—means you’re married, and your mate takes care of your clothes. Just now, when you were panicking, you accidentally lit up your phone screen. I saw a little girl who looks quite a bit like you on the lock screen. I’d guess that’s your daughter?" His face went pale. Still, he snapped back, "What does my daughter have to do with anything?" "Everything. The reason you did Yvonne’s bidding is because she threatened you. And I’m guessing... she threatened your daughter, didn’t she?" At this point in my analysis, Yvonne couldn’t stay calm anymore. She shouted, "That’s a lie! I don’t even know him! Why would I threaten his daughter?" I said nothing and waved my hand. Tammy stepped forward and handed me a bag.Yvonne’s eyes widened. "That’s my bag! Give it back!" She reached to grab it, but the hand clutching her robe slipped—her neckline plunged, and a good portion of her pale chest was suddenly exposed. The crowd gasped and laughed, and Yvonne scrambled to wrap her robe tightly around herself, humiliated. I pulled a pink hair clip out of the bag. It looked cute and childlike, with a tiny pink bunny hanging from it. "Is this your daughter’s?" The server’s eyes widened. He frowned and thought for a moment, then nodded. "Yes." Yvonne glared at him with fury. "What are you talking about?! How would I know your daughter?" He looked up and let out a heavy, grief-stricken sigh. "I’ve already admitted it. She forced me to drug the drinks. She wanted to frame Ms. Beck and ruin her reputation. But I forgot which room was which and brought her to the wrong one... and Yvonne ended up going in by mistake. You can punish me however you want. But my daughter’s been kidnapped—please, I’m begging you, save her!" The strength of a father’s love moved everyone in the room. Everyone but Yvonne—her face was twisted with rage. "I didn’t do it! You’re all conspiring against me!" "Conspiring?" I sneered. "Yvonne, even now you’re still trying to wriggle out of this? My advice—admit it while you can. Maybe you’ll suffer a little less." She clutched the collar of her robe and shrank back. I was already taller than her, and now, looking down at her from above, she didn’t even dare meet my eyes. "I didn’t hurt anyone... I didn’t..." Her last thread of sanity snapped. She turned to Aiden, suddenly threw herself forward, and grabbed his pant leg. "Aiden, I like you so much! Please—say something for me, will you?" Aiden kicked her off with disgust. "Don’t touch me. You make me sick." "You think I’m disgusting? Aiden, that’s not what you said the other night! You said I looked pitiful, that you’d take good care of me..." And that night came flooding back to me too.Under the shadows of the trees, Yvonne had leaned into Aiden’s arms. He hadn’t pushed her away immediately. Instead, he hesitated before stepping back. The memory made my chest tighten. Aiden noticed right away and pulled me into his arms. I tried to pull away, but he only hugged me tighter. "I don’t know what you’re talking about," he said coldly. "But don’t drag my name into your delusions. I never said anything like that. It’s all in your head." Then he turned to the crowd of stunned reporters, who had clearly just witnessed a scandal of the century. "Sorry to hijack the attention like this. But I want to make something clear—Raelynn and I are together. I hope the media spreads that far and wide, so anyone with ulterior motives can finally get the message." Ulterior motives. That was a direct slap to Yvonne’s face. Her face went ghost-white as she stared at Aiden holding me. Jealousy and rage twisted her expression. Then she screamed—and suddenly, her hand morphed into a wolf claw and came slashing straight at my face.
