Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 184 Public Showdown

His words might’ve been harsh, but I couldn’t help feeling touched. After everything that had just happened, it was clear the birthday party was over. The whole thing had gone off the rails and had to end early, with everyone quietly making their exit. Just as guests began saying their goodbyes, the woman at the center of it all suddenly came to. Wrapped in nothing but a thin blanket, Yvonne rushed down the stairs in a dazed panic, completely unraveling. The people nearby tried to stop her, but she shook them off. Tears shimmered in her eyes as she screamed across the hall, “Who did this to me? This whole thing was a setup!” Unbelievable. She was already flipping the script—trying to pin the blame on someone else. I stood not far away, watching it all unfold. Then her eyes locked on me, and her voice instantly sharpened—high-pitched and cutting through the room. “It was Raelyn! She’s the one who told me to go into that room. She set me up!” Tears rolled down her cheeks as she threw the accusation out for everyone to hear. A few young werewolves—clearly some of her admirers—stepped up to defend her right away. “Yeah, no way Yvonne would ever do something like that! She’s the Starborn Pack heiress—someone must’ve set her up!” I actually laughed out loud. She was still digging her own grave. “Yvonne,” I said calmly, “are you sure you're not making things worse for yourself?” That was the last warning I was offering. If she kept going, she was headed straight into something she couldn’t handle. “Making things worse?” She snapped, eyes wild. “I know what you did, Raelyn. I’m going to make sure you pay for what you did to me!” I sighed. “Before you go on about justice, maybe put on some clothes first?” Yvonne froze, suddenly realizing she was still nearly naked in front of a room full of people. Her eyes went wide in horror, and she immediately dropped into a crouch to cover herself. It was Tammy’s birthday—not Yvonne’s—so no one had brought a change of clothes for her. Around us, a few chuckles broke out. The embarrassment hit her hard, and it looked like she wanted to crawl under the nearest table.Eventually, Tammy gave a nod to one of the house staff, who returned with a robe for Yvonne to cover up with. Wrapped in the oversized fabric, Yvonne turned her head and glared at me, seething with resentment. “Raelyn,” she said, “you’re trying to change the subject because you’re scared I’ll expose what you did.” I couldn’t help but laugh again. It took real nerve to play the victim that shamelessly. I looked her straight in the eye. “Yvonne, do you even hear yourself right now?” “Raelyn, I trusted you,” she cried, her voice shaking as she launched into full-blown theatrics. “Back when we worked together, I always looked up to you. I treated you with nothing but respect. Even after you got me fired, I didn’t say a word. But now this? Why are you still trying to ruin me? Why are you still coming after me?” I knew exactly what she was doing. She was trying to spin the story, framing herself as the poor, innocent victim. That way, even if the media got wind of what happened, it wouldn’t ruin her completely. But if the truth got out—that she’d willingly slept with a group of men at the Moon Pack’s estate—then her reputation as Starborn Pack’s golden girl would be finished. “I think we should clear something up,” I said calmly. “You didn’t lose your job because I set you up. You got fired because you crossed the line—hooking up with multiple men, and sleeping with people who were already in relationships. You got yourself kicked out.” My words were clear, honest, and sharp. The surrounding werewolves started murmuring among themselves. More than a few judgmental eyes turned on Yvonne. One female werewolf, clearly unimpressed, spat on the floor and muttered, “What a disgrace.” Yvonne didn’t back down. Her eyes burned with anger. “You can say whatever you want. I can’t stop you. Losing my job, fine—I could live with that. But now my reputation is ruined! My father is a respected leader, known for being kind and honorable. How am I supposed to face him now?” “Oh, so now you care about your father’s reputation?” I said with a cold smile. “Then let me help him out—consider this a lesson on behalf of the Alpha of Starborn Pack.”Her eyes widened, and for the first time, she looked genuinely shaken. “Yvonne,” I said slowly, “just admit it—you were the one who set me up. That room was meant for me, wasn’t it? I was the one who was supposed to wake up humiliated and destroyed. Right?” She shook her head furiously. “No! I would never do something like that! If I was trying to set you up, why did I end up being the one who got hurt? That doesn’t even make sense! You’re making it up!” A few of the reporters nearby, now realizing this mess went even deeper, rushed over with their cameras and started snapping pictures again—this time focused entirely on Yvonne. I turned to Tammy. “Would you mind calling out your house staff? I’d like to ask someone a question.” Tammy gave a quick nod, and moments later, every werewolf server was lined up in the hall. “The second everything blew up,” I said slowly, “Aiden made sure the entire estate was locked down. No one got in or out.” That was when all the color drained from Yvonne’s face—she looked like she’d seen a ghost.
